Put fliers through your neighbours door offering cleaning or ironing services. I actually find ironing theraputic, and many HATE doing it, it would at least be a way of paying a couple of bills, or could be used as seed money to pay for content creation.

It's still not working for you??? Need direction?...

The obvious answer would be sell sex or meth on the next corner. But since you are here on the warrior forum, you don't wanna hear that.

Internet marketing is NOT a way to make the quickest buck, but is really cool to make a pretty quick buck off a smart line of work.

And one of the easiest way with IM is to go localized. Just stay where you are and set up a whole network of sites that caters for your very localized market and every single aspect of it. Every local boob job, pet shop, tire store - name it, they ALL want your promotion and your ad space.

And they all are in your neighborhood: you already know them. Walk through their door, show them a list of the 200 sites you own, all strictly catering to the localized market in their very own town, and you'll most likely have found a new customer...

Have a close look and you'll surprised how much market space is still left for you RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE NOW!

Still clueless how to do that? We produced a free plugin which helps you to set it up. Look here: wp importer

We also provide a step by step tutorial there to cover the basics. Pretty much fail safe.

I'm sure this is not the answer people are looking for... BUT with that in mind...

If you are in a tight situation and presumably you don't have existing assets or skills you can lean on then what you should do FIRST is get a job.

Find something you're good at (or want to be good at) and make an offer to work a couple days for FREE to prove you are going to be a good fit and the type of person they want to hire.

Very few employers will turn you down with that offer.

Then take the time and effort and put it into learning and applying the skills needed to become successful online. Learn how to drive traffic and create compelling offers. Learn how to pitch.

I just thought of a great idea...

If you have any sort of internet marketing software, which most of us do, just go on Fiverr.com, and create gigs for things you will do for $5 bucks. In order to get a lot of people, offer something that would take some time and provide a lot of value at first, and later on, as you start getting many thumbs up, start reducing the time it takes down to 5 minutes of work.

Always overdeliver so you get promoted by Fiverr team and start getting even more requests. If each job only takes you five minutes, and you make $5 bux each time. That's making $60 bux an hour.

Anyways, that's a start... Actually, I'm gonna go try this now. :-p

if I was REALLY desperate...
I would shut off all the noise.. stop chasing shiny objects
and put 100% of my focus into list building
do the research.. find out who's the best at it...roll up your sleeves
and follow their game plan to the tee.. never waiver
never give up and don't listen to anybody

Awesome thread, full of great advice, I like the idea of offering services to local businesses, I will outsourse untill I get the time to learn how to make a webpage, I have gotten lots of ideas for this off the offline part of this forum.

What do people charge to make websites?

And what do they charge for seo etc?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated
Thanks

If I was desperate, then I will go for simplest but strongest method in chasing the cash.
Building the list , that's a very brilliant idea, simply I can tell.
And obviously it would be used to be gone with affiliate marketing. :p

I am just an ordinary one, yet surrounded by extraordinary ones.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but you could maybe start with a dog walking or pet sitting business. Just search around your area if no one has this type of thing. If not better for you. I hear alot of people making really good money. Just start small and work your way up. Comon you're getting paid to play with owner's dogs! Worth a shot..

I have been trying to make money online without success for 2 years now.
I have spent alot of money on programs ect. but nothing seems to work.
I dont know if it's me or the products I choose, I do try hard to make them work but it just doesnt happen.
Most of the products I try are Clickbank products as these seem to be most popular.
I have sold most of my possesions on Ebay to pay my bills and I now depend on my partner anf my family to make ends meet.
I am unable to get a job due to a neck injury, but I don't give up trying.
I turned to the internet to try to make some money online but still no luck after 2 years of trying.
I noticed with this thread no one is offering any ideas to make money online, so I was wondering is anyone using an online program that works?
I would be in great debt to anyone that can help me.

Thanks for Your Time.

Hi j...

Personally, and I may get some flack for this but I'm going to say it anyway.

The FASTEST way I've found to make money "online" is ... NOT with IM. It takes time to build a list. It takes time to get solid traffic to your website. If you need money NOW, you're not going to want to shut everything out and try to build a list or find someone else's product to sell or write a bunch of articles.

