If I had to make money very quickly I would get a part time job. If your new to making money online its gonna take you a while to get the hang of how to do it and do it properly.

You could also offer your services what are you good at? Write a few classified ads and post them on Craigslist, USfreeads, or Kijiji. Good way to get cash quick....

I've been using the PayPal debit card for 2 years now. Most of my money goes into my Paypal account and I can access the funds instantly. I don't know what I would do without it. You can use a Premier account too.

Hi Everyone.

If fast cash is needed and you have zilch funds you can do this.

Find a product that is free with PLR simple. edit the product add to it make it more valuable maybe throw in a video series or an audio ebook to go with it. edit the sales letter zip up the product. upload everything to your server if you do not have a server to upload to go to a free site that offers you file storage and sharing like 4shared.com - free file sharing and storage or Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire
Now you have a base to deliver the product

Now go to wordpress.com register a free site I know some like blogger(blogspot.com) which is owned by google but I like the wordpress platform.

set up your blog post some info on the product insert the graphic for the product go to paypal make a payment link then submit the site to digg.com(you need to register an account) if you have an email address use it if not go to gmail.com and register for a free one.

OK? Now go to digg.com again register and confirm your account .

once done post your site. this will help to get eyeballs in front of your offer right away. then promote it any way you can find rss feeds make forum posts etc.

Now you have just learned how to create a product drive traffic and earn cash fast!

Here's something a fellow online did once. He needed money so he decided to rent out his basement. He threw an ad in the classifieds and hundreds came calling. Maybe that's an idea?

You can earn money using this idea -- no matter what city you live. A good friend did excatly what I'm going to share with you and "she" pocketed $35,000 in less than 12 weeks! You can start earning money in less than 24 hours. The best part is: It cost ZERO to start.

1. Go to the popular FREE online Craigslist.org (publication)
2. Go to the category: For Sale - go to FREE (stuff)
3. People are giving away their stuff for free!
4. You simply go by and pick it up.
5. Bring it home - take pictures of it.
6. Create a classified ad in the correct category of Craigslist.org (it's free!) - and upload your pic of the item you're selling.
7. Make sure to list your phone number - so the reader can quickly call and rush by your house to purchase the item.
8. This is 1,000% profit - anyone can do it - no skills required.

Rinse and repeat.

Happy Trails!

Cut out the fast food and the at work let the "lunch crew" go without you. Take leftovers from home, or make you lunch.

Well this is also a chance somehow. Of course you cannot see any sence in it as long as you are trapped into this. But I can tell you from my personal experience , that being into such a situation, it will you teych a lot about life and what is it worth. Finally you have the chance to get new objectifs and a complet different focus on what you really need and what you should expect or not.

take care

Well I've been in this situation way too many times than I care to think of! Always pregnant and with little ones at home. Not fun. So hopefully I can share something here:

1. DEFINITELY cut expenses immediately -- get it down to the bare absolute essentials. Cell phone bill? Get a pay as you go and use your landline. Try MagicJack and slash your phone bill. Cook everything at home. Think survival. I.e. food, water, electricity.
2. Eat really healthy and take care of yourself as best you can. You can eat quite healthy with very little money -- rice, beans, bananas -- whatever produce is on sale, etc. Absolutely essential in a stressful situation. Spiritual practices very helpful too.
3. I've done many of the suggestions on this thread -- sell everything on Craig's list, take things to the pawn shop, sell your old stuff on Ebay, sell services on Craig's list, etc. Those are all great.
4. Get the immediate under control and use your distress to gradually work into a plan of long term stability -- preferably a viable business.
5. As soon as you have money coming in, try to be extremely frugal and build up a little cushion. This is really, really important. Try not to spend anything more than what you need -- even if things are seeming to go better.
6. It's so much easier to focus on a business if you're not desperate! So try to get the immediate taken care of a gradually work towards a long term solution.

If you really feel your down in out this could be the best day of your life. This could be the day it all changes for you. Your back is up against the wall and the last thing you want to do is hire a new boss and trade your valuable time for a few bucks.

So, here is what I suggest!
Find a mentor right away. Someone who is leader in this industry Mine is Jay Kubassek of {Carbon Copy Pro.}

Take massive action and start making choices that are going to propel you to success. Learn and do lean and do learn and do. You can literally change you situation in a few days if you take MASSIVE ACTION RIGHT NOW>

This is what I did in 2007 when I had lost my job and was facing bankruptcy and had less than a few hundred dollars in my pocket.

