Need ideas for a film entertainment website
Don't want to reveal, but lets say it's something like movienews.com (it's not that! Just giving as an illustration).
I wanted some ideas on how to monetise and get content...
Ideas I had:
- recklessly stealing news from everywhere! Is that a bad idea?
- getting content from the scummy but addictive websites that say something like 'stars from the 80's' - but then drip feed you 1 picture and 2 paragraphs of text for every page for 50 pages - each of which have a TON of ads!. I wouldn't plan to have so many ads though!
- affiliate income from the streaming websites? I've no idea what commissions or payment structures are.
- merchandise. I know a few sellers who sell film related merchandise on Amazon.
Videos: not 100% sure where to get from... I guess youtube is the only choice? I see plenty of places that don't use youtube and have a 10-25 second ad from another company play first. Would love to have something like that - I'm guessing they are in more control of the ad and get a higher revenue?
Just looking for ideas.
Thanks.