If you need money NOW and if you're like me - literally and physically unable to simply "go out and get a job," or walk someone else's dog or clean gutters, then here's what I would suggest - because it works. This has worked for my best friend, it's worked for me and it's worked for my husband.

Make your own product to sell. Seriously. What do you know how to make and ship that people would like to buy?

My girlfriend knitted golf club covers, listed them on eBay and kept her mortgage from being foreclosed. She didn't have a list! She just put her goods on eBay and they sold - FAST. Cash right into your PayPal account.

When you're desperate for cash, you don't have time to wait 30 days or sometimes even just two weeks for Clickbank or any other affiliate commissions to clear, right? I know I don't!

If you're familiar with eBay, stick with them, but at the same time branch out to other sites that are similar. My husband isn't able to just go out and get a job either. He makes those "redneck wine glasses" and sells them on ecrater and Yardsellr as well as his own website. NO EMAIL LIST.

Sets up a listing and in one weekend he made $150 immediate cash right into his PayPal account.

If you can do videos, try doing some YouTube videos to drive some traffic to your eBay and other listings. As soon as you create your listings, share them on Facebook and Twitter. Ditto with the YouTube videos to get them out there.

Once you have some cash flow, THEN think about buying into some WSO's and doing other things with IM that take time to set up, circulate and make money online with.

But in the meantime, what do you enjoy doing; what can you make that people will buy, what kind of services could you provide that would help people but that don't require you to leave the house or work for an employer?

For instance, when I ended up at home on permanent disability, the first thing I did was hit craigslist.org and researched the gigs. I landed some gigs for doing transcription and had $200 cash in my PayPal account in less than a week. Once I had more gigs lined up and had some 'extra' cash in the account, then I ventured into building a website and learning more about IM.

And I've still found that the fastest way to make some much needed cash - For ME - isn't in affiliate marketing or launching WSO's or building lists. It's selling things that I make that people like to buy, and it's in providing services to people that I like to do that others don't like doing.

And then in your spare time, study the other things in IM like building lists, building websites or blogs and making money that way.

And good luck! You'll get there!

I can only recommend going to local businesses and show them how you could help them to market themselves online. 99% of them know a lot less than you do (when you found this forum)

Awesome Thread btw.

i have a really simple idea, which i haven't yet implemented but will do starting next week.

how about offering SMS to local churches?
they should be really easy to sell.
i will be picking up the phone and making a few hundred calls to set up meetings for the whole week.

i am not saying it works because i haven't tried it but it shouldn't be too hard to sell comparing to a restaurant or any other niche.
anyways i will report back with my results next week.

1. Selling Product on my Blog
When I was a newbie blogger, I was desperate for cash to travel out of town. I had a non-English blog hosted in wordpress.com, and (yeah I know it violated the TOS) I sold an e-book. How can I get it? I downloaded one from a public domain site, translated it, and sold it in local currency for $2, with payment method from offline bank transfer (WP didn't caught this). In several weeks I had 30 sold, hence $60. Small to you, but in my country it's like having a $99.

2. Creating a WSO
What WSO? An idea pops up in my mind if you're in-experienced in IM is a PLR articles in a hot niche that is deeply researched and original.

3. Warriors for Hire
For only $20 you can put your service, and announce it in sig files like crazy.
Services like : article writing, link building, design, etc

4. Paid to Guest Blogging
If you know niches on writing, freelancing, computer, gadget, photoshop, and web-design, you can Google "websites that paid for guest blogging" and they would typically pay somewhere between $50 - $200 per approved article!

5. Crowdsourcing

Joining websites like NamingForce.com, where you'll get paid somewhere between $50 - $1000 for giving company name suggestion. right now mostly for USA citizens only. Competition is tight, but worths a try.

6. Rent Yourself
Don't believe me? There are a lot of lonely people want a paid friend to accompany them watching movie, dinner, etc. Go to rent-a-friend website and you can get paid somewhere between $5 - $20/hour to accompany lonely folks. Right now, for USA citizens only.

7. Focus Groups

I forgot what's the website name, and NO it's not some paid survey scam. You can get paid $20/hour. For USA citizens only....