Well, I hope this helps!

  1. Sign up to the Warrior Forum. You should have already done that by now...
  2. Get a PayPal account and make sure you have at least $30 in it.
  3. Go the Warrior Special Offer section and find a writer that’s offering their writing service for articles at $5 per article or less. Have this writer write 5 articles on any health and beauty related topic like weight loss, diabetes, skin care, acne, body building, etc. making sure they are all on the same topic that you decide upon.
  4. Sign up for an AssociatedContent.com account while you’re waiting for your articles to be written. When your articles are ready you will be sure to pick the non-exclusive article submission.
  5. Sign up for an EzineArticles.com account while you’re waiting for your articles to be written using the same exact name used at Associate Content.
  6. Find a residual affiliate service at LifeTimeCommissions.com that relates to any one of the topics you decide upon for the 5 articles you ordered from the Warrior Special Offer section and sign up for free.
  7. Sign up for a free Squidoo account. You will set it up with the content from the 5 articles you’re going to receive and you will include links to the residual affiliate program you decided upon. This will be your landing page within your article bio at EzineArticles.com
  8. As soon as you receive your 5 articles submit them to AssociatedContent.com
  9. Then you submit the 5 articles to EzineArticles.com making sure to use the same name you used to sign up with Associated Content to comply with both services rules.
  10. Rinse and repeat while moving into the idea of creating ones own products and services.
Being new to the Internet you could quickly fill your PayPal account with nice little $5, $6 and $7 cash payments and at the same time make some residual cash from residual affiliate services once your articles are live at EzineArticles and Squidoo. Of course I’d go into a little more detail in regards to using ‘long tail keywords’ for the article topics, creating the proper article bio, re-writing the article content for their Squidoo lens and how to quickly find the right keywords using free tools. But the basic idea is to simply show a new person that you can make money online because most people just need to see a single payment to see that they can make money online to be inspired.

This process could take up to 15 days because articles generally take about 48 to 72 hours to have written (24 hours from my writer) and Associated Content takes about 7 to 10 days to make PayPal payments. Also, EzineArticles usually takes about 10 days for the first article to get approved when one first signs up for an account.

I know it’s not the absolute “shortest time possible to make money online” but my idea would be to expose this person to the Warrior Forum, Article Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and EzineArticles.com as soon as possible for long term profits.

It only takes about 5 minutes to add an article to Associated Content once your account is set up and this gives a return on investment for the 5 articles purchased on the Warrior Forum while educating this new marketer with the process and resources that can be expounded upon very quickly.

There are some rules with Associated Content that one should be aware of listed on their site to receive payment. Primarily you have to be a legal resident of the United States and must be 18 years old to get your PayPal payments. And there are rules at the Warrior Forum Squidoo and EzineArticles that I’d point out as well so no time is wasted because of getting ones account shut down.

Another method I’d mention if someone does not want to have articles written for them would be to speak them.
Get a microphone and a copy of Audacity for free and away you go. These days technology allows you to do just about anything you want. So if you are not very good at writing and or don’t want to have articles written for you, then record your articles and have an automatic translator type it into a document for you. Then, you just have to edit it.

To YOUR Success,

Dean Shainin

Here's three somewhat offbeat ideas...

Bulletin Board Affiliate

You've seen those bulletin boards in the entrance to supermarkets and other community bulletin boards like that - ever thought of using them to promote affiliate products?

1) Find a good paying affiliate program for a popular topic like weight loss. Create a simple flyer to post on the bulletin board. People aren't going to read a long missive in a store entryway, so you have to get their attention fast (big, bold headline) and add just enough sales copy to get them to tear off a web address from the bottom of the flyer.

2) Create a pre-sales article and to send people to your site where they can click on your affiliate link. OR, simply create a redirect page on your site that sends people straight to the vendor. OR, offer a FREE REPORT someone can download that has your affiliate link in it. Using a squeeze page is optional, but if you are desperate, you probably want to eliminate as many steps as possible to reduce the click away rate.

3) Print your web address for your pre-sales page or redirect page vertically on the bottom of the bulletin board flyer, then cut between them so it's easy to tear off the web address.

