Kindle Self Publishing. Glitch or Hack??

2 replies
So i saw this YouTube video where the Author was using other peoples real name on Kindle when publishing their book. The algorithms were linking their eBook with that authors KDP Author page. Making the book a best seller and having Amazon suggest the book to a lot more people. Is this a Glitch or Hack?

    If you have an agreement with authors it is just fine. But if there is no such agreement it can lead to uneding legal battles that will leave yo penless.

    Two things I've seen is;

    1) Authors write a book with titles the same as a best seller, with maybe two words reversed. For example, The Life Of Pi VS The Pi Of Life.. I actually bought the book that wasn't the book I thought it was.

    2) Using a title that is very near the best selling title, and using an author's name that is a reverse of the author's name that wrote the best seller. I've seen this a few times.

    One example is the best selling book Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini.

    A couple of enterprising people put out the book Persuasion: The Practice Of Influence by Jane Cialdini and Robert Austen. Of course this is selling well on its own, because people think they are getting the other book. And it shows up very highly in searches for the Robert Cialdini book.

    Some clever wicked people out there.
