Hi,

Hope someone can give me a bit of advice, please? First, let me explain, I am 79 years of age and am self-taught regarding my computer and the Internet. When I took my degrees, the Internet was just a pipe dream.

So, what is my problem? Currently, I create a newsletter for the members of an Association of Counsellors, trying to spice up the newsletter I wanted to create a flip-page copy, no problem, I have been able to do that. To introduce the newsletter, I created a video this is where I have a problem.

I have set a hyperlink to open the video on the first page, which leads me to my question. I would like at the end of the video, which is only about one minute long, for the viewer to be taken back to the first page in the newsletter they used to access the link for the video so they could go on and read the rest of the newsletter. Does anyone know how I can do this, please?

The video can be the Camtasia creation or the YouTube version.

I would really appreciate any help given.
kind regards
David

Congratulations on being 79! I turned sixty a few months
ago and have been feeling sort of old, so you made my day.
I don't think you can program the video to return to the web
page automatically, but I could be wrong. You can place a
link on the video that would do this, the viewer would need
to click it. This video explains how to do it.

Seems like the best solution would be to simply embed the video into the newsletter page. For those who want to watch it, they can just play the video. For those who don't (or after they do watch it), they can keep scrolling down to read the rest of the newsletter.

Other than that, you could have the video link open in a separate window or tab. Then, when they close the video's window/tab, the newsletter is waiting for them where they left off in the original window/tab.

another option might be to have the video open in a new page. That way when the reader is done with the video and closes the screen the newsletter is still open, Which, if the newsletter is a .pdf should happen anyway