8. Become a Website Tester

There are a lot of usability test websites that paid their testers $10 per website test. You test 10 websites, that would be easy $100.

My suggestion would be the following :

a) Take out a notebook for IM and start writing your goals that you would like to achieve. This is the first step.

b) You must have your own website. Learn how to design a website. You should be willing to invest on hosting space and domain registration.

c) The best absolute means to make a living online is to first identify the best and most profitable niche market. If you don't how to find out, do some research or look for some successful internet marketer who can guide you.

d) Apply for Bidadvertiser which is similar to google adsense. Be wise and careful not to click the ads yourself to earn some money. Don't do this, else your account will be disabled.

e) Visit Amazon and Ebay sites and see what products interests you to sell.

f) Visit clickbank, shareasale, digitalpoint, commission junction, linkshare and see what products interests you and apply to become an affiliate. Remember to ensure your website is up before applying. Some advertisers reject your application if you don't have your own website.

g) Start driving traffic to your website using all free methods. The free traffic methods are given below :
Social Bookmarking
Directory Submission
Search Engine Submission
RSS Feed Submission
Forum Posting & Commenting
Blog Posting and Commenting
Press Release Submission
One-way Link Building
Social Networking Submission
Podcast Posting
Atom Posting
Classified Ads Posting
Video Posting
Article Submission

Once you are through with this then go for PPC ads and Solo Ads and drive traffic.

If you can implement everything above, you cannot fail.

The problem that you may undergo here is how to do all this. That's where you need to think and do something about it. If you can do by finding resource materials in the internet, do it yourself. Or look for some coach who can help you.

This is a good question and one which I myself had for the longest time when I was trying my hand at offline marketing.
One business rep at Dan Kennedy's office gave me a terrific piece of advice. He told me to check out my competition on craigslist first then add a premium to that price and offer a different or better service. One which makes your service difficult o compare prices for.

I never did find out if it works, but checking your competitors' prices online is certainly one way to go. Just remember the old saying, "Live by the lowest price, die by the lowest price"

BTW, My knee-jerk reaction to making quick moola is to offer services on Craigslist or scour Craigslst/ Kijiji for gigs. I wouldn't recommend trying real, quick and spendable cash by making it online. Not until somebody can prove to me how anyone can do it without fail.

I am desperate and have chosen to write quality articles to several article auction web sites like Constant Content and others (I had a WSO called Elite Content Cash that lists all the premium content sites where you can get $20 to $100 for a good piece).

I am getting into the swing already and will be sitting at my desk reading them into the Dragon Naturally software and hopefully will actually manage to sell some. You can always do iWriter and other places because they pay out quickly but the commissions are low

Hello everyone, newbie girl here. Here is my desparate situation. First off, I've been really driving at trying to succeed IM and I snap up any and every free peicec of advice in all form, even at the cost of being spammed (Yes, I'm that desparate). But here is what I'm "All-woe-is-me". I've seen everything from push button software to Done for you software and believe me when I say, you really can't be lazy when learning. There are so many IM ways of making money it's mind boggling. Every "system" I've tried thus far I can pick out what group they belong to as far as how you operate. But that's beside the point.

I'm desparate to figure out what works for me. What I can do that doesn't make me feel...inadequate. In a short 4 weeks I have learned that traffic is really what makes the money in EVERY system. No matter what. Someone has to see what to buy to buy it, even if it's just a freebie offer, traffic is the keystone. By practicing and public opinion, I've learned one of my strengths is getting traffic and getting people to click the link. Even google has suspended my adwords account on my first done-for-me site cause it was pulling traffic so fast and they tagged me as "Unsafe for users". I used the simple 4 line text ad and in less than two days I had a lot of impressions. I've had this site for less than 4 weeks and putting things into play that I have learned from Warrior Forum and the driving force (The people). My first banner posting of an affiliate offer has gotten over 7000+ views but only 2 clicks (Yay!) I can give you my site links to prove it if you want.

So with all the information around and different systems that do indeed work, mastering the art of pulling traffic isn't doing you much good if you can't find the right system that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. Maybe I should market my skill at advising people how to attract a crowd in the most unlikely places. I can certainly help everyone else succeed but I have nothing to show for it. If someone could point me in a decent direction, I will be forever grateful. Thank you for your time in this rant of a Newbie with little financial leverage but scores of motivation and drive.

all of it comes down to money. If you are really desperate, carding is the fastest way to go. but i don't recommend this haha.

