It's that time of year again for Spotify Wrapped

Spotify's annual Wrapped feature summarised your listening habits for the year. This year, they designed Wrapped in a stories-style format.

Wrapped, just like the previous years, is a microcosm of your listening for the year -- from top songs and artists to podcasts and genres. Warped also includes quizzes to "test" how well you know yourself. Wrapped also tells you how many minutes you spent listening to your top song.

Meanwhile, Spotify revealed its top charts for 2020 with Bad Bunny as the top-streamed artist globally at more than 8.3 billion streams. Drake, J Balvin, Juice WLRD, and the Weekend are next, respectively.

As for me, my top artist (since 2017) is Westlife, with Cigarettes After Sex, John Mayer, Celine Dion, and Backstreet Boys rounding out the list. What about yours?

Related to the broader streaming industry at large - found this article by Spotify's former chief economist pretty interesting. Holds that while streaming music has grown in terms of user base and songs added, the number of total streams has flattened, leading to a larger pool of songs competing for a fixed number of streams. Speaks to podcasts usage growth (as well as things like Gaming and Tiktok). Be interesting to see if flattened usage is just a blip or a longer term trend..
