New again to all this...

So back around 2009, using advice from various sources (including this forum), I got my tiny local computer help site in google's Top 10 results. Now I'm seriously out of touch and retired on a fixed income. Looking to monetize myself online, on a serious shoestring budget. Considering dropshipping and other avenues, and really just starting on this project. And google results on this topic are either hopelessly generic (blog, youtube, affiliate, influencer, and - Get a job? WTF?) or absolutely nuts (I made $500K in one month via _______ ). I obviously need to develop some Boolean Kung Fu as I proceed.

I'm here in hope of finding some useful sources of information. An overview about what really pays off, yes. But also what the price of entry is for various ventures. Dropshipping, affiliate marketing, blogging, etc. So at this point, what I need most is to educate myself. And to do that, I need access to quality educational materials.

I pretty much already know that spending some time on this forum reading is valuable, but suggestions on where to initially focus will help. And if you can point me to any resources - here or outside the Warrior Forum - that will help me learn actual, useful and legitimate knowledge about these subjects, please point me at them - I'll do the rest myself.

Welcome. Start with the forum rules (in the sticky threads) so you don't trip up.

All of the online business methods you mention have been discussed and/or are being discussed here.

Thanks; are their any academic or other books on this that are worth reading? There's always Library Genesis, but generally the materials there are likely to be - for this topic - badly outdated.

Not just you my friend. Millions have had to do a Pandemic Pivot.

Use it as leverage the fact that so many people are now working from home or seek to.

There are so many paths to get you to your destination you just have to pick one within your comfort zone.

If on a tight budget just do what you are doing now.

Leverage the Internet in Free ways.

For example people join a platform. They learn all they can about it. Then implement it.

Next thing you know they are selling training on how they are succeeding with it.

    A natural flow.

Thanks; I visited the Learn Forum. It does indeed have some useful information. And reminders of the basics, like empathy is a powerful - maybe the most powerful - tool in a salesman's arsenal.

Just local, on-site computer troubleshooting for home and small business users. I haven't done that since 2010, and am hopelessly out of date; offering advice now would be just wrong.

Have you thought about buying from sales and flipping on facebook market place ?
As in buying physical items and then posting them for sale on FB Marketplace? If I lived in an urban area, I'd be studying fashion (especially vintage fashion) and hitting thrift shops and tag sales and estate sales every day; one could make good money even with shipping. But I live so far in the boonies that it's over an hour drive just to find a store other than walmart. Meaning even if the customers came to me, it's going to add prohibitive gas costs for them. The few thrift shops here charge as much as buying new. Nobody here could spell estate sale, and tag sale stuff here is really not resellable.

If you mean buy new (or used) items and sell them on FB by shipping them, how do I compete after the shipping costs? Or maybe I'm completely misunderstanding you...

There are some really good tutorials - the 'follow me and see where this goes' sort of threads in the Warrior Path section.

    One of my favorites is

    https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...days-ebay.html

    another: https://www.warriorforum.com/warrior...marketing.html

They aren't selling you anything. The ebay thread is enough to create a full business on that platform if you just follow the advice of someone who has been-there/done-that.

I'd take that route rather than trying 'sell on FB'...even if it meant a one hr drive to source 'products'....or that 'path' discussion might give you some other ideas.

I checked them both out, and Wow! Yes, that kind thread is golden for learning: I just downloaded a few books on Library Genesis, and after a quick skim of one I didn't see the kind of information I'm seeking. It was mostly the same information I'd already seen doing online research, just condensed into one spot. I'll keep reading the books I got, there's still new knowledge there, the bits of gold dust add up.

But those threads, the day by day, step by step breakdowns, and the detail - I'm betting I'll never find anything like that in a textbook. The ebay one is a faster read, but I'll end up reading both thoroughly.

I just subscribed to the Warrior Path forum. But to find it, I did a general search on "warrior path" in the site search, and many of the results were not in the Warrior Path forum. And I got curious; what are all these threads where the Warrior Path was mentioned? And some of them look like promising reading too.

So thank you very much for these leads. This is the kind of learning that I've been looking for. I keep this up, I'll end up knowing where I want to go with all this.

If you click 'forums' in the black toolbar at the top of the page - you'll see the options and the 'warrior path' section is one listed.

Take a few minutes and explore - the 'User CP' and the options there - the various forum sections, etc.

Just for giggles, hold your cursor over your NAME in the same black toolbar - in the dropdown options that appear you will see a 'gold box' that says either "View Modern" or "View Classic".

If it says 'View Classic' - click on it and change to the classic view if you are not using it already - will make it easier to find 'stuff' here and to participate in discussions (If it says 'view modern' - you are already in the classic view)...

I'm not that rusty; I switched within a few minutes of making my new account here. The classic is clearly better. Or as Walter White says, "Do you really want to live in a world without Coca-Cola?"

And the answers are 'yes, it is' and 'no, I don't'....
