WSO validity update

The WSO Marketplace Rules state that:

WSOs are valid for only 12 months, after which they cannot be bumped and will be closed. Any threads which are more than 12 months and have been bumped will not be issued a refund, and members will have to create a new WSO.
Yet, we have seen a lot of members insist on reopening their WSOs which are way more than 1 year old.

So moving forward we have decided that all old WSOs (including all threads from the other marketplace sections) will be closed, giving path for members to include their best reviews/testimonials. Members can then use these best reviews and include them as part of their sales copy, or as a second post in the ad thread.

01/06 update: All threads that have been moved to the Legacy WSO section will be open for a month.

03/10 update: Refund requests for bump will not be honoured. We have posted this last January, so it is expected that active sellers should've read this.

    Suggest making this a sticky in the WSO section as well just to cover the bases.

    Yeah that's a little bit painful once you are building all the reviews during all the year and then you should re-create the post if you are still providing same special deal.

    It would be good to have an option to keep all existing comments from the older thread.

      I think the point is that if an offer lasts over a year, it can't still be defined as "special".

      Create a new or updated offer - you can quote any previous reviews to help with credibility.

    No, that's not a good option - it doesn't update anything. With a little effort you can include good previous reviews and testimonials in the new ad thread.


    "All existing comments" - In many marketplace threads, a majority of the comments are by the seller - repeating the sales copy, responding to simple questions, adding new 'deals'.....etc.

    There's a reason why it's called a "Warrior Special Offer".

    Big brands don't sell "special offers" for 10 years. At most, they only make them available for a very short time. 1 year is more than enough. If that WSO has been selling well, feel free to include the best testimonials and reviews.

      WSOs were initially created solely for the purpose of offering a deal to WF members that wasn't publicly available to normal buyers. That's what made them "special offers" - it had nothing to do with a specific time period.

        The point is still valid - an offer can be special in more ways than one. In practice, when WSOs were instigated, hardly any remained available for more than a few months, let alone a year.

    You are right - but in truth most of those WSO's under those rules (prior owner) were closed within a month. I remember Allen critiquing a WSO that ran for 6 weeks. At that time WSO's were special and also often time limited. I ran WSOs that were closed in hours.

    It's a different Marketplace now.

    The time period in place now is to keep ads somewhat current - before implementing that limitation...we had 'special offers' running for YEARS...how special could that be?
