    Avoid poor legibility is a big one. I've seen it way too many times. Websites using fancy looking fonts but I have no idea what it says.

  • Personally, I break the color rule all the time. Because personally, I like colors that clash. So when I have to make something, I just stick to black and whites to avoid complaints =D

    It's quite subjective. If you only start getting into design then abiding by such "rules" won't hurt. But when you get bigger and skilled then you can break these rules in a way you find appropriate for a specific goal.
