Marketers need to find their voice

The world is moving fast with plenty of innovations taking place in virtually all the four corners of the globe. The marketing arena is not exempted. As such, marketers are dashing to find their voice to help them stand out from their competitors. The voice we are talking about here is the personality- or the thing that makes you to be ''you''. People will buy from you if they know you and trust you. So your personality must help you find your voice and show who you are. If you are a marketer, what is it that are you doing to find your voice?

IF they want or need what you are selling!

It's true you need to find your method of relating to/talking to customers but that won't help unless you first choose the RIGHT audience for the product you want to sell.

I get what you are saying here... But I have a question. If YOU have the want or need for whatever it is... is it not likely that others will too?

If you are selling stuff... like hard goods.. you can literally walk around your home and understand that YOU bought any and every item, and that means someone else will to.

On the information side of things.. if YOU have an issue that you found a solution for, you are not alone and there are others with the same issue.

Its not that anything and everything can or can't be sold... its how anything and everything is sold that determines if it will sell.

I hear you too. However, when we make marketing decsions, we ignore the extreams. Of course, you cannot miss them. They are there and there s nothing you can do about it.

OK, take the next couple of days, PrimeDay at Amazon, Anti-Prime at Walmart. Millions will be spent in hours, without the need to hear a single voice.

Even locally, those who market their wares, have no need to have a voice, other than just letting people know they exist.

Maybe, those who only market MMO, or sell IM biz ops need a personality...and that may be questionable, what about PLR? Who's voice is that?

Even if one needs to find their voice, what is the advice here? NONE.

A different idea for Warriors might be, sell what people are buying and sell to the ones who have the money and really don't care about YOU and your voice, they want the goods, at a fair price. Focus on that may lead to a lot more marketing dollars in your wallet than trying to "find your voice".

The only time I buy something related to a "voice" is when my wife says something like "buy it for me now - or else" with a wink

As Kay said, first you have to find the right audience for the product you want to sell. But you have a point in which you do have to find your voice. Personally video has helped me drastically because it allows me to warm up my audience much faster and I'm simply being myself and not trying to imitate someone else. Ever since I incorporated video to my thank you pages and other places my conversions have increased.

interesting points - and agreed. Product/service demand is of course paramount, but for many of us 1-person business IMers, having a differentiated voice can become a huge asset. Video, frequent emails, blogging all good ways to discover and hone this imo.

yep it can be very important to be unique and find your ideal customers by being different from the rest. Most people are doing that through video marketing

You are right if a million people contribute a dollar towards a cause, you end up with a million dolars. So the little thing counts.

But dont just do a video because your friends are making them. Being unique ads your voice to it.

Once you find something that people need they are going to buy from you. Finding your voice is about being able to stand out in the crowd so people can see what you offer and then determine if what you offer is relevant to them.

When you find the need and you cater to the need then you will stand out and make money.

I would suggest the biggest hurdle here is the idea of "trying to find" their voice. Each and everyone of us is Unique in our own way. So being true to ones self, and simply being oneself and being honest and true is all that it takes to separate yourself in the market.
