How do I take advantage of this keyword?

I recently stumbled upon a misspelled word that gets a lot of searches, has very low competition, and Google doesn't suggest the proper spelling, so I want to take advantage of this keyword as best as possible, but I'm not sure how.

So, my plan is to throw a blog on it and start posting articles to catch some of the long tail misspelled keywords that get traffic, too. Do you guys think this is this the best way to take advantage of AdSense, or do you reckon there's a better alternative?

Thanks, warriors.

Why don't you find an affiliate product related to your keyword and run a Yahoo Search Marketing PPC campaign with about $10. You can direct link to your affiliate page using Yahoo Search Marketing as opposed to Google. See how it converts.

The keyword is too broad for a product. Pretend it's 'animuls' (like 'animals'). You can't really make a product for that because it's not targeted toward anything, so I was thinking of just using AdSense to pick up some clicks. I've had $50 sitting in my AdSense account for a year now, and I want to get it out anyway.

That is probably your best bet with traffic that is not targeted.

Or you can try building a list then poll your list to see what they would pay for and create it.

A list can also be leverage for J.V.s, getting paid advertising to the list, ad swaps to build another more targeted list.

I would say try building the list and if that doesn't work then Adsense or other text ads.

Yeah, that's what I was planning on doing: AdSense, but would it be best to make a blog?

You could throw together a Blogger blog pretty fast and it's free to test out your keyword.

If you get consistent clicks that would pay for a domain then get one and host your own blog.

Owning the domain on a keyword that you can demonstrate is making money can be sold for a little chunk to invest in something else.
