If you have a spare room in your house or apartment, advertise it on Air B&B. Fix it up into a nice looking guest room (you don't have to spend a ton of money, as the shabby chic look will work fine). You will do better if you live in a metropolitan area. My partner manages bookings for a guy who has a nondescript house near a major airport and an absolutely gorgeous house on a lake, complete with space for 8-10 people and a home movie theater room, but guess which one is booked up all the time? The one near the airport! Most of the renters are in town for an event or conference and don't want to stay in a hotel for whatever reason, or taking a class at a nearby training facility. If you have a car with less than 100K miles on it and you don't use it all the time, offer it for rent on RelayRides.com. Both of these will do better if you spend some time marketing them online with a facebook page or on instagram. You can also offer your services as a manager of other people's Air B&B rentals and marketing (taking/touching up photos of their guest space, managing a FB page) for a percentage of the rent payments. That is one of my partner's side hustles, she gets 10% of each booking. We also have a pickup truck we rent out on Relay Rides. My regular car was slowly getting less reliable, and I basically only drive back and forth to work and on a few errands and outings each week. My partner did a bunch of research on Relay Rides and on vehicles and we bought the truck for about $9K with a car loan from our credit union. Our advertising consists of a listing on the Relay Rides site, a "fan page" for the truck on FB where she posts photos of the truck's adventures (for example, someone rented it the other day to go about 90 min. out of town for a truckload of pumpkins, and we have a pic of the loaded truck to post), and magnetic "rent me" signs on the doors and tailgate. When the truck isn't rented, I drive it as my main vehicle and park it in conspicuous corners of parking lots when I go about my business. I also drive it on several slow loops of the parking lot of any home improvement center I pass by on my travels Anyway we have been doing that for about 2 months and have been making enough to cover the car note with a bit left over. We still have the slowly dying car for a backup for me to get around on days when the truck is rented. So to sum up, if you have a room in your house or a vehicle that you don't use all the time, look into "sharing economy" sites to get some money from others who want to use it. I can recommend both AirBNB and RelayRides from personal experience, first using both of the them for rentals when traveling ourselves, and as providers as well. Not necessarily something for when you are desperate and need cash today, but another potential income stream to help keep the desperate times at bay! However, I would NOT recommend doing ride sharing through Uber. They seem to be working their contractors like dogs and not taking care of them at all. |

My Grandmother told me, "When you need money in a hurry, it's time to borrow money, or to sell something." Selling just means running around your house, making a pile of stuff you can live without, stuff with as much value as possible (cameras jewelry tv etc.) Then sit at the computer, with the telephone in arm's reach. Do an eBay search, then Amazon, for each item, so you know what item cost range is. Write your price (half of new price) on a sticky note, and stick it on the item, so you don't have to look anything up when you're on the phone. Then post the item on your local Craigslist or backpage, and offer it for your ridiculously low price. Describe everything you can about it, lovingly. You should have tears running down your face, how much you love it and hate to let it go, and write that all into your post. Post that immediately, ten minutes maximum. Then post the next one. then the next, until you have them all listed. Make sure they stay posted. Renew them, until items sell. While you wait for Buyers to call you, start looking for cash jobs (gigs) on Craigslist, and call them. If somebody wants you to do something legal for money, say "Yes I can," and arrange how you can do the job and then meet for payment. When Buyers call, tell them you'll meet at a nearby public place (Starbucks), not your house or their house. Show it to them, let them look at it, then agree on a price, and get paid. Next! This isn't hard, you just must actually do it. Don't just think or make a plan. This is the plan. I've had to do it a couple times in my life, and if you really try, you'll get through this bad patch. Don't quit! That's the main thing. |

Hi everyone, first post here. Some really great advice. I think the main thing to do when in trying circumstances is to keep researching and looking for new avenues. I was once struggling financially, stuck in a rut with my job. I felt I pigeon holed myself with my career and completely dismissed other forms of business. One day I decided to explore other ways of creating extra revenue. This led me to start something completely different. So my advice is don't tie yourself down to one form of income. Research other theatres of income, it certainly worked for me. |