You could do this for several different niches: weight loss, dog training, acne, dating, etc. Post your flyer on as many bulletin boards as you can find. If you choose 5 niches and post flyers on 10 bulletin boards you've created 50 entry points for someone to grab your tear off and go to the website.

All that can be done for free if you have a printer and a way to get to the bulletin boards. Of course, you can also feature your own products this way. The product needs to be something in high demand so it appeals to a lot of people to make much money, but hey, the entry fee is extremely low, what have you got to lose?

Desperate Enough to Offer this Service?

Winter is ending. Underneath that snow is a lot of dog poop. A lot of people would rather pay you to clean up the dog poop in their yard than to do it themselves. Some people have even turned this service into weekly service so it's recurring income.

You can advertise the service on bulletin boards for free as mentioned in the previous money making method. You can run a small classified ad, print out flyers to hand out or hang from doorknobs (don't put it in people's mailboxes, that's illegal).

Not the most glamorous job in the world, but hey, sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures. It beats going hungry or missing a payment.

Peephole Installation

If you have a drill you can offer a peephole installation service. A peephole costs about $2.00. You can install one in 10 minutes or less and charge $20.00 or $25.00.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

I've had to use the following strategy recently. It's general but it's worked fantastically well. You're in a jam: problems, problems, etc. Pick ONE action you're going to do and do not leave off until you get a result on that one. Repeat, just do one thing...

Paul if you shoot me a PM with your email I got a guide I wrote a year ago I can give you. Its mostly a collection of what I, some college students, and a woman in a crunch did to raise funds. Some methods are quick, some take time, but anyhow, I'm willing to share if you want it...heck and if you like it, maybe we can work out something that would get you cash from promoting it...God knows I'm not. I wrote it and haven't done a thing with it!

"5. Trust me when I say this. If you're going to do this you MUST be 100% honest, ethical, punctual, always keep the client in the loop, offer samples of your work, and don't sell yourself short. Know when to give discounts and know when to stay your ground. Good competent writers are hard to find. I should know, I've gone through about 40 of them just this year alone! When I find a good one I want to keep them busy!"

I like this.... it reflects a very good point that no one article is truly unique unless it was written with 'heart'.

Thats the core of every articles writer and who knows better about your own niche content and knowledge sharing than your own !

Shabit, nice of you to make that offer, but the idea behind starting this thread was for folks to collectively chip in ideas so people in financial trouble could maybe find a way to earn some quick cash and stave off potential disaster. I'm sure others would be interested in any ideas you care to share, but it's not really following the spirit of the thread to selectively offer them. Besides, if you're referring to Paul Myers, I seriously doubt if he wants or needs the information for himself, he's one of the smartest marketers around. Couldn't you pick one of two of the methods you used and post them for all?

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

What to do? What to do?

IF you have health, that is, can do physical labor. Start there. Windows need to be washed, driveway's shoveled, gardens weeded, homes cleaned, parking lots (small) cleaned.

Try DAY labor, like ManPower or other day temp jobs which pay at the end of day. The problem is, if you continue to do these things, you'll become more and more desperate. OR, maybe you'll discover a business opportunity.

I'd bet 80% of all office cleaning SERVICES could be challenged by an ambitious person. Their problem is, IF they grow fast enough, their labor pool shrinks...and their service suffers.

So, can you WASH WINDOWS?

Again, the problem with finding solutions for day desperation (I call it)...is you have to repeat the day, over and over and over again. So, you need an ESCAPE plan from the day to day desperation. And some of you have posted some amazing plans here.

IF you can't do physical labor, that is, if you can't WASH WINDOWS (and by the way, I've never found a city in America where you can't find some dirt windows)...

Then you have to get creative. Let me share some REAL LIFE examples, although, I wasn't desperate at the time...get to those later.

$1,000.00 DAY CASH. From selling giant chocolate chip cookies at a large Flea Market. Borrowed the money and "pizza oven" to bake the cookies. How did I sell em?

I painted an old refridge box bright RED, and offered myself as a HUMAN JUKEBOX. For a penny, a person could get me to play a really awful song OFF KEY with my slide whistle and kazoo. Created quite a stir. My wife sold the cookies. AND we got a ton of business for our OFF KEY SINGING TELEGRAM BUSINESS, which I started for 50 cents and within 90 days was making over a $1,000.00 a day without ever spending a dime on advertising.

