Whether virtual or physical, we all have seen both good and bad presenters. What are some of your tips to become a better presenter?

    I am very visual.

I love guys like Gary Vaynerchuk and Alex Hormozi.

    Content is phenomenal and motivating.

But they always look scruffy, unshaven etc.

    Multi-Millionaires. What can you do.

There is a popular Finance YouTuber that always does Magic at the beginning. Have to Infotain.

Appearance does count but smartness, however, prevails if the presenter keeps to the border line. ☺️

Good presenters always know their topic cold. the best ones have a developed sense of humor. And it shows, even when they aren't trying to be funny.

    Practice makes you better.

For People starting out ― particularly as it applies to Public Speaking ― I think the most important qualities are: 1. Sincerity. And 2. Authenticity ... (Essentially being real, honest, and genuine.)

Be prepared, some need more preparation than others. Humor helps.

The best presenters not only 'know' their topic cold - they are excited about it.

AND are organized in their presentation. A presenter (on any topic) that 'ummms' and 'ahhhs' and has to 'go back and explain' or who takes the long away around to say anything of substance....loses me completely.

Here are a few more things I know help.

Be natural. Don't try to be someone else.

Use visual prompts. I use a Power Point presentation, mostly to keep me on topic, and let me know what I'm covering next.

Stories are better than just facts. tell stories that are true. Never fake a story. But keep on topic. keep it short. make the point. But stories are easier for you to remember than facts.

A good presentation addresses the concerns, wishes, hopes, dreams, problems, and fears of the audience. Make the presentation fit them as close as possible.

Stay on time. If you are allotted an hour, don't take more than an hour and ten minutes.
Never give up the microphone to an audience member. Ask them a question if you like, but don't give them the stage. it can lead to you losing your audience.

Some people shouldn't give speeches. If you talk in a monotone, you'll lose them. If you're funny, use that. If you aren't sure if you're funny (Your Mom's opinion doesn't count) don't chance it.

Engage the audience as much as possible. Ask for a show of hands, ask them to stand up if....

Don't so this. Don't tell stories you got out of a speech book. Don't use jokes.

If you can (and you can) say something self deprecating. Mention a screw up you had. But don't do this several times, or you'll sound like a screw up.

This is theater. I speak slightly faster than normal (Maybe 5% faster) and slightly louder. It simulates excitement on my part. Vary the pitch, tone, cadence of your speech to keep attention.

And for God sake, don't spend most of your time talking about your cancer, a family tragedy, or tell stories that make people feel sorry for you.

      Stick to the subject.

If you are less than charismatic, create an introduction video.

And if someone else is going to introduce you, give them a very short thing to say...in writing.

Here you have to apply to human psychology, because this thing answers all your questions. You don't need to be a good presenter, you have to do something in order to make viewers to believe that you're great presenter. Everything depends on how you tell your material, what poses do you prefer in front of the audience and how do you control your gestures and mimics. In my opinion, here you can apply to body language and of course if you're really poor in making presentations you can pass some courses in the internet, where you will be taught how to create attractive presentations.

For me, a good presenter needs to be a good storyteller who uses true stories that are relevant to captivate the attention of the audience.

It is important always to demonstrate passion, but people can be real weird if they believe you to be an imbecile or a harlot.

well... first of all, don't let me do the presentation, lol - I literally get anxiety talking to family on FaceTime... and it makes me go full - get me off this camera mode, and I really don't know why, I don't base my impression of someone on looks, I base it on their intellectual abilities, though I often hide my intelligence, unless I am writing, then it flows out like water, lol.

So I set out to conquer my camera phobia, right?

I got a phone, I got audible apps, and so I can practice dialing-in to character, and EVERYTIME - it leads to raw, unedited, unscripted, flat out R-Rated comedic insanity. - usually that is not the goal!!!

On the serious side, I have been recording myself, I guess lecturing what I researched, wrote, or creating audio files trying to tone my voice, slow down, and relax and just read or speak at what most would consider a normal pace - meanwhile, I have recorded around 250-300 hours just in my phone audio recorder.

Some of it flows and it is smooth... When it's right, I am emphasizing and hitting all the key points and basically practicing oratory and storytelling - which is absurd, considering I haven't officially published anything epic to date... that's all buried in notebooks and word docs, works-in-progress-etc.

But here is an example, Vishen Lakhani's presentation and storytelling just blew me away... I haven't finished the video yet, because he struck a few chords that have me spooked a bit, concerning developing intuitive and spiritual connections... even his mention of lucid dreaming, years ago we had a "lucid dreaming group" for a spell in the "off topic" section, and seems like any good presentation: has that magically WHOA THERE HORSEY, NOW YOU'RE FREAKING ME OUT! kind of feel to it!

Maybe not everyone's cup a tea, but this presentation, I thought was brilliantly delivered!

Intro, rapport building, qualify questions, "presentation", objections, close deal, ask for referrals.

Know what step 4 is in this sales formula and that's where you give it a strong approach.

Actually, I wasn't talking about a sales presentation.