I was made redundant aged 55, no hope of getting another job and not prepared to give up my lifestyle so had to just work through it. Many good and useful posts here already on what to do when your back is to the wall so will not repeat. One piece of advice though, in the first instance develop multiple income streams, run with the successful ones and drop those that are not giving acceptable income for time spent. Keep an open mind and research everything, spend money wisely. |

When I was on unemployment and needed more money... I simply sold any of my personal belongings I could get my hands on. It definitely helped, went right on eBay. If that didn't work out, I would have probably gone door to door offering services. |

I know that asking you to spend money when you are short on it, is probably the wrong approach, but I wanted to recommend a terrific book that I read back in the day. You might ocnsider it outdated, but the processes outlined in the book was really useful. If you have a few bucks and some time, I think it is a good investment. "Too Lazy To Work, Too Nervous To Steal." by John Clausen. Great read, shows you how he built a business up from scratch. |

Yea I tried the craigslist method and the gigs that were being offered said you need 2 or 3 years experience in the gig that was being offered and most were things I had no clue how to do. Even something so simple as offering to help someone move from one house or office space to another the people were saying must have 2 years of moving work experience and when I offered I couldn't provide them references stating I worked in moving since I have never worked for a moving company so that was out. I tried offering my services as a graphic and web designer and recent college graduate but I live in a very small town and everyone was asking for minimum experience and portfolio. Problem is I just graduated college recently so I don't have a portfolio yet (but am working on it). I could offer to do the work free of charge but then I wouldn't get paid and the other bills I have to pay would go unpaid. The best I could do was sell my unwanted and uneeded things on eBay which I already did but now I am back to where I started. Still searching for another job and my savings is drying up slowly but surely. Well either way thanks for this post I will go through more of the pages here and see what I can find. |

If you are really desperate, go to locally owned businesses and offer work for barter or fast cash. Corporate places have processes to go through for hiring, but local owners will often help you out if they can. I ate for free for 2 months once by offering to help in exchange for food at a local produce store. She didn't need help during the day, but she asked me to come in and help her close up at night, which I did. She gave me all the produce she was tossing out, which was still very usable -- maybe bruised, maybe a little dried out, but edible. For an hour a day, I had all the food I could use and some to give away to others.

Nice, relevant quote from an excellent movie!
THIS, .....PLUS....... See that whatever services you are providing flows through your affiliate tags (if you have any), so that you receive affiliate commissions as well as cash for the overall service! Their hosting through HostGator, SEO service through your affiliate service of choice, etc, etc... CHA-ching!
I didn't think you could use affilate links on the free wordpress blogs. Have they changed that rule? I'd like to hear more on this story. Did the conversions skyrocket with the traffic? Did it reach a middle plateau? What has occurred since you posted this? Would it be asking too much to ask you post numbers? I am very curious, and interested. Thanks. Create an Ezine....sub out articles to proven writers and offer a free subscription to ppl who buy from company X, of which you are an affiliate. The main feature is you can set up "sub accounts" that let your customers log in and have access to the stats. This lets both you and your customers know how many calls were generated through your services. And, the stats are tracked by a third party which gives the stats more credibility. For this business model, you would charge for leads (phone calls), not sales. You can also create sites and videos (posted on Youtube) and rent out the video, changing the forwarded number in the service (but not in the video) if you get a new client. It has a 14 day free trial, so you have two weeks to get a client and have them pay you. Or, wait until a client pays then set it up. Yea I would love to know the answer to that as well. If I did I bet I could get my gigs to sell like hotcakes but sadly I don't think there is a magic push button method to promote your gigs most of it is based on luck from what I can see and from my experiences as a seller. |

If people are that desperate IM is not going to turn a quick profit, you'd probably be better to go to your local store or bar and ask for casual work. Then get stuck into IM and reap the medium term benefits. |

How does one go about finding a trustworthy mentor? If you are already in bad strats then you cannot aford to pay to be coached, right?