Any SPECIALIZED messenger service, singing telegrams, balloons, wacky stuff could be a SERVICE you could start for nothing advertising on local Craigslist.

IF you have a TV or other "stuff". SELL IT. NOW. TODAY!!!

Sell your TV on craigslist today. Try to get 100 bux for it. THEN, you will turn that 100 bux over and over by BUYING AND SELLING "stuff" on craigslist. If you buy for 100 dollars and sell for 110, is that a good deal? Maybe. Depends on gas and travel.

But it is quite easy to get to 500.00 in a week, and from then on, you should be able to produce 200.00 a week in PROFITs. It takes time and effort, but, as someone pointed out, it ain't rocket science.

What do you buy and sell? AHH. You buy what other people want, and then you sell it to them.

LABOR (washing windows, etc.) is your day job.
OR buying and selling, is your "day job"...

Then you spend 4 hours in the evening getting your IM 'stuff' together. The first week I was on the WWW (circa 95?) I made a thousand bux, using a FREE web site (still use it to this day) and sold SOMEONE else's product. It may have been one of the very first AFFILIATE deals.

I didn't take any money, wasn't involved in the actual transaction, all I did was create a SALES page for this product and got a commission for the sale. It was pretty easy then...and today, you have more FREE tools to use and more WANTED products than you have time in the day to market.

Do something physical, if you can...like wash windows, wax cars, clean offices, weed gardens...to get some "food money". Work for a day temp agency (not everything is physical, they often need bookkeepers too)...and formulate a PLAN.

OFFER a service, as has been suggested. To whom? Again, if you can read this, you have craigslist, right? Start there.

Become an AFFILIATE and offer someone else's product? HOW? There are still plenty of FREE web sites, free blogs, free social media.

USE your spare time, or after the "day job" time to do your Internet Marketing.

Then, ask yourself WHY you are desperate? What actions brought you to this point? What will do differently? What is your PLAN of escaping your current situation, and by the way, buying a lottery ticket is NOT a very good plan.

When I was desperate, my mother kicked my azz and said, "Son, DO SOMETHING."

And by following her advice, and it is my opinion, that if you DO SOMETHING, anything, then you will get off the desperate path much faster, because, once you are doing SOMETHING, you can make adjustments in what you are DOING that will produce better results.

So, take Momma's advice. DO SOMETHING.

And good luck.

gjabiz gjabiz@yahoo.com

PS. For over two decades, buying and selling "chattel" (personal and/or corporate property)...has withstood the test of time as being one of the best and fastest ways for producing a CASH flow that the average person can use to get out of desperate situations.

Cool thread OP, by far the easiest method is:

1) Sell all of the stuff laying around your house, you will need a bit of cash for this method to work (not that much)

2) Reduce all your expenses as much as you can

3) Now, take out a classified ad in a local newspaper and make the headline - 10 FREE websites for the lucky readers of ____ (the local newspapers name) and give a brief reason why doing this. Only ask for hosting and the domain name costs in the ad

4) Reduce your ad cost by taking out standby advertising (Google remnant advertising Gary Halbert) and see how you can reduce your ad cost by as much as 90%

5) Review your ad copy here at the forum, make sure its killer. There are some really great copywriters lurking here or just pm me if you need help with the copy

6) Run your ad

7) Make 10 easy websites with wordpress and fantastico (its like installing a program and clicking next, next, finish = its dead simple)

8) Call each one of your customers and upsell them, offer them an autoresponder service, extra domain names etc

9) You can also be an affiliate for the hosting and autoresponder companies your using for some extra dough

10) Ask for referrals

11) Rinse and repeat

Now was that easy or what? Go get em!!

Buy Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" audio recording CD and play it every time you get into your car and dump it to your iPod and listen to it even more every time you go for a walk or ride a bike or whatever. Even if you read the book 10 years ago, listen to the audio religiously...until you "get it." And, you will "get it," don't worry. "It" will come to you. Then send me a nice Christmas card thanking me for suggesting something so obvious and yet so away from your main thoughts. That's exactly how it all happened for me. So, I'm just passing on the favor.

Paul,

My recommendation for a fast response with minimum skill necessary would be to do a free classified ads campaign. Just blasting classifieds out to as many places as possible and then, when the leads come in, contact them directly and close them down.

My favourite free classified site is backpage.com. It doesn't get as much traffic as somewhere like craigslist, but I have received many great leads for only 30 mins work posting an ad to many cities.
I hope this helps anyone who needs it.

