Ezine Articles - Sorry we do not allow the promotion of your company...

Hey guys. I am sure most of you have seen the problem message sent out by ezine articles;

"sorry we do not allow the promotion of your company or product in the artice body"

However what are the "exact" guidelines behind this, because I have several articles which I am trying to get accepted and at first they mentioned certain product names so I edited them and ripped out any mention of product names or companies so they now just speak generally about the market however they still will NOT be accepted, any ideas?

Thanks

Few months back I submited an article regarding PC Satellite TV which is a Clickbank product and at the article body I included Directtv which is satellite tv service provider in US. They rejected my article for including that name. I am not sure what product you are promoting or included in your article body. But I am sure there are some products name that are not allowed to be in our article body.

Perhaps promote the product in your sig file instead? Not as effective I know, but if they are getting this strict it may be the only option.

I just got an article rejected for not being informative enough.
I kept checking, it went from 'in final review' back to 'initial review' at least four times!
It is very good content but speaks about the psychology of the problem. I can't help that ezine doesn't understand psychology!

I don' think there's anything we can do!

Basically EZA and many other article directories do not want advertising anywhere but the author bio and that's nothing new.

Article directories are not just there to get backlinks, they also offer content for publishers. I use articles from directories on some of my sites and would not use any that promoted a company or product within the article body unless it was a genuine review - would you? Readers might think your information isn't very credible when they realise before they get to your signature that you are trying to sell them something!

Recently I had an article rejected because I was promoting a type of business, I didn't even mention the business name anywhere in the article. It was rejected for being overly promotional. So I used that article for a different purpose and just moved on to the next one.

I think sometimes you just get a picky editor, or one who is having a bad day.

Yeah I think your right Valorie as I have not used the name or mention of a company within the article body at all.

I think it got harder to get your articles accepted recently. I used to write in 'my english' with 2 promotional links in sig, and the acceptance ration was pretty much high - approx 70%. Nowdays, I am paying english native writer, and yet my articles are being constantly rejected as if they contain grammatical and structural issues. I also try to use only 1 promotional link in sig but that is also a problem now. I think I will give up ezine. What do they expect? To write quality articles for free for them?

I've never had a problem with an article that I've published in EZA, and that's because I write articles that are informative (none of my articles are 'review-style' articles). My aim with every article is to leave the reader with either a better understanding for the subject at hand, or actionable information that they can use to fix an immediate problem. I want them craving more information from me, and they can get that information through my bio box (although only when those articles are in front of my targeted audience, in the way of targeted websites and newsletters).

I want to be thought of as an expert in my field, someone that my audience will immediately think of when they want to find out more information on a topic. Ideally, I want to be the person that is trusted by my audience. Trust = sales. One way I accomplish that is by providing value through articles.

You publish articles in EZA because you want ezine authors to pick up and use those articles on their own websites - and they won't use articles that contain links within the article body. This is what the bio box was intended for (and even then you shouldn't be sounding promotional or 'salesy').

Yeah they got their butt kicked, lost traffic, lost revenue. They had to be more stringent in their acceptance policy and who could blame them - they are running a business.

Some are really good but a lot of 'English native writers' are not that good and their work needs grammatical errors editing out, but they don't charge much so what do you expect. You can use 2 links in articles there but if they have a problem linking to your site that's a different issue.

Yes they do expect quality articles to be submitted to them. It's their site and they have a right to refuse anything that they choose. What you get in return for your quality articles is a chance for them to be syndicated to authority sites which will help your business, so it's fair that they get something in return.

You lose more than them if you give up on them. They gain back time spent checking articles that do not comply with their TOS. Best thing you could do is what they ask.

I have written numerous articles for ezine articles, and never been rejected.

As long as you write an informative article and educate their/your viewers, you should have no issues. I don't put any links in the body, except for the author bio. You will have to read the rules, I think they only allow 2 links in the bio. I believe it can not be any affiliate links or a redirects. Ezine articles is strict about it's links policy.

If they suspect a business is using shady practices, they might reject it too. I never heard of them doing that, but it's possible.

I have never had an issue and I have written atleast 25+ articles for them.

Is your article commercial at all? Even if there are no mentions of your company, a commercial sounding article will likely get turned down.

And there is nothing wrong with that. Google spoke up with the Panda update about how they didn't like cheap purely commercial content, and EzineArticles is trying to respond to that by making their articles higher quality and less commercial (and more helpful).

There are certain products and businesses which ezine doesn't allow talking about. such as pharmaceutical products, youtube conversion software and stuff like hacking tools. When they say does not provide enough information it means that a lot of stuff is already published there and your article has nothing new in it. They have become a bit finickey after they got busted by Google last year for running 6 back to back competition called hundred articles hundred days in which a over a million new articles were added in 6 months. their Adsense bill sky rocketed and Google had to come up with Panda. Now if you have noticed you hardly find ezine links on page 1 of Google.

Seriously? Panda was the response to EZA running a promotion to add content to their site? Talk about hunting hummingbirds with a cannon!

If EZA was the sole problem, all Google had to do was push two buttons somewhere deep in the Googleplex.

Button one - EZA 'presents a risk to advertisers, Adsense account suspended permanently'.

Button two - Eza delisted, no longer found in Google index.

The whole series of Panda updates was a response to a much wider plague than one overzealous website, even if it was a large one.

[On a side note, anyone else remember when a 'google' was just an insanely large number?]
