Maximum effort. Yes, Ryan Reynolds. The guy who plays Deadpool (and is probably Deadpool in real life), is actually the creative guy behind some of the most memorable ads in the past couple years. There's the spot that claims gin brand Aviation tastes so good because the Unitarian Church of Fresno blessed every bottle. And that Mint Mobile segment that also features '80s star Rick Moranis into a field of potted mint. Reynolds both starred, and wrote the script for those videos too.

And during Brandweek 2020, Reynolds shared some of his insights with Adweek's creativity and innovation editor David Griner during their Brandweek digital event. The 7 lessons, summarised, are:
  • Less bureaucracy allows for more creativity.
  • To be a good marketer, be a consumer first.
  • Authenticity always triumphs.
  • Speed is good, too.
  • Accountability matters.
  • Celebrity status isn't everything.
  • Consumers are tiring of endorsers.

i agree with all these points. That is the most important reason that I admire Ryan Reynolds. Apart from his celebrity influence, he address people with modesty and share right information with them.

Thanks. While I've heard some folks (not here; moreso in "the real world") snark about how Hollywood star Reynolds is cashing in on his looks and fame, imo he's a scarily-talented marketer whose multiple successes in business are not accidental. His seemingly effortless use of humor is so effective - and hard to replicate (underscoring the need to not even try that avenue if it's inauthentic/forced) - each commercial almost seems like an additional scene in a never-ending Deadpool movie.

I've heard about these snarks. What they don't know is that Ryan really knows his stuff. It's not like Ryan can just fake it out.

For sure. I think some people almost want him to be "another celeb endorsing phony" just because of his acting successes (and, in fairness, also because there've been plenty of said phonys going for a buck over the years.)

He obviously has skin in the game for his companies, though, and clearly prioritizes helping to craft their marketing messages..

Those are actually really good points and I didn't expect it to come from Deadpool himself. I really like Ryan cause he has wisdom and charisma
