Affiliating - harder without a website?

Hey all, I've been an affiliate for some months now, and it hasn't gone as fantastic as I hoped - it was a lot harder than I thought.

How did all of you get started - did you also struggle in the beginning and when and how did you achieve a change in that? When did it started to go well for you?

Also, is it a lot easier to get sales when you have your own website you drive traffic to?

    As mentioned above, the 30 Day Challenge is awesome free training that every one should go through.

    It's not uncommon to struggle in the beginning.

    How are you approaching your affiliate marketing? In what way are you promoting products? PPC, blogging, article marketing, etc?
