Relying on ONE traffic source is not sexy...

Anything 1 in business is a bad idea.

Same thing with traffic.

If you rely on 1 traffic source for your business, you are 1 algorithm or rule change from total disaster.

I've seen people do well on Facebook and then lose their main income overnight due to the fact that they broke a small rule that Facebook changed overnight or "last night."

Always have multiple places that you are getting your traffic from and of course are getting results.

I am not sure why eBay called in the FBI to investigate cookie-stuffing that eBay and other companies were quietly engaged in, maybe to shift the blame to affiliates on a scheme that they secretly endorsed?

I am not defending bad affiliates since they knew what they were doing were wrong, however, these companies were also benefiting from affiliate fraud.

It just goes to show, once schemes start falling apart, the affiliate was always going to be the fall person, even though the company knew all about it.

It is getting mackier every day as competition stiffens. So having more than 1 source of traffic isa goodidea. Alternatively, you need to keep yourself updated on the latest rules to stay on the safer side.

Agree with all this totally and utterly.....

I"m scrabbling away like mad at this moment in time trying to work my way out of this situation. Loosing a client due to this c0vid business has really brought the pressure on me from working with one traffic source to now having to get my head around things very very fast.....

    Scary times!

And never rely on one client either.

Agreed. It's important to have multiple traffic sources. I don't see where being "sexy" has to do with it though. This has been common practice for many years.

    2C
P.S. The more traffic options you have, the more secure your Business will be.

Are you referring to me or talfighel?? Following your logic, you are a Person like them as well because you're reading/responding. (Lol).

Although it doesn't necessarily apply to OP's thread ... Sometimes you have to be Mindful of using "attention grabbers" ... Especially if they don't make much sense in the following content.

Personally -- on a Forum of People who see these messages all the time -- I would go with something more "simple"/straight forward like: "How To Make Your Traffic Sources More Secure." (Then provide valuable content ... )

          Again, just my 2C.

This is nothing new. In fact it's a very, very, very old concept.

its a great idea. I also prefer to use multiple platforms to reach out to the right audience for my website. It is the only way to take advantage of the huge volume of customers browsing the internet every time.

I agree. And there are a lot of good traffic sources out there. I always advise to master one source and set a budget on that source but don't scale with your entire budget. Take some of the profit and go master another traffic source and keep expanding using that process.

Regarding Facebook, I personally had my account disabled once. I appealed and got it back. But I was ready to move on anyway since I don't solely depend on them.
