I have a coupon site but I keep getting declined by CJ merchants

Hi guys, I have a general coupon site. When I apply for a merchant's program on Commission Junction I keep getting declined by many of them. My store looks very professional and not scammy.

Do merchant's not like coupon sites? Do they prefer niche blogs (ie should I have a fitness blog if I'm applying to a fitness merchant's affiliate program?).

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

If a vendor does not offer coupons then why would they want to be on a coupon site

Good point. But a lot of the merchants do offer coupons though.

For the most part, CJ vendors frown upon coupon sites and 'thin' affiliate sites. They want their brand associated with major influencers, not the little guy. Also the algorithm checks for metrics like EPC to gauge the performance of an affiliate.

      Thanks for the input.

I've always wondered how sites like RetailMeNot get accepted into merchant's programs.

To be fair though, RetailMeNot has a large blog section so I guess it's not a thin site.
