If you're experienced in some internet field (web design, free lance writing, tutoring, ext), try freelancing. oDesk.com is a great place for freelancers! Until you get established with several positive reviews under your belt, it will be difficult to obtain high paying jobs. However, by taking in lesser paying jobs and establishing credit, you can still make some decent money; it all depends on how much you're willing to work.

Here is another quick way to make money. Fiverr.com You post what you can do for five bucks. Like write an article for 500 words, write ten press releases, or whatever you can do. Then people will pay you to do the job you posted. You can do up to 10-20 a day. I even sold a few old books I had laying around. It is a way to get out a really tough spot. Good luck.

Ps. What if instead of hunting people down until they begged you to stop... pre-qualified prospects actually sought you out and asked you what you do and how you do it? Click here.

When I was laid off from my position I knew I would only be happy working for myself. I also knew that the Internet is a great way to reach your audience. I am passionate about helping people and that is what inspires me in the online business. I joined a membership where I was taught how to create my own website and start an online business. I didn't have a product of my own so I decided to become an affiliate. As a member I was given a web template that I configured to my personal details and my personal links. I purchased a domain name with GoDaddy.com for $12.99 per year and registered for an account with AWeber for $19.99 per month. This is email marketing software that you upload your personal emails to reach people. I configured my website in Kompozer and uploaded it using Filezilla. Both are very easy to use. It took me a week to complete everything. Another aspect is resizing your photos and you need a software to do that such as IrFanview. Now I focus on advertising my website on Craigslist and writing articles. Another way to generate traffic is to participate in google JV Giveaways. It takes time and dedication to have success with your online business, but if you have a good mentor and follow proven strategies, you will succeed! |

This is a great thought to always revisit. We discussed this issue many times before on the old forum (and I'm sure new one as well). Old forum is here: The Warrior Forum - Main Discussion Forum We had a contest back in 2008 to win a copy of Traffic Secrets in return for responding how you'd "start over" had you had to in Internet Marketing. Although its from 2008, its still, very, relevant today. http://www.warriorforum.com/contest.pdf Download this PDF. I highly recommend it. My personal recommendation is on page 9 of the PDF. I still stand by it (and subsequently won a copy of Traffic Secrets from that post).

As you can see - there are plenty of ways and great suggestions by everyone on here regarding how to make some quick cash. My advice for someone in a tight spot is this : Stick to 1 method, and see it through until you are making some money. Otherwise you'll just be jumping from one thing to the next, never mastering anything and never actually making decent money. Stick to one method and master it ! Hope that helps! ~S |

For quick cash, a would suggest offering a service, posting a few gigs on fiverr, or launching a WSO. The WSO would have to be something that really helped people. That being said, it doesn't have to be a WSO based around "making money online". It could be a tool that would help make a certain task easier. Another option would be printing out fliers promoting a CPA offer. Match the offer to the target audience. Think something like 'FREE NFL JERSEY" then dropping them all basketball stadiums, sports bars and colleges. Do a little thinking outside the box. If you have a little time and want to make consistent money online- I recommend publishing to amazon KDP. I made my first money (4 figures in a month!) online that way. Carpe Diem, -Ryan Leonard |

It's been a long time since I last did some digging in that goldmine thread. As I continue going through newer posts, I realize that there are more and more ideas that I could benefit from spending some time on! Far from the IM world and its never ending "get rich fast working 10 minutes a day" promises (I am interested in actually meeting face to face someone making 6 figures or more who works less than half time), I thought I should share... Over the past 4 - 5 months, I subscribed to a few mistery shopping agencies in France (which is where I am from). I am sure you all have at least heard about mystery shopping. For those who haven't, basically, it is about getting paid for acting as a real customer willing to purchase a service, an article or even going to a restaurant (free food + money in the pocket). All major brands (and more and more smaller companies) use mystery shopping as a tool to improve their customer service; I am sure you would be able to grab a few assignments near you if you dedicate a few efforts. On my best month so far, I have earned 700 $, working really not more than 2 full days altogether. All it requires is an Internet connection (which I am sure you have) and a car to reach the target shops. You won't get rich out of it, but you can do it off your free time, and it helps pay the bills Let me know if this helps |

Fastest way to make money if you are in a tight spot find out what your are good at and offer those services to local business in your area. For example, if you know how to setup facebook account there are so many businesses that would pay for this simple thing. Charge them $97-$297 to set this up for them. Even offer to throw in a free fan page setup. If you're not sure how to do this there are tons of free youtube videos that will show you how to do that. |

Go to entrepreneurship events and network. A lot of successful entrepreneurs are usually looking for people to mentor! Who knows you'll meet someone who will be willing to guide you through your journey to success. Right now, my two current mentor in my internet marketing journey is Jayson Masters and Stuart Tan, both respectable internet marketers in their own right and meet up with them at least once every 2 weeks. So yeah, go out and meet the right people! |

