Does This Happen to You Too? (ClickBank & PayPal)

If you try to buy a ClickBank product by PayPal, you can't proceed unless you enter a zip code.

No big deal, but the Zip code field is in the Credit/Debit Card payment section, which is the part you ignore if you're paying by PayPal, since you head right over and click on the PayPal button.

Does this happen with anyone else?

I'm just wondering if this is costing sales by confusing buyers.

Yes Dan that happens alright. I used to think it was the cause of order form submits but no orders but they have a pop up message now. I don't know if it costs sales though it could. I think all people who live in the US when they type in their zip code get a new drop down window that appears and wants you to enter your county/city. I miss this sometimes because it opens real fast. I'm pretty sure if you submit with this drop down not chosen it will return you to the order form to try again(unless their is a pop up error message for that too). This could confuse people also and account for lots of order form submits but no orders to match possibly making people think their card was rejected.

I never really thought of it before, at least not putting 2 and 2 together. I've experienced it as a buyer, but I've just gotten used to it. It didn't occur to me that it might be costing sales until someone tweeted me that it wasn't letting them pay by PayPal.

It was then that I started putting 2 and 2 together and wondering...

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Yea this happens to me to.

I assume they want postcode data for some type of tracking, or maybe even to prevent fraud?

its lame that they don't have a dedicated postcode drop down for paypal buyers though
