Can anyone recommend podcast resources?

Hi, there,

I'd like to incorporate podcasts as one facet of my endeavor but I'm having a hard time finding any sort of "success guide" to podcasting.

For those of you who do podcasting, can you recommend any resources that help to make a successful podcast venture?

Thanks a lot,

- Paul

Podcasting was hyped-up a few years ago as a huge thing.

I think it kind of fizzled - people took more of an interest
in things like YouTube. I'm not saying not to do it, just
that it's reach may not be as wide as the boosters would
have you believe; Joel Comm, Alex Madossian, et al. (good
marketers but I think they misread the brief podcasting trend).

You can put your video content on some podcasting services.

I use podOmatic - Create, Find, Share Podcasts! to host podcasts.

I used this free open source program for a client. Works great and was approved by iTunes.

Podcast Generator - Open Source Podcast Publishing Solution

All you need to do is FTP upload MP3s into a specified folder and use the FTP feature to "generate" a new feed. It'll find the feeds and add them to the website automatically.

Thanks, Loren, for the candid reply.

That was the way my thoughts were going.

I'd still like to some kind of regular audio-type offering, but maybe I'll just do it as streaming audio without the podcast-hubbub to it.

BTW, I've leared a lot from you in things outside this forum, so doubly thanks for the info!