Many shops that are little out of sight such not being on the main high street but off it always are on the look out to hire someone who can be a human billboard for them i.e hold a shop placard to direct walkers by to their existence. So its just matter of approaching them sincerely and negogiating wages for your labor. |

Easy enough finding something that someone else will do, and offering it at 10% less. That doesn't mean you will make any money at all, because it's not what is offered that makes money, it's how you get someone to give you money for it. The person offering the service you are selling at 90% the price, might have spent decades building their reputation and networking with clients they know personally, or be the world's best coywriter, or whatever, so it is very very easy to offer things at 90% the price (or at any price!), and higher quality, better service etc. and still make ZERO. I know because I've done it many times Good thread here in general Chris

Just like to say this is such an awesome thread and cannot believe it is still going. I have tried a few methods and they are decent ways of getting a bit of money if you are desperate. One thing I would say though is that in fiverr, you only actually get $4 profit for your tasks. Not five. Just saying, as 20% is a bit margin when talking about desperate situations.

I used to be in the tight spot when I first started my Internet Marketing business in College. Here's what I do: 1. Sell off your unused items on eBay. Look at the list of items you don't use in the last 6 months and sell them off. If you don't use it in the last 6 months, you probably are not going to use it anyway. 2. Use the money to buy cheap stuff from garage sale. Find an upscale neighborhood and buy the stuff there. People there usually sell really great stuff for cheap. It helps to have a data plan with you so you can check the current eBay price before deciding to buy the item. 3. Rinse and repeat. I have used this method to raised $2000+ when I was strapped on cash. Sure, it takes some work to do but you will learn a lot + earn money at the same time. This is how I got started doing IM. After I earned the money, I used it to pay off debts, etc. and use the remaining to build websites, etc. Hope this helps. |

If you are really desperate? I mean REALLY? I hate to say it, but it would be much better to get a regular job, have some stability, save up for some starting capital, and THEN try IM. This is because the reality is, even if you're doing SEO by yourself, it takes money to make money. If you can't even pay your rent, domains and a hosting account is going to be impossible even though it's nothing for most of us. Sometimes, desperation can lead to massive action which WORKS. More common, however, is that desperation fuels a downward spiral into progressively more desperate actions without thinking LOGICALLY and critically. Logical thought is really a prerequisite to success in IM. You've got to have a cool head. Can you keep a cool head when your landlord is breathing down your neck for last month's rent, or when you can't pay your heating bill? Only once you've got a safety net of a few thousand dollars would I then advise going into SEO or even PPC+CPA (but be very careful with budget/ROI and learn LOTS before even starting your first campaign). |

JB, I agree that despair will not lead to something positive, but sometimes, you need to be really stressed out to understand that it is time to change something in your life. I think it depends on each person. Some act when they are on the edge.. Brian, thanks for your detailed answer. I keep reading and learning about IM and related issues. |

A good way to make some quick money not knowing the person's skills. I would say go to craigslist closest to their area and search the gigs.

If you desperately need money there are plenty of ways to do it fast but what you probably want is a short learning curve. The best way to do it is not get a JOB as that will take you 2-3 weeks to get your first check AND use up too much time. What you want to do is sell some things on Craigslist and ebay. You can generate some fast cash if you are determined to do so. NOTHING is easy if you don't know what you are doing so you can't have the mindset of quitting something when you meet with so obstacles. To start sell some of your own stuff and then parlay that into more items found at thrift stores or preferably flea markets. Use a smart phone to look up completed items on ebay to find good bargains that you will sell on ebay and craigslist. You want to at least double your money selling on Craislist and a little more on ebay. Stick to items like small appliances, smaller electronics, and clothing(if you are familiar with higher cost brands). Just get the item name and model number and search completed items on ebay for what they actually sell for. You will soon find that items that have value have certain characteristic like being made in countries other than China or weight/durability or popularity from advertising, etc. Example is the Roomba Vacuum cleaners. I pick them up for generally for $10-$30. The batteries are almost always bad but you can sell them like that for $30 to $150 depending on the model number. Also if you want to buy a battery(online) you can add $30-$50 on top of that. These are popular and sell fast. I look at things this way. If I were in desperate times and needed money quickly I could probably get a quick job paying $8-$10 an hour. Or I could spend 2 hours on a Saturday, go to the flea market and get a few items and earn $200. Put in another 2 hours for processing and shipping brings you to a minimum of $50 an hour. An with discipline I can do this day in and day out. Now I'm not suggesting that for the long term as I suggest learning about affiliate marketing always but I am saying that for quick money that is almost guaranteed a JOB is not an option. I wrote a course about selling on ebay but it is not geared toward people on this forum. Ultimately in order to secure your future success you want to learn affiliate marketing through this forum and others and then create a valuable product of your own. Kendall |

Well let me see their was a time when everyday was a tough one, then it dawned on me to build a list with what I had at the time to work with. Then something came a crossed my desk that looked really good so I gave it a try. It came from a woman named Laura, anyway I got the ebook that was free it all made so much sense anyway I got the program and still use it to this day. Some days are 150 some 70 and some even 300 and it all started with a free ebook the link is in my profile still.

