Finding products to promote

I'm still new to internet (affiliate) marketing. I've tried to use Commission Junction (CJ) and ClickBank, but I find it difficult to get real in-depth information about specific products. I have to search both sources to find products a-like something I want to promote and then I'd have to find enough information on that product. I've gotten advice before to search YouTube for videos, but that is more general information. Are there any good tips or best practices for getting in-depth information on specific products? Or should I be putting up pages that teach general product information and just include specific information to sell the specific product?

What kind of products are you promoting that you can't even find information about them?

You don't need to research a product to
death in order to promote it. If you are
    promoting moonrocks, for example,
setup a content or comparison site all
    about moonrocks and include some
links for your visitors to buy those.

If you are promoting a digital product
you can try contacting the publisher
    for a complimentary review copy.

Try to find a product you really like yourself. Buy it. Use it.

    Happy with it?

Great, then it's time to promote it and share this blessing with others who need it

    Hey,

before choosing the product, you must decide the niche or sub-niche in which you are passionate. Popular niches are health & fitness, dating & relationship, make money online, and spirituality & manifestation.

Thereafter, filter the product in a particular niche by gravity (if you are using ClickBank) and look for at least 125-150 gravity (recommended as you are a newbie).

Then select the product that has recurring bills and you earn a recurring commission. Plus check their affiliate section what resources they are providing. Further, check their sales page and try to select the offers which have pretty detailed text sales pitches including video.

hope this would solve your problem

If I try to use ClickBank for products, there is usually little information on the websites provided by the merchants. Otherwise, It seems nearly impossible to find affiliate links (from CJ or ClickBank) for products I specifically want to promote. I have to try to search the databases for products to promote, always something I've never heard of.

My niche is actually anything involving technology. Software, mobile apps, "vape" device. I'm also trying to work with links to promote shared web hosting and virtual private servers.

I have considered trying to contact developers of products I'm interested in promoting and asking them to use CJ or ClickBank, but that's probably a dumb idea.

Also, what is a Warrior Forum product? Warrior Forum sells products as an organization?

Don't get hung up on lack of information and
        work with what is available.

Try to find an evergreen niche that is not so
        heavily saturated.

        Developers don't cater to newbies.

For vape products check Amazon affiliate. For web hosting, just type 'web hosting affiliate program' into Google.

      • @skegeek,

From how I understand the stuff I quoted from you below -- It seems you're looking for specific tech products in CJ and ClickBank, even if the developers of those products don't use any of those affiliate management platforms ...

Any product developer, more so in the tech areas you mentioned, can have their own affiliate program.
And they can use either another affiliate management platform like Amazon Affiliates, or their own (sometimes through payment processors like PayPal, which can be used to split buyer payments between them and their affiliates through PayPal chain payments) ...

So no, it's not a bad idea to contact the sales and dev teams of the tech products you're interested in, just to ask if they have an affiliate program.
Many if not most businesses are likely to welcome your inquiries with open arms -- Remember, you want to promote their products and just want to be paid commissions for each sale for your time, energy and resources.
Now unless you're doing something illegal, I think a significant number of legit businesses would likely be interested in that proposition.
And some that don't currently have an affiliate program might even decide to develop one because of your inquiry, especially if you approach them with info that they can verify, such as your social media subscriber base ...

        I hope this helps.
        Best of luck!

As far as I'm aware, at Clickbank, the link to the Affiliate Resources Page is always provided for each product. Whatever information you see on that page is all you need to promote the product, after purchasing and using it yourself, if that's possible.

Whichever network you choose to promote for, be sure to choose products that come with upsells so you can earn commissions on additional products customers purchase.
Also, E-business/E-marketing are among the best types of products to choose from. Two reasons why this is so being:

Because online business and internet marketing is an evergreen topic, you won't ever have trouble finding unique and fresh products to promote.

Also, because among internet marketers, the e-marketing kind of products are highly competitive and convert well.

Buy the product, use it, feel it, and then review it from a real buyer point of view.

This is the way to go.

    • For newbies/experienced marketers, there is an educational platform called "Marketers Workshop" that houses in-depth teaching material on every topic needed for an Internet Marketer to succeed - Affiliate Marketing being one of them.

They also have a high commission affiliate and reseller program that you can take advantage of while/after learning.

When I was a newbie affiliate marketer, I chose a niche that was quite heavily saturated (not tech) - and I came to terms with it quickly and made sure I researched enough after that.

Tech in general is highly saturated. I would do more due diligence to find high ticket products, then buy/borrow/use them myself to review.

Pro tip: People like genuine/honest reviews that don't involve using "techie words" just to sound smart.

Do not overthink this. Simply promote something that you know (a) is something folks tend to buy - that is, invest money into, (b) you know enough about it already or can read and pick up enough and (c) pays you sufficiently high commissions that you are in good profits. Take these criteria and promote a product from anywhere that you wish to.

Choose products that you yourself have best knowledge about. For instance, I have used most beauty products personally and a little bit of googling helps me to get in depth information quickly.
Don't try to put pages with general information. People love to to read about personal experiences or something that addresses their issues.
A general information always goes unnoticed.

    Best Luck!

You need to use a tool. Try to search for a keyword that is mostly search by the people nowadays by the people. So you have an idea what's the best business to invest for today.

I think I agree with agmcall. In order for you to have an in-depth information or experience about the product, you have to atleast buy the product. Now if it is too costly, I understand you hesitated to buy one. But if you tried everything just to have and in-depth information about the product, then there's nothing you can do but to buy one.

Pretty simple, one of the best ways to know up/down about one product is " Buy it".

Otherwise you can contact the seller and see if he offers a demo or a review-version of his product.

Usually sellers are happy to get super-affiliates for their offers....

Try affiliate system in Amazon. They offered great incentive and equally to both parties.

The best way to get in depth info on a product is to buy it. This way you know exactly what you're promoting and you can feel strong and confident about the success of it as you promote it - because you know its a great product.

Good tips. If you have no interest in the niche it is very difficult to produce interesting content for promotion. After a while you will get tired and burn out. Choose something you like and it will seem less of a job and more of a hobby.

You should promote expensive, high-quality products. Many people want to start making money online so that's a great niche. They need to be high-quality with social proof because that's highly important; the more social proof the better. Most people won't buy a product without evidence that it works. Also, it should be fairly expensive so that you can actually make money. Keep in mind that if people think it's really going to help them, they'll definitely be willing to pay for it the majority of the time.
