Editing ezine articles?

I´ve asked this question before but I feel I need to ask it again.
What is your experience in resubitting an ezine article, some people have said you will loose your rankings but in my experience this is not the case.

I resubmitted an article which was approved within a day, it´s was nr 2 on google before the change and did not change positions.

The reason I ask is because I´m hating articles more and more, when I finally get an article nr1 on google, it most often turns out that my resource box is not good enough resulting in a bad click through rate.

So the question is if I dare re-submit my high viewed (but low click though) articles.

What is your experience seasoned article marketers?

Sincerely
Karl

I find that as long as I don't change the title, everything is fine. If you change the title, the url changes and then you lose your ranking. I am always going back in and changing resource boxes and the body of different articles and have yet to lose my serp position.

Keep in mind, if you change the body too much, you may affect your position for certain keywords. But a few words here and there seems to be fine.

As already mentioned, normally if you don't make any changes to the actual article title and keywords the article maintains its current ranking.

However, any time you change an article you are forced to send it back through the editorial process again and that is where you can run into problems.

Just because an article was approved the first time doesn't mean it will be approved again or that you will need to make some other changes based on new editorial rules.

In some instances Ive found it was better to just write a new article around the same keyword phrase but with a better resource box. Then I use that article to knock my first article out of the search engines.

Sounds like a painfully difficult task but its actually not that hard...especially if you make use of a pen name.

This might be a silly question, but if you aren't getting clicks that can make you money, why worry about the position?

If you had a salesperson who went out every day and talked to a bunch of people but never sold anything, would you keep them on the payroll as is? Or would you change something - either the person's approach or the actual person?