This is an amazing thread .. For some of us might seem like just another thread, but to others in need this means A LOT. Great stuff guys this thread should NEVER die.

Back on topic, I would suggest checking out craigslist for gigs and small jobs.
Most of them will pay you cash, and if not you could sometimes negotiate.

Four ways:

1]Digital Marketplaces (This is great for instant cash AND long term residuals)

2] Services.

3] Direct Selling of a VALUABLE high-priced product.

4] GET A JOB, ANY JOB. (Then use leftover cash for outsourcing).

First, #1]

If you're desperate, you typically you won't have time to set up business infrastructure (website, domain, etc.) unless you're fast or just build a SMALL, short sales page (that doesn't suck).

But anyways, don't get hung up on that until you're out of the woods.

Instead look at digital marketplaces that are busy and active.

Kindle Marketplace (this is more long term BUT you can write ebooks that can be sold on kindle AND ANYWHERE ELSE since YOU own it. Good practice too!)
Envato Marketplaces:
themeforest.com (make and sell wordpress themes. anywhere from thousands to MILLIONS are made here within a month. Amazing).
graphicriver.com
codecanyon.com

(if you have graphics or programming skills you can sell your work IMMEDIATELY and see sales within the month)

Youtube.
Become an affiliate of a hot product and offer one informative, narrated power-point slideshow video that's about 5 minutes long.
Link to your affiliate offer, and make sure there is something FREE upfront.

Don't spend more than 20 minutes on this. It CAN work but it varies on the offer and quality of your video. Mind your keywords.

Youtube traffic is nearly instant which Is why i'm recommending this here.
The WSO forum
Digital Point Forum.
(P.S. Don't roll your eyes when I mention the word "forum".
These are active eyeballs and wallets. Cater to them.)

Write tutorials for tutorial9.net and tutsplus.com

A lot of digital marketplaces and other related sites offer high pay for tutorials - paid to paypal. As in, $150 for a 5 page tutorial on any subject.
If you're *REALLY* skilled this can replace your job.

#2]Offer your services ONLINE.
Anything that you can do can be done at a fair price.
Find someone who needs help and make an offer.

Just pony up and ask. Do a "Call to Arms" and contact anyone who may need your help and help them for a fair price.

Accept paypal or cash.

Offer your services OFFLINE:
Even if you have no earthly idea what you're doing, you can offer to do some sort of service for local business owners.

"Offline" income is not difficult. Even HIGH SCHOOL students offer to build web pages for people.

Just DO NOT OVERCHARGE. Be generous and charge a fair price. $300-$500 bucks for a decent website with a mailing list is fair.

If you're nice, the people you offer to will be nice back, even if they say "no thanks". Find someone else.

JUST ASK.

Hop on Craigslist and offer computer repair, website building, sign waiving, whatever you can, in your local area.

If you don't have a skill - LEARN.

Youtube exists for reasons other than stupid cat videos...

#3] Direct selling.

This is easier than it sounds, and I know because I've done it.

Find a high-priced affiliate product that you can research (and be PASSIONATE about), then look for people on forums related to that niche and offer free advice to people who need serious help.

Talk to them for however long it takes for them to get comfortable (be patient, don't be pushy, and be HELPFUL) then link them to the product.

You're being a trusted friend/advisor with a recommendation.

It can work. $500 can be pulled out of nothing with this one. Treat it well.

#4] Get a job.

This may suck, but don't complain about "the economy".

SOMEONE... SOMEONE will hire you. Even if it's restaurant work (which pays DAILY).

Drop your dignity and be humble for a moment. Work.

Pay your bills and take whatever money you have left over to outsource the things that generate long term profit for you.

Get a series of informative youtube videos created surrounding a hot product. Get websites created. Hire salespeople.

Get a small army of people to help you with your particular PROVEN strategy, such as services.

Then go for it.

Either way, IF YOU ARE DESPERATE YOU MUST NEVER LOSE FOCUS.

The temptation is to jump around to see what sticks.

Don't do that. Pick something from this list that resonates with you that you KNOW you can do with ABSOLUTE CLARITY.

Then do it and stick to it.

Right. Go.

ALSO, BOOK RECOMMENDATION, So that you stop getting into desperate situations to begin with:

"Overcoming Underearning" By Barbara Stanny

Many books focus on wealth building or getting rich. This one focuses on why you're having a hard time coming anywhere close to that.

