Duplicate Content

Here's my concern. I had my website and blog separate where I posted a lot of the same info with some little tweaks like titles and keywords.

Now I've moved my blog over to my website to increase content but I'm a little concerned that I might get flagged by google for duplicate content.

Do I have reason to be concerned even if I did tweak things?

Is there a way/resource I can use to tell me if I have any problems?

    It is likely your site will be "noted" as having duplicate content, but there is nothing to be concerned about. You will not be penalized. Your pages with the duplicate content will simply not be indexed. If they both have the same topic matter one of them will appear in the SERPS.

    Well, if your site and blog are in the same domain then Google will filter the results. They are not going to de-index your site but they only will list the most relevant.

    There is nothing to worry about and yes I know this for a fact as I use a 2ndary blog on my some of my sites. What you want to do with the blog post is post partial (the article summary) of the article and then link to your main site with the full article.

    Both can be listed as mine are, they get indexed by google with no problems at all and yes they will even show up in the same search results taking over several positions. As stated above your results will NOT be filtered. I have tested this for over 8 months now and not once has my content been filtered.

    Really the only thing you have to worry about is which page Google decides to show to the people who are searching their index. If you want a specific page to be displayed in the rankings over another duplicate page, use the canonical header tag. Do a Google search for more info on the tag. It's very simple to set up.

    Yup...

    As Allen says above, you've really nothing to worry about, except for showing Google which page you want to appear in the index for those keywords...

    Even this isn't a major worry, because Google has a decent handle on choosing the best one, in my experience. So, if both pages are well structured and good working order, it's not a problem