Thank you so much for that post! I get so tired of people coming to threads like this and saying "Get a Job!". OK - We're all grown-ups with functioning brains. We know that getting a job is the standard thing people do when they loose a job. But for emergencies, desperate situations, etc. where you need money quick, a JOB ain't gonna work! Even if you are in an area that doesn't have double-digit unemployment (not sure where that'd be nowadays), it takes time to go through the interview process, then wait for an HR department to take it's sweet time to make a decision... then if you do get hired, you'll wait at least one if not two weeks or more for your first paycheck. By the time that's all done, the emergency is long passed. I'm not deriding people who want to help - I appreciate anyone willing to give any honest advice - but can we just assume that the "get a job" advice is a given, and concentrate on other advice? (like jrgattison's - really like that one - thanks again!) joe
I just added this sig so I can refer to it in my posts...

I recently setup a gig on fiverr, i offered to make a php script to that would mange data in a browser, i got no response to my gig but i did get a lot of people asking to do big jobs that would take many hours and they tell you they will make a few $5 order to get the job done I tried one out and I made about 40 bucks but it was really time consuming and in the end I was loosing on the deal, only use fiverr if you have a gig that you can do very quickly, it should not take more than 5-10 min to complete your gig. If you can get a couple of these in a day you are on your way to making some money. |

FOLLOW YOUR VISION. Sit and write down on a piece of paper: -what your goals are; -what you like to do; -what you want to do; -What you don't like to do; etc. After you are done with that, and already know what you want, carefully choose your information on how to do it. What separates successful people from non-successful, is that successful people have a vision and follow it. They also do what they love to, not just anything, but what they love to. If you do something just because you have to, you will push yourself to do it for a while but then you will stop. After you get your vision, goals and everything set up, and get done with learning, comes thinking about money. And because there is no one way of making money, and there is definitely no right way, choose somebody who you think knows how to do it and observe what and how he does it. And now something every successful businessman says: Don't start a business only for the money. |

I would probably suggest selling some stuff through Craigslist if you needed the money like NOW. If you're talking about a few weeks then any site that pays you through PayPal would be good because you can deposit it into your bank account.

In theory, you're right but I can tell you after finally finding a JOB after three years of unemployment, I STILL can't make more than I spend on rent and utilities. I don't have luxuries like cable or fast internet (I have the slowest internet you can get, Cricket, which is the cheapest) and I don't eat out. I have a Master's degree but unfortunately, it's in a field that is saturated and never pays well (Social Services). Am I happy to be employed? Of course, but I also don't have the ability to create an emergency fund at this point and I work approximately 50-60 hours a week and can't just pick up another job. So saving money when you're employed isn't always an option.

First you want to take a look at what expenses you can cut down on. If you are eating out too much maybe start cooking. Buy a coffee maker, cut down on cable, get the cheaper internet service, downgrade your phone plan. Substitute name brand for generic. Start selling things on Craigslist or E-bay...find ways to make money instead of spending more. If it comes down to it donate money for plasma, rent out your car, etc. |

What I am trying to do is set up a webinar One on One for someone who sees te sig and will meet me at 2PM our time. I hope so, but, we will be expanding as soon as we can. I have been asked 20 times at least what Outsourcing geo arbitrage was and how to go about making it profitable. Will have second one likely tomorrow or Monday ,possibly one on one, we don't know yet. We will see how these turn out.

This is a great thread...Obviously better to stay close to the year 2012 for relevant advice. I don't think Fiverr was even in existence when this thread was started!! I've been building my list, and learning for about 3 months now...I'm getting close to actually making some money...I have around 2000 subscribers now. Funds are really low and I could living on someones couch soon (if I can find someone)... But it's coming together, there's a financial dip being filled by my selling everything I own of value until money starts to flow This thread has some great ideas Thanks Edit: You know what they say; Necessity is the mother of invention! |

