LinkedIn's parent company, Microsoft has just released its FY21 Q1 report. The report shows 'record levels of engagement' up at 31% in the recent quarter.

LinkedIn's revenue is also up 16%, driven mostly by an increased ad spend. According to Microsoft:

"Advertiser demand on LinkedIn returned to near pre-COVID levels, up 40% year over year, as marketers use our tools to connect with professionals ready to do business. And organizations continue to tap into the combination of LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Dynamics 365 to ensure salespeople have the context they need to sell remotely."
Furthermore, as on the title, Microsoft reports that LinkedIn is now up to 722 million members globally from 675 million last year. This is again reflective of the pandemic, with a general increase in traffic across all social networks.

Microsoft also expects LinkedIn's revenue growth to continue, with an ever-improving ad marketing and increased strong engagement seen as growth drivers.

Engagement gains make sense given WFH generally + job stresses a lot of folks are experiencing this year. What's still unclear to me, at least, is whether LinkedIn has actually functionally improved as a platform since Microsoft's acquisition. Realize MSFT has integrated LinkedIn's Profile targeting into their search business, and that LinkedIn gas grown its user base impressively, but seems a lot of the "issues" (very little for Blue Collar workers, no material inroads into the gig economy, little industry-specific functionality, high CPC, etc) persist...

Linkedin now has 722 million members worldwide, is a great achievement. And 675 million last year's strength shows the pandemic impact. I also have an account there and found it a very professional and informative platform among all the social media platforms.
One can learn here a lot, and it is a storehouse of opportunities and organic links.

    Thanks

This is the main job-related media in the world now I think.
People have no good social media, instagram is too idle and monotonous. Dont even compare linkedin to facebook, because the last one is broken and opened for 3rd party software with the help of which you can spy on facebook

I am getting new job offers almost every week, despite I am already employed in 2 companies lol.
You must join linkedin if you want to go with the world in a time.

I find the time i spend on LinkedIn to be more rewarding than time spent on other social media. I often wonder if it should actually be referred to as a social media since it focuses more on business networking.