Hint: Its easier than you might think, you just need the right "switch"

(Author. Artist. Social Media Maven. Life Coach.)
{Free Yourself.}

Fastest way to make money is through services. That is active income which you can use if you are desperate. I would do that when I run out of money. It is quick upfront money. But then again, there are some people that get way more from helping offline businesses.

A good idea might be to offer tutoring services to
people OFFLINE. Using skills and knowledge that you
ALREADY have, you can teach people:
• How to use the internet
• How to use their PC
• How to use a Macintosh (Apple
Computer)
• How to build a website
• How to write articles
• How to make money online (BIG niche!)
Or anything that people are interested in
learning (and paying for) that you are
knowledgeable about.
You can advertise (for FREE) on Craigslist.org under
the "lessons/tutoring" category and achieve fantastic
results. You can charge
anywhere from $25-$50 per hour session with the
average being $40/hour and $20/half hour.
When you post an ad on Craigslist it goes live in 15
minutes or less and you can start having calls the
same hour that you post your ad! These calls (or
emails) can turn into paying customers/students that
are ready to start this week!
What can you teach people how to do to make fast
cash?

First-stop buying products that sell hope to the hopeless.

1. By Xsitepro

2. Create websites 'on spec' for local businesses

3. As you are starting off charge $1,250 per site

4. Charge $37 a month for hosting

5. Repeat the above.

NOTE: This is 100% Zero Theory - it is what I do in my real life (But I charge more for the sites)

I could show a drovers dog how to make $1,000 a week doing this.

This product was offered as a WSO a few weeks back. It is excellent. I noticed that the product is no longer offered and wondered why. It is a definite blueprint for earning money over time.

However, one of the first things desperate buyers is get a Paypal debit card so you have instant money available. Great suggestion by a fellow warrior.

If you can perform any of the submitting activities described by the SENUKE, or EVO programs for less money, you could make some quick cash from the Warriors.

Hi all if you are determined to do it via IM then affilliate marketing is a good way, however it can take forever to get paid.RAP bank offers a possible solution, instant payout and you get to build your list at the same time. Read the free 96 page "MONEY NOW" report and checkout the possibilities.

Re: What to do if you're desperate

As long as this thread has resurfaced again, I'll just add that those who suggest a service (including a post of mine in this thread I barely remembered...) are correct that it can be a fast way to earn money online. Granted, some offline methods may be quicker, but if we want to speak strictly to online methods, offering a service is one of the better ways.

As it happens, this past weekend I conducted an experiment of my own. Spending $0, I was able to earn $100 direct to my PayPal account within 31 hours of posting an offer.

I did have two assets to my advantage: a Twitter account and a blog. I put up my offer on my blog on Saturday evening, tweeted about it, and within hours I had a client. Yesterday, I did the work and was paid.

So, it's definitely doable. The difficult part for most people is that they may not have a blog or a Twitter account with a large following. But, really, it's quality that matters more; so it's a matter of having a follower that needs what you're offering, and you can do that with ten followers or ten thousand.

On top of that, this was a holiday weekend in the U.S., so many people may not even be online as much as usual. I'm thinking about trying this again on another non-holiday weekend to see if the results are the same, better or worse.

The bottom line is that it can be done.

Of course, if your needs are $1,000 or $10,000, your mileage may vary.

My two cents worth on what to do if you are desperate.. Re-read every single post in this thread. Full of great sound advice.

I will add from a writing perspective though, and no I have no affiliate links. But start applying at content mill sites to make an immediate income while building your IM business.

Demand Studios - Pays twice weekly. Without fail. Yea it can be frustrating and it is structured, but it is money every single week working from home.

Bright Hubs - I haven't written there in some time but they pay $10 up-front last time I wrote there plus revenue share on Adsense advertising.

There are others, but these are the two highest paying content mill sites that you can get on board with pretty quickly. I know it works because quite frankly I was desperate in July 2009.

With that said though, continue building on a business plan and your IM business everyday while writing articles at the above sites, among others.

Do not ever give up! Just know that you are going to have to work your butt off but the rewards long term are very much worth the effort. Stop looking at the situation as desperation. View it for what it is...this is your moment of declaring your Independence. Do what needs to be done and keep moving one foot in front of the other.

