How to exchange illustrations for high-quality backlinks

Hey Warriors,

Firstly, I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong forum. I'm not sure which would be best for my query.

So as a person offering cartooning-related illustration services, I often find it incredibly difficult to get relevant backlinks to my website from high ranking sites.

I've thought about offering an illustration (or two) in exchange for a link in a writers blog post for example. Or something along those lines.

Is there a service/ platform that exists where I can offer an exchange? Or can it be done here at Warrior forum? What is the best way to approach a site? And who would I even approach? Maybe a political blog, where I could offer a political cartoon in relation to the topic perhaps?

I'm so out of the loop with what's doable that I'm kinda stuck in the mud and need some guidance.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello Jamie!

    Your cartoons are adorable.

Have you tried contacting the webmasters of
the sites you want backlinks from?

And have you thought about posting your
services on the freelance sites like Fiverr?
That might get you some backlinks.

    Hey Adebayjim ,
Exchange links from the website within a similar niche or which are relevant to your site. Send pitches to higher authority websites as a guest post contributor and use relevant natural anchor text- of a healthy mix of follow and nofollow.

write guest post cartoon -> try searching out like this it would give you plenty of options.

Check your competitor's backlinks. Check what backlinks they have made. Try to copy them or hire VA to do it for you.

One great way to get high quality back-links, that most people don't know of . . . spend a little money on a crowd-sourcing project, preferably something relevant to your site, and they give you a back-link.

A well done press release is another good way to get some high quality back-links.

And guest posting on relevant blogs is another, if you do it really well.

You can reach out to high authority sites that are relevant to your niche. Craft pitches that explain everything; make sure to keep it short and don't sound boring.

Also, analyze your competitors. See where they are getting backlinks from. This will help find numerous opportunities for backlinks.

  • Hi Jamie, Like the OP mentioned here, you should try listing your great work on Fiverr/Upwork/artstation/conceptart.
