Help me hit 5,000 Facebook limit

by mbacak 14 replies
I'm getting excited, I logged into
my Facebook account and noticed that
I went over 4,000 with only personally
asking a handful of friends to add me.

The rest just asked me to be there friends.

I'll be very close to the 5,000 friend
limit on Facebook very soon and set a goal
to make it happen this week by emailing
my IM email list of +/- 246,000

You might not know but as of right
now Facebook has a limit on the
amount of friends you can have on
its system. The limit is 5,000.

Now, the unofficial reason is
because of scaling problems.

I figured it would be a good idea
to post this to help everyone get
more warrior friends on Facebook.

Here is how I get about 70-100 friend a day.

I call it the 'Let's Socialize strategy'.
(Notice how I do it on my sig file)

Put a 'Let's Socialize' on my blog with
a link to my Facebook profile.

Put a 'Let's Socialize' in my signature
file when I post in some of the forums
that I personally belong to.

Put a 'Let's Socialize' on video
landing pages I email out to my
email list in the IM niche.

Put a 'Let's Socialize' on audio
landing pages I email out to my
email list in the IM niche.

And I participate in any of the
forum posts that say 'Let's be friends
on Facebook' by posting my link too.

So here is the idea. Let's just all post
our links to Facebook and all become friends
and of course don't forget to add me.

Here's my facebook profile link:

Money isn't real, George. It doesn't matter. It only seems like it does.

That's true and a very good point. I hate that too.

That's why I never market to anyone via facebook. I only just send happy birthday emails to my friends on it, update my status, upload videos and pictures.

I have personally found if you use Facebook as a networking tool then it works real well. If you have someone as a friend on Facebook they are more likely to get the email. I've had long conversations with people that I would have never had a chance to get to talk to via email or even at a conference or something.

        Absolutely
Have I made money out of facebook- yes! But it is because of clever networking, and building relaitonships- not about throwing a pile of emails, notes and dodgy status updates up on it.
Be there for the long haul and you can make alot. But don't go in all flashy
        AND
If you want to me MY friend and I've never met you before or I don't already think you are pretty awesome (I have seth godin on my friends and I LOVE that!) you are going to have to sweet talk me big time
