Thanks extrememan... I remember back in the day ezinearticles.com was great to get on top of the search engines until google slapped them due to all the duplicate content being submitted.

I am going to focus only on one paid traffic to start with as this is recommended and one free traffic strategy to help me out getting started.

A Content Marketing Strategy ... is still King for helping to drive free traffic and so many options it makes your head spin, so what would be your #1 site, social media platform today you would personally consider for submitting content too whether it is text based, video based, audio based...?

The only reason I wouldn't do article submissions to article directories is that they don't show up in search results, and the links are really weak.

Youtube videos, podcasting, blogging, in that order. Youtube videos are by far my most profitable online marketing. And I link the videos on my blog, and use the blog posts as Youtube video content and the descriptions.

I don't do podcasts, so far...but I've been a guest on podcasts and it generates business.

In fact, any time you are interviewed on Youtube video, podcasts, in magazines (online and offline) it generates business...and it generates additional interviews. Having at least one book helps.

Oh, even though it wasn't listed, having a book on Amazon (free to publish and list) is marketing you get paid to do....and generates interviews...and Amazon listings show up really well on Google, as do Youtube videos.

Yeah but extrememan might have another one.

I used to use them, but because I'd contact the people who picked up my articles and tried to get relationships going, that kind of thing. I don't even remember why I stopped.

Maybe I got tired of how many of them did not have a clue and I had to explain too many times what was in it for them when it was crystal clear?

But I do remember when my articles ranked... sometimes above my pages too... Which always bummed me.

Hey Claude thanks ... great tips, I too am moving towards video marketing on youtube and facebook lives due to the free organic reach you get from facebook lives, the organic reach on facebook with text based or image based posts has declined to almost no free organic reach anymore, however, facebook lives is kicking ass because you can get free exposure organically on facebook for those who are not shy about getting on facebook lives, i do not like them but will have to start doing them because of the free organic reach I will get ,,, i am more of a paid kind of marketing guy but I have to use also one paid way and one free way to generate leads ,,, I decided by the way not to go with the done for you list building service I am now going in the direction of getting coached to create my own information product as well as do affiliate marketing at the same time,

Claude ,,,, creating your information product should be the ultimate goal of every affiliate marketer, I have decided now to invest my money in this area as opposed to investing it on a done for you list building service ,,, either way I am gambling but I rather gamble with learning how to create my own information product and how to create an affiliate team that will promote my product because of the great payout commission I will give them for promoting my future product,,,

          Hi Claude...

Hi Claude, was reviewing your response again to my question, there is a lot to youtube marketing and it is free so far if you are able to use the youtube algorithm to your benefit.

Besides plugging in your keywords into the title, and taking transcribing your video for the description for internal seo and external ranking on google, the watch time on videos for SEO purposes, what do you think is a simple strategy to maximize your internal rankings on youtube for visibility as far as SEO goes.

And is it worth it share your youtube video on video sharing sites, any benefit to doing it i ?

The benefit of posting your video on other viewing sites is that more people see your video. It's not so much for SEO.

At the end of each Youtube video, link to the next video. I think you can have 3 links total. Also, link on your description to other videos you have on Youtube. And be sure to answer comments. Engagement gets better rankings.

If you have 4 videos on the same subject, number the videos "Part 1", etc. It will get more people going to the next video.

At the end of your videos, you can also include a "Subscribe" button, along with the other links to your other videos.

SEO will happen naturally as more people watch your videos.

Ezinearticles are still in business so I asume they are getting some traffic to the site at least. Could still be useful if you are list building with an attractive freebie.

What a blast from the past.

Most of that list no longer works or the ROE (return on effort) is abysmal

If I had to choose which ones still deliver a decent return on effort, I'd pick:

    Youtube

    Blogging

    Quora

    Guest Posting

The great thing about these 4 picks is you can create a blog post and repurpose it into a quora answer and YT video script

You can also strip it down to create a guest post template you can pitch

It is about getting content on the web! Either text, video, audio or any other way they have created, you have to make your mark on the web. The more marks you have the more opportunities people have to find you. The longer the content or the more links you have back to your content, the more likely people will find you.

That is the game, either you give people reasons and locations to find you or you will not be found, period. Find problems people are having and build content around it. Then send it to them and let others link back to your solution for their problem or the way you have created to create joy and happiness.