The easiest way:
-sell offline stuff
-if you have buyer list, send offer yo your list

If you need money very quickly start selling some things that you own on eBay or Craigslist. Set the auction on eBay to only 3 days if you need money that fast. A pawn shop is also useful in some cases if you have something lying around your house that is worth anything. What are you good at? We don't exactly know that so think about what you are good at and offer your services at a great price.

There are ways to make quick money offline and online. Some offline ways to make quick money are to offer some sort of service, for example lawn cutting, painting, car washing and window cleaning to name some. The fastest way to make money online is to do affiliate marketing by signing up at a site like clickbank. Article marketing could be used to get traffic to your affiliate links.

Awesome!!

From what I read in your post, it sounds like you're already hitting your stride in the short time you've been doing this - if you've got a handle on traffic, you're miles ahead of most IM'ers! Too bad about your adwords account, but it kinda tells you something if you're attracting "too much" traffic for Google :p I'm not a guru, just a newbie, but it looks like all you need is to get a little monetization going to complement your traffic skills.

As far as feeling inadequate? Just get used to it And get used to feeling unsure, unconfident, uneasy, un-nerved, and sometimes undone. We all have those feelings, especially when trying something new. But push through all those feelings, and I think you'll do fine!

I just added this sig so I can refer to it in my posts...

I think this is where Fiverr kicks in when offering a service. How times change from 2009 until 2012.

Thanks for the constructive words . I'm to the point of selling the list of keywords I used to get booku hits in less than a week. All the keywords in my adwords campaign Placed between 2.5 and 40. I think that's good for a first go. But yes I need Monetzation help, badly. Oh yea My campagin ran from Apr 27-May 3. My ad went live on Apr 30. My number of hits was about 2600 impressions. Think I need to discuss this with someone on another board, just not sure which one. Any help, appreciated

Great thread but it seems to me that some posters are missing the point.

Most of us do have the goal of building a long term business, but even if that is our main focus, there are things that sometimes do happen that are out of our control.

I think the real spirit of this thread is, even if you are building a long term business, emergencies still happen, and when they do how do you handle them? Or how have you handled them in the past?

Example, you could be making $5,000/month, but let’s say that you have expenses of $4,500/month including living expenses and monthly business expenses.
That leaves you with only $500/month free to play around with. Most people have even less money to play with.
Now, let’s say that a huge tree that has been growing in your neighbor’s yard has just fallen on your house from that storm that just blew through your town. And there is a huge hole in your roof, and it’s still storm season and another storm is expected within 2 days.
The bill to fix your roof is going to cost you $1,500. What do you do?
Do you only focus on long term strategies?
No
You want to have a few short term strategies that can bring in quick cash to cover this emergency.

Maybe you just lost a job that you thought was secure
Maybe your were in a car accident and you need to come up with cash quickly to rent a car because you need that transportation for your 80 year old father who can’t get around by himself
Or you are hit with an unexpected tax bill

Having a balance of long term and short term strategies is smart thinking. And knowing when to use which strategies will increase your chances of success in any type of business online or offline.

Having both types of strategies gives you options and choice. I for one know that a lot of these strategies are going to go into my war chest so when I need them I can pull them out and create a cushion for those hard times.

On a final note, it is a mistake to think that because you are focused on the long term and building a business that you will not get hit with a short term emergency.

I used to be a bartender in florida, and in that profession you move around quite a bit, you basically go where the money is at. Sometimes you are even forced to leave a job because a bar closes or just loses clients.

Anyway my point is this.

During my over 10 years of bartending, I had many downtimes, in between jobs, when I needed to make extra money to make ends meet.

One thing that I did, which honestly was a great experience. Was "DAY LABOR".

I went EARLY in the morning to a day labor office in my area, and just like everyone else, filled out a few quick forms, sat on a chair, then went to work when they offered a job.

The great thing about this, is that you are paid DAILY!

You will not get rich, but you will make money, anywhere from 50 - 150 a day depending on the job.

