How to build a lot of mini sites for different micro niches without spending a fortune on hosting?

Well lets say I want to TEST a niche before I consider buying a domain name and hosting...

what's the easiest way?

I'm thinking of free hosting just to test a market and see if the product converts but now I'm kind of stuck and don't know which one to use...

EDIT I know that buying a hosting looks professional but I want to get so many websites out there for different niches
I have too many free time on my hands and want to test them like crazy for several weeks and find the golden nugget

so what's a great free hosting? I have no clue

You could try a generic domain name (www-generic-domain-name-here-com) and either put the landing pages on sub-domains or in sub-directories, I suppose.

This way you could, at least, test whether people will whip out their wallet. They're unlikely to care too much what the URL is; Does it solve their problem?

For every one that looks promising based on conversions, you could just put in a redirect index-page at a later date to a keyword-rich domain.

One possible drawback here could be that some of the early test article marketing efforts might somewhat go to waste because some of the article directories might not allow this kind of redirect (i.e. subdomain or subdirectory).

If that's too big an obstacle, just leave the page there and write an even more killer pre-sell on that page and then send them to the offer more directly than on the new keyword-rich domain.

    Hope that helps.

Personally id consider buying hosting and 1 generic domain for example learn-here.info or something of that nature...

With hosting like Hostgator's baby package you can have as many sub domains as you want. You even get unlimited databases so you could have several Wordpress/Joomla/Drupal sites on these sub domains...

No free host is going to give you that.

    For example:

    http://golfswing.learn-here.info
    http://makemoney.learn-here.info
    http://chessguide.learn-here.info

    etc etc.

This would be the best route.

Alternatively if you still want to go down the free hosting route, i used Awardspace.com about 8 years ago and it was good then. It's still around now so maybe worth trying. Of course you're going to be limited to just html sites on free hosting packages though.

I would suggest running a Squidoo, HubPage and Blog (Blogger) then driving traffic through articles to them. You would be able to measure approximately the demand for the information you're testing.

I would suggest even more so, if possible, to get yourself a cheap hosting account so that you can track data properly with analytics to get a deeper understanding of how people are using the site (and content).

try either WordPress.com » Get a Free Blog Here or BlinkWeb - Free Internet Marketing Website or Blog! (This include very good website creation tool and template as well)

ANyway, I highly recommend once you have tested the niche, CHANGE TO HOSTING INSTEAD. You own the website and you have total control on it.

No worries waking up one day and found out that your very profitable website is banned/shut off without warning. (you should find lots of example like squidoo, wordpress, hubpage deleting account because they feel that it's spam)

    Hope this helps

If you can afford it hosting and subdomains is the way to go, hostgator starts at $4.95 per month and I'm fairly sure you can cancel it anytime - it's worth just for the Awstats you access thru the cpanel alone. Hostgator has a coupon code for 20% off as well - 'autumn' it's on their homepage.

If your test go well and you want to use lots of different domains you can upgrade to a reseller account.

You can get a reseller package from hostgator.com. This allows you to setup multiple domains off of the account, each with its own hosting account.

This is mainly for people who want to start their own website design and hosting type business but works great for people with multiple sites as well. I have active over 23 websites and host through my hostgator reseller account for only 24 bucks a month.

Yes that's the problem with wordpress.com
Use BlinkWeb - Free Internet Marketing Website or Blog! instead, they offer free hosting and it's created for the internet marketer as well (unlike wordpress.com which is use for blogging....)

        Hope this helps.

With HostGator, you will be able to host unlimited domains for just a couple of bucks per month.

Also, as someone suggested, just buy a generic domain name and put everything on there.

    Kyla,

The best advice I can give you is to enter one market that you know there are successful businesses built in.... and is something that you're really passionate about.

That's the best bet.... Intensity always beats extensity.

I'd say do not focus on ten different niches.... Just go for one niche that people are already successful in, create your own brand and focus all your energy on putting out the best quality content out there.

Just a note: Go for the micro niche instead!
Do not follow people targeting the generate niche (example: weight loss). Go for something more specific instead!

Else you will be wasting your time and effort trying to compete with old marketer.
