Subscribers who subscribed for freebies, how targeted they are?

Well .. I always ask this question to myself. If we offer something free and people subscribe using free email accounts ... how targeted that list would be?

How will you use this list?

Couple of ways I can think of are:

* Send affiliate links that are related to the freebie they have signed up. (Instead of general product promotions)
* Giveaway basic product free while signing up and offer upgraded version for a fee.

Any other comments or ideas?

Many people will tell you to ignore all freebie seekers. It will depend on your niche. If you ignore all freebie seekers, you could be passing up a chance of someone who will buy later. Especially with this economy, they may not have the money now, but will buy later. They could also refer their friends to you who are buyers.

Free promotions can help, but you may wind up witha list of non buyers. This is the trouble with free giveaways.
Still, I recommend just providing a valuable list and promote products occasionally but not every time. If they recieve value from your emails, they are more likely to buy when they can, and refer you to others even if they never buy.

You can certainly convert freebie seekers into customers if the offer is right. One thing very useful about offering something for free is that you can advertise that thing for free, which tends to attract a high click-through rate - very useful with Google AdWords.

It tends to work well to provide the prospect with an immediate one-time or limited-time offer after they have signed up for the freebie.
