Is a marketing funnel better than a website

Building a website can be such a hassle as compared to a funnel. I have come across some articles and videos that are advocating for funnels, to the effect that why build a website when you can just build a funnel. Is it possible to just have a funnel for your business without a website?

Many people pushing that thought are also pushing a funnel system like ClickFunnels. Also, most people who say that have a website. They may send certain traffic only to a funnel but there is still a website with a blog, newsletter archives, whatever.

Can it be done? Yes. Depending on the traffic, your reputation/credibility, your offer, etc.
    My two cents.

How are you going to build a funnel without a website?

I am very quick to send people to auction sites to browse the "Just Sold" listings and see websites that have no traffic and no revenue, just recently registered, and still sell for hundreds of dollars.

So with that in mind I would always choose to create a real ASSET.

The more you grow it (backlinks etc) the more value it will have.

The more money you make each month..the more value it will have.

If you decide to change niches you will have something that someone else may find value in.

A Funnel is basically a linked series of web pages, with your funnel you will have a very definite objective of selling a specific item/course. A Website is also a connected series of pages but this has a more generalized objective, to present a Blog based on a subject, or a specific company, or entity.
A Funnel is simply a sales process that uses published pages to move the visitor along, in a pre-determined sequence. So the choice of format is going to be guided very much by your intentions here!
What do you want to achieve with your publishing?

Via opt-in, I can easily keep communicating with my subscribers through my funnel & email.
Not so easy to get (any) visitors back to a website or blog
      Just my 2c

Funnels are absolutely essential and while a website is a true asset having a funnel integrated on it is what makes it a real business in my opinion.

If you just created a killer blog post for example you mention it to your subscribers/email list noting the gold nuggets you shared with a link and that is one way to get them to return to your "website or blog".

When you have a website then you can do a lot of on-page activities which can drive more traffic one way or another.

    More activities = More opportunity

    So decide carefully.

But technically you need a website anyway, you need to build your landing page somewhere. cheers!

When it comes to building an ideal online business, it's not ideal to just restrict your business to building funnels alone. You primarily need a website to take your business to the next level in the online world. After you have created your website, you need a blog too as this will ensure that you can earn four times traffic more than those without a blog. Now, with your funnels, you can convert potential visitors into customers and build more trust and credibility for your business.

I think building a funnel is more important than building a website. funnel is a strategic way actually. And businesses always grow based on a strategy.

Depends what kind of traffic you have (if you have any) and what kind of products (price point, yours or affiliate for someone, etc) you are selling

yes, it is possible to just have a funnel for your business without a website because you can get the leads and justify your marketing funnel by relying on other 3rd party platforms like Social media channels Amazon, e-commerce business, etc.
But if you want to grow your business with more personalized and trusted customers or visitors then it is important to have your own website. That will not only help you to gain traffic but you can earn more credibility & sales for your business.