One of my mentors is Robert Kiyasaki I have most of his books and learn a lot from him.... That is an example of a mentor... I have many that help me mentally... Even if you have a coach there is a point you have to take some action. Get started even though it's not perfect. A mentor can be anyone... Find something you like to do and then do that thing online and find ways to monetize it. I believe that "Modeling" is way good way to coach yourself... Find out what the coach is doing and reverse engineer it. If you don't have money to do what the coach does find free ways or inexpensive ways to get it done and then invest in it slowly... Get started no excuses

If you want to make easy money, you should offer someone a service. Writing articles can be good. Do what you really can do well. But after a while, you should take some risks and start a business.

For quick cash, offering a service should work. Whether it's freelancing or simply washing someone's windows, it's a service and you will get paid for your time.

If you are desperate to make money on the spot, you can try messaging your Facebook friends and see if they are in need of a babysitter and explain why you would make a great one. While you do this, search for any clothes you no longer wear and head to a store like Plato's closet, where they will look at your clothes and often buy them (ironed clothes on hangers are more likely to be bought). Also try limiting electricity, water, food expenses etc. You can also go to craiglist and set up an ad for furniture you no longer use; usually you will get a buyer that same day to come pick it up. Head over to a pawn shop to loan an item or a car for some quick money as well. If you have some time, try to host a garage sale with many items you no longer need and could go without. While you do all this you can create a service on sites like Fiverr if you have something to offer. |

You need a method that has an easy entry point and where the rest depends on your time and your desire to succeed. Also this method needs to be unique, I'm a big believer in thinking outside the box. Find an idea (or method) like that and the rest will be history, you will never look back. |

Offering services on fiverr, elance etc is definitely a good way to get going, its easy to get help to set up something like that and outsource the work to get you going. Or you can try earning affiliate commissions by making recommendations on a forum, groups, facebook etc. The outsourcing can even be done in partnership with a local person that you already know etc....None of this costs an cent and you can get some capital to start with other methods, niche sites, CPA etc.

Well haven't checked in in a long time, been overseas. Here are some more ideas, 2¢ each. They are mostly Real Life, because online $ doesn't always happen fast.... Dead busted and need to feel like a productive human again? Go on a can collection run, recycle 1,000 aluminum cans >> cash in, go to big box store, buy: Pay-As-You-Go Smart Phone and minutes Now you're a civilized human being again.... time to go to work! >> Tee Shirt Sales No no no, stay away from Print on Demand for now. Many online riches are late bloomers if they bloom at all. But: with your handy new smart phone, call local T shirt printer and get rates. Then call local organizations (your smart phone yellow pages can help)! See if they need or want T shirts for their upcoming event. Call printer again, place order. Customer pays you, you pay print shop. Now you're not a zero, you're a hero! Paper Recyc Visit local businesses and ask if they have paper they would like recycled. Pick it up, arrange weekly pickup, amass paper empire. Buy shredder, expand into secure shredding services Become ecological planet saving hero Metal Detector Go on a can collection run, recycle 1,000-2000 aluminum cans >> cash in, go to Wal Mart, buy: Metal detector $50-100 Shovel $6 Sun Hat $8-$15 Water Bottle $5 >> With your nifty new Metal Detector, comb parks, beaches, sports fields, campgrounds, beaches, and basically any tourist spots - but not private land without permission. >> Take your buried treasure to a Pawn shops, Antique shops or collectors >> Cash in Hand! For gold you need a more sensitive detector, but that means more beer tabs, too. Flyer Distribution Call Print Shops and ask if they have any customer flyers they need distributed to neighborhoods. Things like pizza coupons and door hangers. Don't touch mailboxes. Later, set your own rates and get your own customers, pack multiple flyers into a single plastic hanger and off you go. Temporary Tattoos Buy sponges and face paint and stencils, offer temporary tattoos at tourist spots, flea markets and birthday parties. Uber If you have a 4 door car under 10 years old be an Uber driver. Enterpriser Assistant Here's another real world method: think about what you can do and like to do. Maybe it's train animals or detail cars, hang wallpaper or paint. Maybe you like to landscape or hang holiday lighting, or fix old people's computers. Call up established professionals who do that service, and ask them if they need any assistance, or know anyone who needs any assistance. They might just toss you their extra work or make you an assistant. Marketing Consultant Alternatively, bill yourself as a Marketing Consultant and ask Enterprisers if they would be interested in giving you 10% of the profit for any customers you could send them. Then hit the bricks. For added accountability, offer coupons or discount vouchers. It might just be easier to look at Craigslist jobs for account managers /sales people. Plenty of established businesses out there looking for reps on commission. Unless you prefer to make sandwiches...? White Label If you want to do it online, there are white label web services like designers and marketers who will do all the fulfillment for any customers you handle. You just have to dress ok and start introducing yourself to target prospects. Temp Agencies Go to work tomorrow. Ok, here's one that's easier said than done:
And finally, here's the best one I know: In Home Care for Special Needs People Be a true hero. Somebody needs you. |