Tried and true method to make money from home. Click here for the method that continually brings me $100s daily. (Excellent for Beginners)

I personally think that trying to learn about and implement a new business when you are not sure where your next meal is coming from is extremely tough.

I would recommend to do something that is already at or below your current skill level.

Man you just kicked me right in the experience

Even a month ago I was desparate enough to work as a meal ticket supervisor at a school and then for a coffee company as their computer guy part time for minimum wage. As soon as I left there and had time to promote off and online I began making I knew I could making for starters. More is to come believe me. Even offering services cheap is better than working for someone else

Working cheap you built your clientele to a large enough point to where you can raise your prices to full price

Kinda surprised no one has mentioned network marketing here. I mean, it's not my main squeeze, but I dabble. It is "a way" that people can make decent money quickly by spending very little to get started and should at least be included in the discussion.

Most of us are affiliate marketers so it shouldn't be thought of as so out of line to suggest it. I'm not going to make any specific network marketing talk here publicly because I'm sure the gates of hell would open up and I'd be tarred for life by the mention. But, I'm certainly willing to pm with some ideas for the curious.

Re: What to do if you're desperate
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Alot of great comments here. I've been in this situation before and this is what I did:

1. Probably most important for me was to stay positive. Its really easy to get into the "I'm a victim" mind set. Stay positive and don't say "I can't" but rather say "what do I need to do".

2. Assess your current debt. As one poster mentioned, make a budget and detail every monthly cost you have. You might be surprised at how much you spend on things you don't really need (I know I was). Chop ALL debts you don't need and then for the essential bills, figure out how you can reduce them. Have a lareg car payment or mortgage payment? Pick up the phone and call the financer, explain your situation - you might be surprised to find that they will be very accommodating by giving you temporary credit relief. Call up the phone company and chops your phone service down to the bare bones. Do this out of box thinking with all your essential bills.

3. Utilities & Groceries - I put this in a separate category as they are typically (outside of mortgage) the highest bills most families have. For utilities, look at unplugging appliances at night such as computers, televisions, microwaves, etc which always suck energy. Doing this alone will chop your electricity cost by 10% or so monthly. Look at cheap ways to winterized your home such as plastic over the windows and closing off unused rooms. This can save a lot in winter heating. For groceries, inspect your past bills and cut out any non-essential foods. Do you have spare land? Plant a garden and grow your own vegetables - save big bucks by doing that. Dig a root cellar and put excess vegetables there so u have fresh veggies to carry u right into winter.

Ok, so now you have your bills under control and you have a budget in hand. Next you should:

1. Assess your skills. Are you good at writing, math, physically active, have hobbies / interests, good programmer, good at graphic design, an artist, can build stuff with your hands, etc, etc. Mark down every skill you have on a piece of paper and think of what you can do to turn those skills into quick cash. Maybe you could offer writing services, tudor services, design services, etc, etc.

NOTE: Now is NOT the time to try to find some solution for your money troubles that is unfamiliar to you. You need money fast so stick with ideas that you know you have the ability to monetize quickly.

2. Formulate a plan and take action. Now that you have identified your skills and brain stormed ways that you can monetize those skills then lay-out a game plan. In other words, make a step by step plan of what you need to do to turn your ideas into cash. Does it involve cold calling? Make a script and get on the phone. Does it involve visiting businesses? Get yourself cleaned up and looking good, get your best clothes on and hit the streets!

3. Don't get discouraged. Finding work is a job in itself. Don't assume it will be easy but rather - assume it will be tough going - that way you won't be surprised or discouraged if you get a no, or lots of nos. Learn from each experience (positive or negative) and keep slogging and by process of development of your sales technique and simple laws of statistics, you will get a YES! Build on that success and keep forging ahead.

4. And when you are back on track - take pride in your accomplishment and be sure to thank those who gave a helping hand.....

True, as a general rule, that's true. One really has to be introduced to a program that is right for the individual. Once the person is matched up with the right program, it's a viable option. But, you're right, it usually doesn't work like that. And, it's even harder to go out proactively as a person and say, "Guess I'll go find a really great network marketing system to buy into today." And, that discover process is a lot like buying lotto tickets too. But, it does happen for the fortunate few. That should be agreed upon too.