Put it this way, it is a very very very big web, if are not putting reasons and ways to find you, the web will eat you alive. Make your marks put your stuff out there and it may be found. Build your little section of the web and let it be known. Enjoy the journey..!

The illusion is to think that some of those strategies don't work. Sure maybe some are better than others, but most of the time it's not about traffic, it's about the individual.

Because if you have your focus on one of them and the discipline to keep doing it, all of them will work.

But I'd add niche edits (you'd normally have to pay for those) and press releases.

Beleive it or not I am still a fan of article marketing even in 2020.

Article marketing gives you and opportunity to receive many views to your articles which in turn should lead to clicks to your website. The clicks are highly targeted since the reader is most likely reading your material and then clicking the link. Not to mention the more you write the more you learn.

I like article marketing because it gives me an opportunity to learn my niche more. Everything else like sales, and list building is a bonus.

The problem with article marketing is the spammy articles and links. Keeping your article clean could lead it to ranking high within the search engines although i only see Quora links ranking so high these days. Why Quora would not be the best is because Quora should not be used for linking purposes. What makes Quora great is its designed to answer questions from experts in certain fields, or have your questions answered from the experts. It should not be used for marketing purposes. If your an expert in a particular field or fields, than quora is great as an activity to share your expertise. They give you an opportunity to leave a link on your profile and as you continue to give good answers people will naturally gravitate to your profile and click on your link.

Other types of marketing you mention lead to quick clicks to your site however it might not lead to good sales, unless your building a list which will keep that prospect in your list of potential sales in the future.

The worst one I see is doing a podcast. I mean this is good if your well established and have such a huge following where you send out an invite to a podcast and people tune in and become believers in what you are saying. Other than that I would stay away from it unless your well established.

    You're an old member.

Remember when the main discussion was heavily populated with "article marketers" and people relying on almost entirely "free" traffic?

They went out of business. I had to make this adaptation. I used to get 2,000+ "free" visitors per day.

Those days are over. Like 7-8 years ago. You have to learn paid traffic to stay in business.

    It changed.

Right now I am focusing on search engine optimization pages. I think this is very important.
The promotion of the position of groups in search in almost all social networks is influenced by the same factors:
    Entering the necessary key phrases in the title, description, discussions, content - the posts themselves, comments;
Engagement and metrics - the number of subscribers, reactions to publications (likes-comments-reposts), engagement indicators.

I friended 1000 Affiliate Marketers in a very short time on Facebook and it was nauseating. .

A non stop pitch fest on the "Hello" and sometimes without the "Hello" included

I am talking very first message...PDF attachments, Voice recordings, even links to sales pages.

Then the actual conversations,..what do I do...always leading to what they do like a voice saying "wait for it "

And everyone is an expert now I did not realize that.

You can not teach them anything they are all knowing.

I am going to delete all and start fresh out of Aff. Marketing niche.

I have always been more of a Creator that utilizes Aff marketing but not as prime source of income.

    People, you say??
This is the funniest and the most ironic comment.

I would personally stay away from:

Article Directories (Mentioning it made me want to visit Ezine Articles after over 8 years. Reminds me of the sweet old days when you would submit 15 posts and you are on page 1)

Bookmarking is just something I use on second tier but on an automated level.

Podcasting may work for some people but I wouldn't even bother. not for me.

    What I would focus and always dedicate myself towards are;

    Blogging
    Guest Posting
    Youtube

Facebook Marketing (both for organic and paid traffic)

Much depends on what your subject material is.
I think they are all good strategies.
Article marketing still brings traffic for me.
Spread yourself on all the platforms you mentioned.
I'd also add Linked-In to the mix if you are working in business related niches.

Article directories like ezine articles and go articles are pretty much a waste of time now. A better approach would be Medium, which is a content - social media site.

You can link to your website on the desktop version, and you are also allowed to repurpose your own content on the platform.

Impression is easy to get come Pinterest but is Clicks thats matter the most.

Well recently I do noticed Pinterest going heywire. My traffic does drop from there.
Good days can get extra 100 or so traffic there.

I know is not much but still is traffic the Clicks to your site.

Any of those methods can be highly effective, even Article Marketing even though most people prefer to say that it's outdated, if you go for long tail niche keywords and stick to it long enough it WILL work from my exerience. With that said I must say that this shouldn't be your main source of traffic of course, paid traffic AWLAYS wins the game.
