In the IM niche, do you only promote launches?

In the Internet Marketing niche, new products (information and software) get launched daily.

These offers have the following in common:

1) They are typically new offers. People always like buying something new.

2) They are available for a limited time. After a few days, the price will go up. Urgency sells (both to affiliates and to prospects).

3) Affiliates know a buying frenzy will ensue, because prospects will be hearing about the product from many different affiliates and JV partners. This leads to higher conversions.

4) Typically, these product launches have really deep funnels with upsells, downsells, OTOs etc. This results in high EPCs (earnings per click) for affiliates.

Having said all the above, why would affiliates bother promoting a conventional evergreen offer, when they can choose a new product and promote that instead?

Can an evergreen offer compete with all the above? How?

Thanks in advance!

  • You can still promote evergreen offers when scheduled as part of an offer or bundled in a themed package.

I like this topic - it's interesting and something I wonder about.

Some products seem to die after their launch but I see some that keep getting sales. I think it depends on the author of that product doing promotion or not. Also, if the price stays fairly low or within range of the value being provided, I see those products continuing to sell.

Evergreen products like autoresponders and tracking tools will always be around and have recurring costs and affiliate programs attached to them so it's attractive to marketers.

  • Some people don't want to build a business centered around a bunch of opportunity seeking, dopamine addicted children. Some people want to actually help their audience succeed, while others just want to GET their money. Some people care about lifetime value of the customer. Some people want a relationship with their audience, others want to pimp them out like prostitutes.

    Shall I go on?

The fact is, most people are copycats. It's easier to copy a bunch of clowns and join the circus than it is to create something unique they can be proud of. The latter requires brains. Most people have nothing between their ears.

It's obvious why most people adopt a model employed by con artists. They too are con artists. Simply click through the signatures of MOST people inside this forum, and you'll be met with a bare bones squeeze page with nothing but a hype filled, misleading headline that promises easy money or easy traffic.

Ever heard a girl say that there are no good men out there? But when you look at their dating past, you find they only go out with idiots? That's what most affiliate marketers in the 'get money quickly at costs' niche are like. They complain that no one is trustworthy, but when you look at what they are doing, it's always the same things as the people they are complaining about.

    It's pathetic

A bunch of clowns the lot of 'em. I personally detest that sleazy way of marketing because it is CLEARLY used to mislead and manipulate people into buying crap products JUST so they can get a commission; the hell with the person actually buying from them.

    Frauds the lot of them.

If you write a headline similar to...
"Discover the Secrets to Earning 10k a Month on Autopilot,
Even If You Have Never Made a Cent Online Before"...

Then you too are a fraud. Period. No question.

You can try justify it any way you want, but you are a fraud. That's why some people won't just pimp out their audience for the next new whiz-bang, shiny object. Because for some people, that's not acceptable. For most, it's okay to mislead people, because they are either morons, or con artists; usually they are both.

There's a reason marketers are not trusted. That's not an accident. There's a reason people are confused and overwhelmed. That's not an accident either. There's a reason the failure rate is so high. Not an accident.

Too many frauds peddling useless information that helps no one but themselves make money.

NOTE; I'm not calling out any specific individual here. I'm merely pointing out that in this industry, most people are in it to get money from newbies. They have no intentions of adding value to people's lives. They have no intention of helping people succeed. They want their money and they don't give a damn how they get it.

Most of these people are flat out liars and cheats. They are the ones who create a new product every couple of weeks for their affiliates to promote. And the rest of the cheats are newbies themselves, with no experience, and who will tell you they have some sort of secret on how to make money easily, and quickly, even though they are broke, and find it difficult themselves

Declan, you made several great points, in your entire post. I understand where you're coming from, and I 100% agree with you.

That said, I'm not worried about outright fraudsters. If they want to damage their reputation, they'll eventually get what's coming to them.

Yes, there are several products that are, to the experienced eye, obvious scams.

But lately, many pieces of software are being launched.

      - They have demo videos
      - They show screenshots of their interface
      - They are pretty free of bugs (or, the bugs are addressed as needed)

So, people have a very good idea of what they are buying. This isn't about selling info products with blind "this is not about X" copy.

Sure, the sapespages will mention the "potential" of using the tool (and somewhat romance the stone).

I see dozens of such pieces of software getting launched every single month.

It's these offers I feel suck out all the attention from the market.

      What do you think?

      Thanks!

Yes it can compete. Especially when you are promoting a valuable product, because very often its the case that those 'new shiny objects' are complete garbage and won't help your subscribers at all.

Think of it: you sell them crap once -> they will never ever buy from you again -> you just lost a customer.

This happened to me very often when I started. I deleted those gurus and will never trust them again.

When you are promoting one good offer for a very long time though you built trust and also generate more customers because they see that you believe yourself into your promotion.

I am very eclectic on what I promote, thinking of the end user and the benefits he'll reap.

This is how buying frenzies are created; the promise is as big as the product in question.

  • Yes new products are fresh for a launch but an evergreen offer that is high quality and have a clear wide
demand will keep working through the years.
If you have one that fits this criteria do not concern about if is or not a new product, but not all evergreen
products perform the same.Again the demand about it is key,and should bring you results overtime.

The most evergreen product is something not reliant on affiliate links, if you are selling something of value that does not rely on fake Youtube reviews it will succeed for a long time compared to GET RICH or whatever ebook/course

Evergreen offer stands for the products that always stay in demand. Most product companies have their own based following, like Apple. BUIt the product, which for you want to do Promotion, you have to make your marketing level unique and relevant to your targeted audience. Also, you can run some offers with your product to attract peoples.