Not a specific recipe, but in general, find out what you are good at. What can you do that adds excellent value? Find out who needs it and what people are paying for that service. Offer to do it for 50% of what other people are charging. Do an excellent job. Get paid. Get great testimonials, ask for referrals. You will not make as much as you would under normal circumstances, but you will build momentum, create new relationships and get new business.

Now you have a handful of testimonials, a track record and some contacts in the marketplace. Rinse and repeat with new customers, but raise your prices or add on back end services where you can increase your profit.

Sometimes that's all you need to help get through a rough patch and help turn the tide.

If you can afford to, even offer to give a sample for free in exchange for referrals and testimonials. Lots of the biggest names in marketing recommend building their lists, etc by giving away something excellent as a way to establish a relationship and start buzz in the market. Reciprocity works with anything as simple as mowing lawns all the way up to a big product launch. Give something away, you will get something back.

Momentum is everything. Just getting started with actually doing something will propel you forward to the next step.

Re: What to do if you're desperate

I know someone who routinely scours sites like freecylce and craigslist (under the for sale category, there is a listing called "free") to find free stuff. She picks it up and resells it for a profit. You'd be surprised at what people give away.

I know of a group of kids that made $700+ that way by picking up good free stuff during the week, then holding a garage sale on the weekend.

One of my best friends used to have a store full of antiques etc that he sold. He never paid for any of his inventory. He happened to have a moving company. Everything in his store had been left behind by people who didn't have room for it where they were going and didn't want to be bothered with selling it or finding someone to give it to.

Not the most efficient thing to do, for sure, but just illustrates the point that people give away things of value all the time that can be resold either at a garage sale/flea market if you're in an active town or online marketplaces like craigslist.

This +++++++1.

Alot of these other methods will work but if you are desperate and need money and don't have a dime to spare then go to those two websites and start from there.

You can work on some of these other methods when you get out of desperation mode.

There are a lot of great suggestions here. I appreciate everyone being so detailed. Sometimes it's a little overwhelming to begin, but this kind of helps the situation. I'm just starting to dabble.

I would say the quickest thing to do is gather up all the things in your house that you no longer want and go to a site like sell.com and sell it.

Paul
At first I thought you were the same Paul Meyers that is with the PartnerwithPaul.com program which is nothing but a hidden advertisement for Herbalife .I was starting to get angry and was about to call you a big fat hypocrite until I found this on affiliatescams.wurdmess.com :"Paul’s full name on the web site is Paul Myers. The first and most important factor that needs to be addressed here is that this is not the same Paul Myers from the Warrior Forum." Thank God I did the diligence to investigate, for you appear to be highly respected on this forum, and you also seem to have the power to strike me dead with a ban hammer if you so choose It must suck to have the same name.If you haven't yet, you might want to read the comment by Malcolm59 and a couple of others for your name on IM report card. They're confusing you for him and lowering you're rating and reputation.I'm sure a little damage control on you're part might change that

Anyways, what motivated me to reply in the first place, was your comment about Mlm being a business model that most people can't do well at.I agree with you. Most people can't seem to do well at marketing in general. Its ironic, however, that Mlm almost always gets a worse rap than internet marketing ,but the failure rate for both is between 95-97%.Its unlikely that authors Jack Canfield and Dr. John Gray would throw their reputation down the tubes by investing in and endorsing an Mlm to their readers like they did if it had a bad business model. I personally believe that if you find a good product ,know how to market it correctly, take action, and persevere you can do great at both.I'm sure you realize that many if not most people quit too early and label something as unachievable or a scam because they don't realize that initial failures and rejections are part of the learning process.

To get the record straight I am not promoting either an Mlm or affiliate marketing product or company yet.I've simply met highly successful people from both ventures who saw a great opportunity, and took the appropriate actions to achieve their success.I definitely agree about the point being made about desperation if you're selling something.Definitely a no no

Yeah, both affiliate marketing and network marketing have had such a bad rap.

I mean, I belong to a health club. And, the sales dude told me on day 1 that I could have a free membership by just referring one person a month to the club. Like it or not, that is me getting paid for recommending something to others. It's affiliate marketing at its best. And, no one seems to thing that's a crime.

It's also network marketing in a sense because the guy I bring in can do the same thing and get commission on the sale in the form of a discount on the month.

If people can ever get past the idea that network marketing and the nastiest of words...MLM....woooo! is ONLY about selling overpriced soap and vitamin drinks to family members, a whole new world would open up to the desperate or otherwise.