You may say thats not much money, and your right. But ANY money is better than no money at all, especially when you are out of work.

It was physical work for the most part, but not so physical that any person could not do it. Women included. You can't have hangups about people or prejudices, and if you do, you will get over it....

You earned your money, felt good at the end of the day because you actually accomplished something, and you got paid for it. Did I mention I also slept very well afterwards because of the physical labor involved.

Well, thats about it, thats my suggestion if you are desperate. You do not even need a car, as long as you can get there, many times someone else will have a car who gets picked to work with you.... and you can carpool...

Don't forget to throw them a buck or two for gas.... even if they are too nice to ask....

Re: What to do if you're desperate

Here are two things that I use to make some quick cash, not necessarily in an emergency but they can be used when an emergency pops up.

The first strategy is to sell those glow in the dark sticks and glow in the dark necklaces. Usually you see them at carnivals, and on the 4th of july.

They are extremely cheap to buy, like $0.12 each, and I would sell them for $3-$5 each.

In one night I made like $500 - $800. On the 4th of July I do even better.

The second thing is fixing cracked IPhone and Ipad screens.

This is so easy to do, you don't need any technical skill at all. After I dropped my Iphone and cracked the screen I went to a guy that fixed my friends Iphone. He told me he wasn't fixing Iphones anymore and said to do it myself, and that it was extremely easy.

He gave me a repair kit for free (usually they are $20) and told me to search youtube as there are a ton of videos showing step by step how to repair cracked Iphone screens.

So I found 2 videos watched them and then repaired my IPhone. It took me all of 40 minutes.

I told a couple of friends what I done and they told me about their friends who needed their Iphone repaired. So I looked online for my city to see what the going rate to repair these screens were, $80 for IPhone 3Gs and $130 for IPhone 4/4s.

My costs were $20 for IPhone 3Gs and $80 for IPhone 4/4s for the repair kits, and away I went.

That first two weeks I made just over $600.

Now, I do it full time and spend about 20 hours a month repairing Iphones and Ipad screens and I am making around $2,300 a month.

Shane_k

PS, if you want to really see how easy it is to fix cracked IPhone screens look up some videos on youtube and you will see.

find a business model you like and start pegging away at it until it becomes a big enough income stream. This could be anything really - it doesn't matter, as long as you have some income coming in already.

The fastest and easiest way to get direct cash in your pocket is by starting a service online. This can be anything that you have a skill in writing, voicover, video creation etc.

You can set up free gigs on sites like Fiverr or list your service on Forums. Get clients to pay up front at a discounted rate. Once you have a few reviews and clients under your belt you can put up your price a little.

This can be a great way to get some income and invest further into your business.

I will never forget the first time I met him. He is the classic wino-looking hobo, with terrible clothing, scraggly hair and grey Santa beard. It is hot in Texas Summer, and the AC in the car was broken, which I'm sure helped the fight I was having with my wife.

"Damnit" I said, pulling up next to him and getting stuck at the red light. I never give money to charity as it is very much against my personal beliefs. Then, I read his sign, which said:

"Wife has PMS AND a handgun... I need to bring home the bacon!" My wife and I both burst out laughing, and he saved our "date night" with that one... I gave him $5 for making us laugh (and getting my wife to hold my hand) and he immedidately tried to upsell me!

"Hey, can I borrow your car, man? I'll bring it right back, I promise!"

Then, ..."You laugh, but some people fall for it. Really, oh yes they do! That's how I got here!"

Since then I have seen his many other signs:

"Ninjas killed my family, I need money for karate lessons!"
"Why lie? I just want a beer..."

And, at the heighth of the recession in 2009, when foreclosures were a constant threat to people around the country and even the world:

"Losing your $150,000 home? Don't worry!
There is room under my $80,000,000 bridge!"

He also gave a couple of signs to his girlfriend, who only has one leg:

"Please help, I'm standing on my last leg!"
"Anything helps... I've already got one foot in the grave!"

(If any Austin Warriors are reading this, I'm sure you've seen "Spencer". How much money have you given him? Actually now that I think about it, maybe I should drive down there and hire him to write some stuff for me!)

