Email Marketing? Your Opinion Would Be Appreciated....

Google Adwords is draining my budget making me look for other options. Is anyone out there getting great conversions from email marketing. I got an email today for an email marketing service that only charges like $34.50 for life.

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

Has anyone ever tried these kind of services?
Have they converted into visitors?

I was looking at a service called blast4traffic.com:
Has anyone used them?
Is there an inexpensive service that you use and like?

I appreciate the Help!

Aweber has the highest deliverability - period.

Also - if you are using PPC to drive traffic there are 2 things you MUST do...

    1) Optimize your landing pages for the keywords

    2) Ensure that your email followup sequence has the necessary content and buildup to produce sales

Yes these budget plans or software seem like a great idea when you're setting up an autoresponder.

The problem is as soon as you have a list of any size most of the budget alternatives stop being effective (your emails get dumped by ISPs and spam filters and your delivery rate drops to an incredibly low level the larger your list gets).

Since your email list is one of the most valuable assets you'll ever have you should be willing to ensure that list stays valuable by using a premium service like Aweber.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh

I'm learning a lot about keywords lately...I didn't utilize them properly at first...I bought a book called 'Content Rich" to help me learn great copy. If you have any other suggestions for better writing, It would be helpful.

Thanks for your Help...I've seen your comments around the forum and like your advice...

I started with GetResponse and then changed to AWeber, and highly recommend AWeber. It's not any more expensive than web hosting, and you can pay a couple months at a time. This is how I started -- I was unhappy with GetResponse and they refused to refund my money when I decided to cancel my service -- so I was a bit leery of signing up with AWeber for a year. AWeber turned out to be great and when I renewed (after the first three month period) it was for a full year, but you can pay a couple months at a time indefinitely if you like.

I've just realized that it's nearly priceless to build a list and maintain it. Aweber is a must.

Every Aweber email I get is in my trash can, same with Infusionsoft. Sorry, I disagree. I get cheapo emails from no name ARs in my inbox all the time. If they work with ISPs they must have forgotten Verizon Fios!

Which service is your email account with, I've found that it usually depends on each services spam filter. Yahoo Mail seems to dump a lot of auto responder emails in spam.

GMail hardly sends any aweber email to spam in my experience.

Email marketing is definitely the way to go, and is a great way of generating traffic, some people call this "push button traffic". Once you've built up a considerable amount of leads, and built a relationship with them, you will make much more money than with PPC.

I would avoid those cheap services, like others have said the deliverability rate will be poor, with most of your emails ending up in spam. I was tempted to go with one of the cheap options, but I'm glad I was persuaded to go with Aweber now.

Also you may find it hard to transfer your list to Aweber at a later date, should you decide you don't like your current service. So you might as well just go with Aweber from the start and avoid the hassle.

Just think how you would feel if you lost all your leads, and had to start building your list all over again from scratch!

I hope that helps you to come to a decision?

      Paul.

    Hi Kirstin!
The problem with adwords is that the minute you stop paying, your traffic stops as well.If I had to start all over again, I would start a blog in a niche I know something about. This way I have always something to write about and don´t get tired of it because it is a long term project.

With your blog, you need an email list.Building this list can be done almost automatically once people visit your blog and sign up for your list (you need to have a tempting freebie).Go with a well-known autoresponder company like Aweber, it´s only $19 per month.

I have an autoreponder(I didn't realize my question was ambiguous, sorry), I just don't have the big list yet. I guess this email stream was one with a built in list they send to. the recipients have agreed to receive their emails, and I can advertise through them...That is what I thought anyhow. I hoped I could get some list building through their list...I'm going to go back and make sure I'm not confused about the service.

I'll have to look at aweber v. who I use now for my responder....maybe a switch is necessary.

My blogs are relatively new, I've got an autoresponder for my website and just realized I can use the code on a few different sites so I have 2 blogs and 1 website so far w/autoresponder. I have been giving each venue a uniform feel so you can tell it's me writing, not ghost writers, but each has a little different vibe as far as ads, promos, content, and structure.

I'm testing to see which will convert better, simplistic w/great content v. more ads, google ads, etc on it. Sales online is a little different from in person/ over the phone so my goal is converting my sales and marketing skills to the internet.

      I appreciate your help!

I've only been on Warrior Forum for a short time...I almost just tried the cheapo method, glad I asked here first....

The way I read your question is not necessarily which service to use, but whether email works for getting conversions.

All I can say is, no matter which spade you use, you'll never dig up gold if you're stood in the middle of a concrete car park.

In other words - choose a good autoresponder like Aweber, then make sure the content, sales material, targeting and product matching is top notch - because THAT is what makes sales...NOT the autorepsonder service itself.

My autoresponder needs work. I have 9 preset messages so far and I'm not liking my 'fluidity.'

I'm going to rehash my marketing soon to make it more exciting and unique.
I'm used to selling people on the phone and its easier to gain trust when you hear a voice. So, I need to spend more time trust building in my AR...I'm always tweaking stuff, it's kinda fun.

      I appreciate the advice.

Get Response here for the most part. I'm happy with them. They had a little quirks happening when they first upgraded their system, but, now things seem to be worked out fine.

Either way..Aweber or Get Response are still the chosen companies for a reason..

        Both are very good solutions..

The thing with PPC is it used to be fairly easy to make good cash from it. However with changes Google has made with smart bidding your cost has gone up. On top of that people buy products on how to make money with PPC from selling products is also on the rise creating that much more competition which is driving up the cost of PPC. Your chances of making good money with PPC are very slim unless your lucky enough to find a low cost buying keyword for a product not many know about. But once again that is getting harder and harder to do.

List building as stated above don't go cheap get aweber. If your going to start list building its going to be the core of your business and it will produce sales if you manage it correctly.

I've learned that adwords isn't my friend when it comes to controlling cost. Especially as I'm testing different ideas.

I was going to try yahoo or some other ppc to see if I could get the price down a bit.

Building the list is my goal. I just want to drive enough traffic to my site (a similar story I hear on the forum). Being a new website owner, I'm realizing patience is necessary. I've also been diving into keyword research and looking for my best angles.

      Thanks for the help

On the other hand, I've seen conversions into the high 80's and routinely convert at 20% or higher. It depends on a lot of things, but when working smaller lists, focus on the relationship and extra value.

I'm going to spend the weekend perfecting my ar emails. I think I'm asking too much too fast from them. While it seems to me like a perfect progression, if someone is joining me for the first time I may be coming on strong. I'm going to look at finding free reports to offer up as incentive for them to stay tuned.

We'll see what I find. I'm pretty excited to get it tweaked and working better.
