I really have been contemplating selling some souvenir TV sets and Amplifiers that I have been collecting in the past.

I took a pose as these are like cryptocurrency, looks worthless but of great value, it's awesome and amazing to see such technology coming and disappearing into oblivion, so I decided to wait till I make serious awareness and let the price go higher than $1000.

I guess then that will be a lucrative but very limited business as I have very few pieces of that old technology.

If at all I happen to change my mind, I might as well open up a museum which I think would be better than selling out.

Yes, Antic Pieces will gain value over time. Alternately collect as many as you can and start an exhibition with some entry fee. Kids of current and future generations may be able to understand the evolution of technology over years.

    Wish You All the Best.

I sell this kind of stuff. The prices go up and down based on demand in some parts, supply in another, and the wild card variable of "Interest". If you go on eBay and see an item selling somewhat regularly... and for a decent price you really should be selling it.

The holding game in many cases works.. but there are more than a few where it doesn't, and this is especially true with aged electronics. A GREAT example of this would be the Atari 2600. there was a time this was selling for hundreds of dollars, I recall maybe close to the $1000 mark...and today? less than $100.

You really need to strike while the iron is hot, and have no regret later thinking "oh if I waited I could have made more"

The other issue at hand is the storage itself... the longer you hold it the greater the chance that something could happen to it. Between moisture, and rust, and mice, and discoloration and physical damage, you stand the chance of having something of value today, and tomorrow it could be worth nothing.

Looking at something like trading cards, its hot right now, but history suggests the price will drop over time... and drop hard.

Sell what you have, and invest in more - and repeat. over the next years time you will have bought and sold, making more, than just holding what you have.

Hope that Helps! and best of luck

I think you shouldn't give up as what you are doing is going to take some time to get monetized.