My point in all of this toothless murmuring?

Ultimately, if you're desperate, find something that everyone else is doing really poorly, and change it into something that entertains people and makes them smile or laugh... Common homeless signs in Austin read, "Even 50 cents is a blessing" and "Homeless Vet, Hungry" playing to the same old "guilt" and "shame" emotions that every other homeless person does. Those people struggle to make $20 per day.

Most of the population is full of procrastinators (Is that part of how you got yourself into a desperate situation to begin with?) and so trying to convince them to give you money with negative emotions is not enough. Sell them something that entertains them, however, and make them feel good, and they will spend impulsively.

Hope this helps.

A picture for your enjoyment:

The bartender says: "We don't serve faster-than-light particles here."

...A tachyon enters a bar.

The basis of every economy is providing a service.

A person can't do everything themselves. So, if one person specializes in farming, for example and another in making flour and another in baking bread, they're each providing services that the other needs. That's the basis of an economy.

So, you want to look at your skill set and see what service you can provide. If you're really desperate, it comes down to what service can you do yourself?

There are so many ways to make money by providing services. I'll give you some examples:

1. Teach something you know well. That can also be related to consulting on the subject once you have a client base.

2. Learn some new skill that you can use to provide a service. For example, EFT is very popular now and it can solve many peoples' problems. You can learn it for free online and start treating people with it without a license.

3. You can buy goods in one area and resell them in another. This is what people have done for generations.

There are many more ways to make money providing a service. This is just to give you an idea.

We do the same thing online with our businesses. We're either selling someone elses' items, giving or selling education, or providing some type of service that people need.

The key to pay attention to what people are looking for and provide for that need. Every cash transaction is an exchange for a need that is not yet filled. Find that need and fill it and you'll make money. The greater the need the easier it is to fill it.

Hi Lisa,

How do you go about doing the research of niches? I seem to be really good at researching low competition profitable keywords but how can I make money doing that, can you teach me your method? I'm going to spend a lot of time thinking now because you've opened up my eyes to something new and interesting

I had a lady purchase from me once, asked me to come up with 10 website names that are available .com domains and I also made a slogan to accompany each site, she happily paid $75 for the research but these were not even keywords that I researched, instead they were what sounded good to me and she loved them, she said last time she had huge success with a domain I came up with for her, must have gotten really lucky but now I understand how to do keyword research , it's all about understanding how search engines function and what indexing is etc.... she gave me a theme to work around, it was to do with helping others publish their book.

I think there might be a good business in researching profitable keywords and making a domain for others around a subject they would like to start a business with.

This is an excellent thread. I agree with the majority that services are definitely the way to go! In the words of Travis Sago:

1) Find a hungry crowd
2) Find out exactly what they're hungry for
3) GIVE IT TO THEM!

Whatever you do, don't give up and don't give in! Remember, pain is only temporary, but if you quit PAIN IS PERMANENT! Work, fight, and push through the pain! PAIN IS TEMPORARY! You can do it! You must! CK

I have a desperate situation, and I'm looking for advice. For details, read this post and the links contained within.

If you really don't want to read it, then let me boil it down for you. I owe a collection agency $4,000 to pay off the last remaining bit of my student loan. I don't have a job (I'm looking), come from a small town of 300 people, and have managed to stay fed through mowing lawns and related things, as well as through IM.

In order to pay off the loan, I've sold my car, laptop, and TV. I don't have cable, don't eat out, and basically just survive from one day to the next.

I've tried services on Fiverr, once created a website selling services (no traffic and couldn't afford to continue hosting it), and once managed to net a whole $50 from selling services on Digital Point Forums.

Basically, I've done just about everything I can think of to erase the debt (according to a letter I got, not even bankruptcy and death could erase it, so that rules out suicide and declaring bankruptcy), but I need $4,000 within 30 days. No, I don't have any money to put towards starting some new Internet thing, and I've resorted to cyber begging of all things.

What should I do? Continue cyber begging? What if no one helps me? How do I possibly get that kind of money that fast when no one around me needs any of the services I can perform?

In any business, the secret is to be dedicated, focused, determined and taking massive action. Everyone will incur business expenses and it's a good idea to reinvest the profits
