How to Build a Sales Funnel That Makes You Money Consistently - in 5 Steps

I've spent the last 8 years building sales funnels for my company and for our clients.

Some of them failed, meaning they couldn't make any positive returns on the time and money spent building them.

And some of them were wildly successful. I mean funnels that made anywhere from $3000 a month to $1MM+ a month.

This I've done consistently - day in, day out. So I believe I'm 5000% qualified to tell you what it takes to build a funnel that's super successful.

Not to brag, just last month, I charged a doctor $25,000 to build a funnel for them. So this should tell you one or two things about me and sales funnels.

So let's get to it.

1. To build a funnel that gets your bank account to swell with cash month after month, first, you need to know and understand your market like the back of your hand.

Here's why: you can't make an offer people find irresistible when you don't know what things motivate them to take action or buy.

Your funnel can't be successful if you don't know what keeps people in your market awake at night. Take, for instance, what keeps most people in my market up at night is the fear of going broke, not being able to pay the bills, not being able to take care of their families, etc.

When you know what keeps your people up at night, then you can be able to communicate to them in a way that gets them to listen to you and ultimately, bring out their credit card and buy from you.

2. To build a sales funnel that keeps your bank account growing month after month after month, you need to find a way to stand out in your marketplace.

Here's what I mean: if everyone in your market is teaching people how to get results in the same old way they're used to, show them that they're still doing things the old way and introduce them to the NEW WAY of doing things.

People ALWAYS want to learn of a new way of doing things. If this comes from you, you'll build rabid fans fast - who swallow everything your dish out to them.

Think about this: in my market, more than a million other people out there are on their blogs, telling people that the way to attract great clients is to use blogging, podcasting, YouTube videos, SEO, writing a New York Times bestseller, etc. This is the old way of getting clients and customers.

I came out to tell people that those are the old ways of getting clients and customers in their business. I told them that the new way is to use a simple 3-step funnel and to invest in advertising.
What was the result? People started to pay attention and to listen to what I say.

But... if I had continued with the old way or danced along with the crowd, no one, I mean no one will listen to me. And chances are, I will have no new clients and customers.

So that's the second step in building a great funnel.

3. The software or system you use to build your funnel isn't important, as long as it has nice layouts, fast loading speeds, and good display across all devices.

Most people think that the software they use for their funnel is what determines the success of their funnel. This is not true in any way. If you get #1 and #2 above correctly, you are on your way to success.

The software or the platform you use, doesn't matter one bit. Always remember this.

And this brings me to the fourth point in building a funnel that lets you sleep well at night.

4. Invest in high-quality traffic. Most people say they're looking for "cheap" or "free" traffic. There's nothing like free traffic.

When you invest your time hanging out in groups and on forums, you're not getting free traffic. You're paying for traffic with your time.

Which is completely fine if you have the time. Personally, I post in groups and on forums when I have free time. And this brings me some high-quality clients. This isn't free. I pay for it with my time...and remember..time is money.

Cheap traffic: when you scout for cheap traffic, like what people buy on Fiverr, you end up throwing your money away. High-quality traffic that makes you serious money will cost you money.

But who cares how much a traffic source or package costs if it brings you positive returns on your investment?

The mistake I see most people make is seeing money spent on traffic as a cost. Nope. This is an investment.

If you put in $100 in Facebook ads and you get back $300 in returns, wouldn't you do it all day long?

So...when you have that funnel up, invest in quality traffic or advertising.

5. TEST TEST TEST! This is the most important part of building a sales funnel that gives you peace of mind.

How would you know if people are responding to your message and that your funnel is bringing in the right results if you don't test?

Building a successful funnel isn't a one-off thing. Not by a long shot.

You have to test your advertising campaigns and sources.
If you're using Facebook ads, Google ads, Banner ads and other ad sources, the best way to test the results these sources get you is to duplicate your main funnel for every new traffic source.

This can be done with a few clicks depending on the funnel software you use.

Also test your sales copy on your funnel. Test your ad copy. Test every single thing. This is where a bulk of the work lies.

If you're not good at creating great copy for your funnel, find books or courses on writing killer sales copy and dig them. Or hire a good copywriter to do the job for you if you're an entrepreneur who's short on time or patience to learn things like that.

In conclusion, having a great sales funnel is the ticket to making consistent income online.

It's the secret to all that riches you dreamed of when you first got started online.

But no one told you that it's not as easy as they make it seem.
I know that with the mass increase in the number of sales funnel building software programs online, it's made the entire process look super easy. But this only made it worse - a huge spike in competition.

Some even add proven sales copy templates as a bonus to the software when you buy them.

But little did you know that what worked for Russel Brunson or Frank Kern or Ryan Deiss won't work for you - if you don't find your own unique voice and pursue it.

But there's a shortcut though, you can work with someone who has years of experience building sales funnels for others - to build yours.

This will include spending lots of time with them crafting out your unique message and doing proper market research.

But as you hire, make sure you do your due diligence. Make sure this person knows what they're doing.

That they know and understand how to write great sales copy.
That they understand marketing like the back of their hand. If they charge you a price you can afford, thank your lucky stars - cuz they aren't cheap.

Don't just hire someone because they have the technical knowledge to set up a sales funnel without having the other essential components.

Doing this is a recipe for disaster - losing your time and money spent on building the funnel and marketing it.

That's what it takes to build a sales funnel that brings in consistent income to your bank account and lets you sleep good at night.

If you're able to go through this process to build your funnel, then you can rest assured that you've created an ATM machine for yourself.

Cheers,
Kennedy

Nothing in your post tells anyone how to build a funnel. It is really the same generic, vague information people post to get their signature noticed

I love you bro but yes he did. (he shared a proven success story.)

He told you to promote to business owners that are willing to spend.

A doctor is not us...they know nothing about building a sales funnel...

Sometimes people that keep trying to market to marketers run into a brick wall.

As Entrepreneur Marketers we have to see the big picture at all times.

Are you sure? I don't see it?

        et al..

In all fairness to the OP this section of the forum is about "Internet Marketing" and appropriately that is what the OP addresses, so the post is in the appropriate forum.

A more appropriate thread title here in the Internet Marketing forum would be something like "How to Market a Sales Funnel That Makes You Money Consistently - in 5 Steps"

        vs.

The title and the mechanics of "How to Build a Sales Funnel That Makes You Money Consistently - in 5 Steps" would be appropriate for the Website Design forum.

What's with all the dissing of every thread recently? There is info in this OP that could help marketers build a better funnel - one that actually works.

I don't care how fancy your funnel is - if you are focused on your efforts and your funnel and your sales....without focusing on your audience...you lose. Every part of your 'funnel' must appeal to your target audience or they will opt out before the next part of your funnel....

It would not help if someone posted 'here is how to build a marketing funnel' and then gave exact step by step instructions for BUILDING a funnel - half the people who read the thread would skip a few steps...or totally miss WHY they are building a funnel in the first place. At least a dozen would ask 'what's a funnel'?

While I agree with AL this thread may give the impression of pushing the sig - the info in the thread is worth reading and the sig is optional

I think people sometimes confuse the difference between "build" and "market".As well as a "Sales Funnel" and "Marketing Funnel".