Well if i were in that situation, this what i would 1) try to calm down and think of all my alternatives. 2) try to find a job that can put some money in hands( like a restaurant job...even if it's working overtime for awhile) while i search for better things. 3) sell some of the things i dont use frequently to put instant money in my hand and probably invest some of that into Internet marketing(although you should know that trying to create an income from IM will take some time just like any other business out there) and if you are not into IM or Network marketing try and find something productive to do with the money that will benefit you in the long run. 4) I would also try to put my services out there for people to see like a freelance site or put my services here on warrior forum and it has to be for a cheaper price since am just starting out and no one knows how good my work is yet. and lastly 5) Read motivational books and exercise regularly. |

I like actually what Matt is saying in post #1079. Since, the money has to be made desperately. You should get entry by offering something free at the same time providing valuable. But the key here is to execute it fast, like a day or two. Once the client is impressed, you can upsell him by offering paid services. This approach will work well in off-line marketing. |

Here's what I would do... I would pray Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." I would personalize that prayer, put it into first person... And keep praying, until the anxiety and "desperate feeling" leaves... and God's peace comes. cheers Peter |

1. Find a way to earn the $20 or give up things you may be wasting money on such as cigs, soft drinks, movies, etc. 2. Until you can earn the money to post the ad, put a link in your signature. Then when you participate in the forum people will see your sig/ad. Make sure you follow the sig rules and make sure you add to the conversation. Be helpful and you can start to be known and eventually people will click on your sig for more information which may result in sales for you. Mark

When I'm desperate, I call my girlfriend. From there, she tells me to stfu and man up. And then I'm back at it again. lol. On a serious note, I try to keep myself even keel. I know that when I'm desperate I tend to do things based on emotion and that's NEVER good. So, I take a breather and I get back to the drawing board / and I read to gain more knowledge. From there, I analyze my life / data / business model etc. etc. and see what adjusments I need to make. Mentor is a great thing when in desperation, but the key for me is to control my emotions and take one step at a time.

For quick money I think creating YouTube videos is the way to go and easy to find keywords that have low competition. Some of these videos may not stick long so volume is key. Create review type videos and link to clickbank/cpa offers. Creating a product and selling it here or on other marketplaces is a fast way to get some capital (and email list) going. After years of chasing the quick buck and shiny objects I have realized that building yourself as a brand with a proper blog, building an email list, and creating products is the true path to financial freedom and internet marketing success. So as you are making videos for quicker cash make sure and start a WordPress blog in your niche of choice, post to it regularly (including your videos if they are in the same niche), and build a relationship and audience to recommend products to and sale your own stuff. Its not a get rich quick method but a retire early marathon method. |

This is a humble thread. Ermmm, I would say "Affiliate Marketing". It's not quick but reliable. And most people can start for free. Grab affiliate link and search for free traffic methods and take it from there. That's a tough question to answer..

The most important thing when you find yourself in a bad situation is to not let it affect the way you think. Desperate people often tend to make the wrong decisions based on the fact that things need to get better "very fast."

In short, there is no short way for success. For this you need to work hard and to earn it. And 2n thing is that it is not sure that the idea which worked for a person also worked for another.
