KDP Self publishing with a publishing name ?

I am going to self-publish a book through KDP and would like to have it published under a "publishing company".

Have I understood correctly that if I buy a ISBN through Bowker.com with my existing company, I can choose a publishing name/company for my ISBN and that this is the name that will be listed for the book?

Is there anything I have missed or that I should be aware of? All tips are appreciated...

    pen names are common - 'publishing name' would be a pen name?


    This is a question to ask Amazon or the place where are dealing with the ISBN...to be certain you have the correct answer.

    Yes. The default publishing name is KDP (I think), but you can choose to be your own publisher, and Amazon just prints and downloads the books.

    You don't need an ISBN unless you are going to publish a print book. If it just an e-book you are publishing, during the process when you upload your book and cover file, there is a box you fill out with the name of the publishing company you desire.
