Does anyone have any experience marketing health coaching?

Hi there,

I'm in the mental health niche with a really engaged Instagram audience of people asking for help so I know it's a viable pain point in a relatively blue water area but I'm struggling to convert many into sales.

Does anyone have any experience with this. I have a decent budget so can invest in the right advice.

I do not have experience in your area.

    But I do know this:
    1. you need to find a group of people that are hungry for what you're selling (which you've done) and willing and able to pay your prices (which you have not found).

    2. You need to talk to them in their language. (That means you narrow down your focus on a particular type of person each time you communicate. (You can target several types, but each type needs to be addressed the way they understand... that means words and media...

    3. You need to make them offers they cannot refuse. (Part of that can be finding their pain point, agitate them over it, offer your solution ... and the solution must be perceived as more valuable than the price you put on it. At the same time, the price you put on it should be more than the value of the solution and your delivery of it is to you.)

Examples where I use I but mean anyone.

I hear my right knee popping as I go up stairs, I go to google and search. WebMd tells me not to worry (unless there are other things going on).

I'm good. I am not buying anything. I am not searching further.

Unless I see an ad that says something along the lines of:
knee-popping with no other symptoms is a sign of complete and total annihilation of your sorry ass.

Then, depending on how much credibility that message-emitter has, I investigate more or not.

You do not want to catch me in the first stage or the 'investigate more' stage.

You want to catch me at the next stage: I investigated more and now I'm concerned-concerned. Now I'm thinking of buying me a solution to save my sorry ass.

If you come across my field of vision and talk to me the right way, I'll listen. If you seem credible (got good reviews, etc.) I consider buying from you.

If you want $5000 to tell me to lose weight and strengthen my front thigh muscles, I scoff at you and go find me another solution.

If you want $5000 and give me x sessions where I learn about the whole connection between my popping knee and the total annihilation of my sorry ass and a list of exercises to improve my odds, I do the same.

If you want $500 and give me x sessions where I learn about the whole connection between my popping knee and the total annihilation of my sorry ass and a list of exercises to improve my odds, I buy the sessions.

If you want $5000 and give me x sessions where you remove the connection between my popping knee and my short-life span horizon, I give you $5000.

Setup a shopping cart that lists
blocks of time for however much
you want to charge for that.

    Schedule your phone call, text,
    zoom or whatever and deliver
    your service.

When people ask you for help
direct them to your sales page.

People will pay, you just have to
provide a system for them to do
    so.

If you build it, they will come, huh?

Many have gone broke following this idea.

        My reply was not about

BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME

The OP stated that he already has
a following on Instagram and that
people were asking him for help.
        So it's already been built.

I suggested an actual doable method
for him to provide those people a way
to purchase and pay for his health
        coaching. That is all.

I have a friend that's in the coaching
industry who uses this very simple
shopping cart method and it seems
to be working just fine for them.
        Selling their services through
        blocks of their time.

If I were in the coaching business,
that is the way I would set things
        up.

If you are interested in seeing that
        shopping cart in action, message
me and I might respond. I would
have posted it here but I don't
want to incur any infractions for
posting sales pages. I also don't
        want disinterested lookie-loos
        clicking on my friend's site.

The OP or you can take my advice
or leave it just like everybody else.
It makes me no difference either
        way.

            Exactly.

Because it's difficult to make sales
with no sales page and no way to
            collect payments.

It is even harder if they do not go to your sales page.

Plus, in your first post, you talked about a shopping card, not a sales page.

I try to keep my replies short and to
the point, this way my suggestions
are more likely to actually be read.
I'm not trying to provide people with
                step-by-step tutorials here. If they
want a dissertation they can read a
                book.

                Moving on.

    Hi Jimmy

What is your offer? You say that your engaged audience is asking for help, does your offer match their pain point.

Do you have social proof/testimonials? This goes a long way to improve conversion.

Freebies don't work unless it's some
sort of a giveaway about your topic
that should be given in exchange for
their email address that you are
        adding to your autoresponder list.
        Otherwise you just seem desperate
        and that doesn't sell.

The giveaway could be about healthy
        recipes, aromatherapy, meditation
        instructions or other information you
have to share. Whatever it is should
        have a perceived value.

I definitely would not offer any free
        consultations, maybe an additional
free one after they have purchased
two or three sessions first, like buy
two hours get an additional half
hour bonus, for example. Or sign
up for a month of sessions and
        get a free week.

        No samples of your consultations.

If you do not put a value on your time,
        your knowledge and your services,
        neither will your potential clients.

I recommend that you look at what
your competition is doing and also
read an ebook about the coaching
industry, I feel that you could make
        your coaching practice work.

        Seems two options are possible:
        1. you're attracting people who need help but cannot pay (will not pay).

        2. you're attracting people who need help, can and are willing to pay but you lose them once they get to where your offers are.

The second means there's a disconnect between where you find them (instagram) and where you sell them.

Look for savidged4 and Jason Kanigan's posts on this forum addressing conversions and sale process.

        Hi Jimmy

I agree with the points Monetize and DABK make. You need to some how pre-qualify your leads, giving away 15 min of your time does the following:

        1. Conveys to your audience that your time isn't valuable (if they were able to get 15 min it is unlikely they will be willing to pay for something they just got for free). You need to convey that your time and the service you provide is one of a kind and scarce.
        2. Because it was free they don't make the most of the time spent with you (are they actually engaged?)
        3. Attracts people who are unwilling to pay for a service.

As Monetize you could give away an eBook or brochure or the free audio to simply to collect email addresses.

Make your base offer a 30 minute paid consult, and you could go as far as adding pre-qualifying questions to the booking system. You do need to have social proof to make your service attractive (i.e. testimonials of people saying that your service has changed their lives for the better).
