Video Advertising: Why Now Is the Time to Give It a Try

According to Search Engine Journal, video advertising isn't as expensive -- or scary -- as you may think. If you haven't given it a try yet, now's the time, and here's why.

Many advertisers continue to resist the idea of advertising with video. That's despite 50.9% of B2B decision-makers use YouTube to research future purchases. And 70% of viewers bought from a brand after seeing it on YouTube. Need more reasons to jump in? Check these out!
  • Video Advertising is Great for Brand Awareness: Video ads aren't the hassle you might think (more on this in a minute). You don't know what you don't know. Maybe video ads would outperform your already well-performing text or Display ads. You won't know unless you test. As a general principle, it's better to have a mix of ad formats and strategies as a hedge against performance changes.
  • Video Ads Can Do Things Other Ad Formats Can't: For example, explainer videos are perfect for serving up in response to search queries that relate to your product, such as "What is protein powder good for" or "How to get fit at 40."
  • Video Advertising Doesn't Have to Be Expensive: If you can hire a team to produce and shoot your video on location, then that's great. (And there's nothing wrong with that approach if it's within your budget!) But you don't have to go that route. Tools such as YouTube's video builder make it super easy to create short videos you can use in your advertising.
  • Advertising with Video Can Give You a Competitive Edge: Advertising by video may give you a competitive advantage. If your competitors aren't in this space yet, you have a wide-open playing field.

Agreed. People are more interested in absorbing the information by seeing rather than reading. I think Video Ads is the future and we all should hop on it before its too late.

That's right! Video is not expensive actually. But it's not so easy either for people who never done it before. Just need to find the right provider! So then you'll get high quality video at the most affordable cost. Good luck!

So true, I believe in the future of video ads. It will be a great option for promotion of all the products and services and I think people are more willing to watch a video than read something

Very true. Visually displayed ads appeal to multiple senses and increase product sales by almost twice the number.

I create content on YouTube daily. It converts well but make no mistake, it still takes a lot of time, consistency and money (if your running paid ads).

I don't think video will replace written content.

Some people still prefer to read while others prefer watching videos.

  • True! People are impatient nowadays. Only a handful is okay with written ads, and only unless there's a cute photo that goes along with it.

Written ads are still great! I think it should not go away. But right now, it's video's time.
