Best 2021 Solo Digital Marketing Business Idea?

I'm a professional digital marketer with 10+ years of experience contemplating on launching my own personal business in the future (if I come up with a great business plan built on an original idea).

I am seeking highly profitable areas of digital marketing: I exclude content writing/copywriting, am seeking something more sophisticated, but I also exclude programming and hosting (as I'm a marketer, not so much a technical person).

What do you think is trendy nowadays? What could work?

I am striving to create a business plan for a solo "remote work business", which I could run from abroad as well, basically 50% of the time I would be "on the road".

I have the following ideas, but I'm sure that I'm missing out on many things:

1) PPC Marketing Agency: launch a small personal agency and run PPC campaigns for various clients (small firms) - this went very well between 2010 up until around 2018, I think, but nowadays the market seems to be saturated (high competition, low conversion rates etc.)

2) Sell site auditing and additional SEO services: I could scan the sites of clients and evaluate it thoroughly - but I know that nowadays you can obtain countless free site auditing services, so this could be difficult to sell

3) Develop a blog and generate PPC revenue & affiliate revenue: I think this is increasingly difficult nowadays and is rather "hope"-based, can take years to develop a good blog, maintain traffic and have constant stream of revenue

4) Sell stock photography by launching a paid stock photo platform: very difficult due to the fact that there are countless "free stock photo" websites

5) Ecommerce: something related to ecommerce - either the promotion part or, setting up webshops (I have zero experience in ecommerce, but perhaps this field is emerging nowadays during the pandemic and "work from home")

6) Buy/Sell Editiorial Articles: essentially intermediate between bloggers and buyers of advertisements in the form of "embedded" editorial ads (guest articles with outbound links) - this is mostly dead post-Google Penguin and a number of other penalties

...any other ideas you might want to share?

Developing a blog isn't hope based. You just need the right plan. Yes, it can take a while to get success, especially if you're relying on Google traffic, but there are other ways to build a reader base that is much quicker than waiting to rank in the search engines.

You are approaching this wrong. All of them are good ideas, if...

    You niche down enough.
You position yourself sufficiently differently than your competitors that you have an advantage. A crowded niche means there's money to be made there... if you can get and hold the attention of the buyers. Which you can if you know where to find them, how to talk to them and are different enough.

I get lots of SEO people hitting me up for business. With very few exceptions, they say,

Hi, how would you like to get 5000 visitors to your site

    or

I happened upon your site Example Domain. It's impressive, but you're not getting all the visitors you could. Get back to me for a proposal.

    or, worse,

I can get your site to be #1 in Google.

    The exception:

I have doubled and sometimes tripled the number of qualified visitors to sites in your industry in other cities. Here are 3 of them. Here is how I did it.

    A non-jargon explanation followed by:

I can increase significantly the number of qualified visitors to your site too. If interested (followed by 3 ways to contact them).

PS We are inexpensive though we charge a lot of money. By a lot of money, we mean $1700/month and up.

If that is too much for you, we understand. If not, here's how to get in touch with us.

Guess which one got and held my attention?

No. 6 i.e. selling guest posts is very much thriving despite all talks of penalties. Just, it has become an underground venture not backed by a big company publicly. Genuine outreach is the new name of the game. But the game is still the same.

Considering the facts which marketing channel will drive more aspect for the upcoming years. In my point of view if you go for a PPC marketing agency & Sell site auditing and additional SEO services could be the best possibility.

The PPC (Pay Per Click) has a tremendous history when it comes to delivering the result. If you create and optimize the campaign properly and in a cost-effective way. Then this is one of the best ways to reach and convert prospective audiences to business.

Coming to the second part of SEO Services, there is no doubt that SEO is an effective way to generate organic traffic for the brand. If you have skilled resources, this process has the ability to drive more business for you organically.

    Thank You!!

Have you ever heard the phrase "Be a shovel seller instead of a shovel user"? Take a look at selling solo ads.
You can buy the traffic from a legitimate traffic wholesaler.35-50% markup is easily done. Lots of scammers and bot scrapers who sell hit and run crap So you have to do some research to find legit wholesalers who source their inventory from CPM or their own sites.

Takes three or four months to build capacity and reputation before realizing significant profit streams. $50-100k a year thereafter if you manage properly working an hour or two a day. Not a real wealth builder but certainly a lifestyle enhancer

OK we are internet marketers. We should view everything from a marketing perspective. Sometimes we do not have to invent we just need to show people how to make money from it.

"How to Make Money with Tik Tok. That would fly off the shelves.

Love working out to ship wrek by the way.

There are certainly other things that are en vogue now that didn't make your list, but obviously one key will also be to choose something you're both good at/can become good at, and that you think is sustainable / will be around for years to come. May be reading too much between the lines, but it seems from your ideas and brief experience description, that that could lead you down the "one-person agency" route? IMO that could prove very fruitful; as DABK said the key is lasering in on a niche and truly differentiating yourself and your services (which requires research/knowledge of how competitors are positioning themselves and selling that you can use for said differentiation.)

For some broader-range idea inspiration - found both this Forbes article on pandemic businesses, as well as this blurb from Ramit Sethi to be interesting food for thought

All of these come down to the same issue: where are you going to get traffic from?

I caution you that most of these 6 options are platforms, not businesses. The auditing and SEO services is the only one with some focus. Like that option, the stock photography and editorial articles could be much more sharply focused (stock photos about what? For who? Editorial articles related to what topics?)

What you need to do is identify a Buyer and a Seller. Almost everything you've listed here puts you in the middleman position. Someone has a problem, and someone else has the solution, and you are connecting them. That's not a bad idea (airbnb, uber and many others have built large businesses that way) but you must know where the traffic of those interested buyers with their urgent problem comes from.

Get clearer on who you are serving.

According to me the best idea for 2021 is a ready-made marketing product to analyze all the marketing activities including paid campaigns and organic promotions as well. And on the basis of your marketing reports the product will guide you the next steps or marketing platform or target region or approx budget as well.

Content marketing is huge today and if done correctly yields great results. You do not need much technical knowledge for this. It's mainly about writing or creating concept for videos, infographics etc. You'd call this position 'copywriter' in traditional marketing. If you have following skills, you can start a content marketing business:

Basic knowledge of how a CMS works.
    Very good english writing skill
Can think of interesting content ideas
    Knows how social media works
Ability to research on internet for information
There are a lot of companies looking for content marketers. Choosing right eCommerce development platform is also essential with marketing
