How to restart and old YT channel

I just found out that I have an "active" YT channel, with almost 1,000 followers.
Not only that, one video has gone viral (Again) and just hit 1,000,000 views.

So the most logical thing would be to start monetizing the channel.

There is just one thing, my last post was from 5 years and I'm not really into that subject anymore.

Any ideas, what to do with it?

You need to continue this channel with new videos.

I'm not into that subject anymore like I stated before.
if I would be, that would have been the first thing I would have done.

So basically what you are asking is how can you with doing as little as possible if close to nothing "monetize" or take advantage of the content that already exists?

        Read that again...

"Im not into that subject anymore" is kinda the answer.. you have moved on. you can do 1 of 2 things.. you can all of the sudden become re-interested in the subject, or 2 you can relish in the idea that you have a video with 1,000,000 views ( congratulations BTW ) and chalk it up as an life experience. There simply is no middle ground here... its one or the other.

If you are not into that subject anymore try a subject that you like that is similar and see how it resonates or if not test out a completely different topic you like .

What media outlets do you usually use to share your you tube channel updates in the past

You've already got a YouTube channel with some followers & videos. It's awesome! If you want to monetize it, you should keep on creating new content & regularly publishing it. Choose the most convenient pace for yourself. It could be one time per month, but EVERY month. In the YouTube algorithm, regularity matters a lot. If you have no time for the channel, you could hire an administrator to help you with it. Such programs as TubeBuddy & vidIQ are of great help. Good luck!!!

You could always pay someone else to create content for you for this channel.

Also, you could sell it if you're not up to maintaining the channel anymore. But letting something like this die with what you've accomplished already... personally I wouldn't do that but it is your channel.

Either way, I wish you all the best.

Lol! These were the exact 2 options that first came to me when I read this post. You said it well, so I'll leave it at that.

I always get a laugh when I read posts like yours.

You have a few basic options:

You can leave it alone, forget about it and do nothing.
You can keep on thinking and worrying about it.
You can keep asking everybody else what they would do about it.
    You can create related content.
    You can create unrelated content.
You can get others to create related/unrelated content.
You can sell the whole darn thing.
    You can give it away.
    And you can delete it.

The best advice and multi-options you should considered from Monetize...
      Don't waste your time....
I'd make it 2 options only: sell it or delete it - and then move on...
      Good luck!

  • No benefits to start an old YouTube channel. It wastes time. Open New Channel and grow your channel visibility and subscriber.

Why do you have that thought?

This channel has now 1100+ followers and gaining 30+ followers a day, without any work. also, it has around 30k views a day. this all on a channel that had zero activity since 2015

So why stop and start over again?

Try to find a sub-category at least maybe you will like the subject
If not, try to find something related to that category or audience who is watching

I think switching to a completely different niche will ruin subscriber count

What content is on it? Would suggest finding something you're passionate about, and creating videos for a niche people are looking for answers on. There's many ways to earn money from YouTube, limiting yourself to monetizing from ads is just one of them.

      Car tuning.

In the last week, I gained 250.000 more views and 250 more followers, all with very old content.

Why are you switching niches. Just create another one with the niche you have in mind and still stick to this one's niche. You can grow two accounts at the same time

    Hi

Great that you have so many subscribers and so on. Just be active and uploading new videos, Maybe you could do new and better versions of videos that you already have many views on? I am not saying your videos are bad, just my advice how to keep up the amount of views.

    Cheers, Tommy Olsson

I gave it a good thought, and decided and made 2 new videos to see how the followers react to it, and it was positive.

Also, I ordered new videos to see how they would work out.

Finally, I will restructure the videos and give them better thumbnails so the channel will look more attractive to keep gaining followers.

As I see it now, it is almost free money, so let's invest a little to see if I can double it and make it a third income.

I am on You Tube every day. The best thing I have learned in regards to marketing is consistency. Keep making videos on 1 niche daily. Yes improved thumbnails will help. But more importantly...keep creating content. The more content you create, the better your channel will do.

If your old channel is in good standing, you could look to reboot it, bring in new viewers, and get things off the ground once more. You can start creating on topics you are passionate about and create videos for issues people are finding answers for.

If you are not into that subject anymore, move on.

I wouldn't even bother with it.

If you were still passionate about that subject, your subscriber base would grow and you can earn money from their ads platform (People advertising on your videos)

I think you should continue the channel but post about what you love because if you don't, then you're going to feel unsatisfied/unhappy and most likely won't have the desire to continue posting.
