Getting customer feedback

Hi all,
I'm working on an app to improve getting customer feedback and insights. If you run an e-commerce store or a website where users are important, how have you tried to get feedback? How happy were you with the results?

    Have you tried running a survey? Usually you just create a survey on, say, Google Forms, then put that link on your app.

    Try doing customer feedback surveys or email them after a week when they purchased the product.

    Thanks all for the replies. I done follow up emails and surveys. What I'm trying to determine if other website owners have and do they feel the response justified the effort they put into creating the survey. Does that make sense?