Desperate people tend to stay at home, and they need to be reminded that there's a world outside. Go out really, and when you're out: . Visit small shops that may need some help with basic online stuff (like creating a website, or a Facebook page), . Join small business events in your area, and meet small business owners who may need some help with promoting their business. There are really really a few people out there, who know as much as you know about internet stuff. - I'm assuming you're not living in a high-tech area like The Valley - And some non-IM stuff I just learned: You can sell scrap metal to your local salvage yard. Also, you can talk to the people at your local recycling center (if you have one - and I hope you do) about what you can sell to them. If you live near a beach, there's another opportunity for you. Go get a metal detector, go to the beach, look for coins and cans. Everything will be fine. Stay strong. I know because I survived such tough times, too. |

The quickest way to make money is to provide unique content, offer your services in places like iwriter or textbroker. I attempted both and found I love to write and now looking into being a content provider. No, I did not have previous experience. When you are desperate for making cash, then you may discover an ability you did not know you had and be able to monetize long term. You may also use it down the road as something to fall back on should your current venture or learning curve need you to further invest. To sum it up, whether you provide content or some other service think of freelancing your service till you get back on your feet. |

Unemployment is at its highest, the cost of living keeps climbing, utilities costs keep rising, bank fee's keep increasing, corporate monsters are beginning to collapse in on itself, credit card company's are raising fee's and interest rates, federal student loan debt are out of control (due to the weak economy, people are going back to school to be a more competitive and skilled worker), federal assistance services are also at a all time high(food stamps, HUD, Sec8, wellfare, disability, SSI,etc..). It is not surprising that people are becoming desperate. We are facing hard times, with hard decisions. I think that is is important that we do not ACT desperate, As that will only make your situation worse(financially, and mentally). You will react to stressful situations with a clouded sense of urgency, causing you to make bad choices in bad situations.
"If you do what you always did, You will always get what you always got!" ~Albert Einstein's Definition of Insanity. sorry that is my favorite quote from Albert Einstein. Use or develop a talent of yours, and cultivate this talent of yours. Like in my situation, I was a full time student earning a BS in IT Networking, with a strong passion for anything computerized. I was in a bad spot as I still had to pay rent, power, electricity, etc...but with no real income, your student loans diminish fast. I had to figure somthing out FAST. So I started offering computer repair and virus removal services locally in my area from Craigs List. This kept me busy and brought in a extra $200.00 to $500.00 a month. Now at this point I started planing my next step needed to double my current income. This of course took some time and a lot of research to find an arena that I could compete in. After about two years of School, running my little business I had started, researching various niches and of course saving a little cash for a investment, I saved up $674.00. Owning a McDonald's franchise was out of course, but never the less I still had a little bit to bring to the table. Now the fact that I was going to school to be a system administrator in some fashion, I thought "hell, I'll start my own web hosting and webdesign company. This idea took a little while to wrap my had around but I made it happen. I bought my first server from eBay and various parts needed. The server cost me $284.95 with free shipping and $100.00 a month for internet. After a little extra work and no sleep some day's, I finally had a real business with real customers paying me real cash each and every month. Well enough about me, back to you..lol. You have to have passion for what you do. "Tyson, why do I have to have passion?" Well that is a easy one. This will be a business that you will operate, run, manage, each and every day, so you will need that talent and passion to get you through the tough moments, and yes you will have them. Having a deep passion for what you are doing will also benefit you in the customer service area of your business. Think about it, how many times have you walked into a store and the clerk is less than pleased to see you? In fact this person is just flat out rude. It realty shows that this employee loves his/her job. You will most definitely think twice about spending your hard earned money with that business. And when your the owner of this company, this is a very bad deal. Because customers talk to other potential customers, so no repeat business or word of mouth business. As we have discussed the economy is horrible, and consumers are holding on to those dollars your trying to earn. So you have to have a great service/product, excellent customer relations, and a good price. I also think that you need to also understand that you might not get rich overnight. Don't set yourself up for failure by thinking "Next week I will be a millionaire". Use your brain, not your emotions. As far a what to do to earn money, Sorry I cant provide you a step by step work from home system, that will make everyone who reads it rich. Everyone is unique with different levels of motivation, and work ethic. But heck, we are members of the Warrior Forum, right(hint, hint)? If you want it, and are willing to put in whatever it takes to create your financial success story, YOU WILL EARN IT! And remember, make your money work for you. Don't work for your money! ...........sorry for the book,LOL. |

The thing is, in these days of economic doom, people tend to save their money. They don't buy. You post an ad on Craiglist or on eBay or somewhere else, and your unwanted items may go unsold. However, places like recycling centers, salvage yards, etc. almost always buy. Especially if they're supported by government sources. If your items are suitable, of course. |

The total things have gone to complicated. Everyone has his own own with his own sets of skills. What problems and situation I faced may not be same for you. The environment and circumstances have also effect on this. I just started with writing articles. It will be nice if someone comes up with an e-book. That will be more helpful.
