Am I doing the right thing? (Affiliate + Email Marketing)

Hi,

A week ago I started with affiliate + email + facebook chain of marketing.
I found nat bad offer on ClickBank, built landing page with free lead magnet and start collecting leads.

Niche: Relationships
Location: US

My question is, am I going in right direction with numbers? I can find some proper information about that. No one share the % or CR or some graphs so I doing this blind.

Cost per lead: $0.63
Open rate of the first email: 57%
Open rate of the lead magnet: 23%
Leads collected: 48
Quality leads: 14
Clicks from thank-you-page to affiliate page: 14
Impressions of the order form: 2

So the total cost of the quality lead who opened lead magnet is $2.73. Or one click to affiliate link cost me around $3.

Is that a good price? I simply don't know and don't want to waste $1k and that realize that oh hell my leads are crap Sales are not important right now, just curious because it's not okay getting leads for $3. Maybe in relationships niche $1 is the top price.

Guide me guys, please!

Ummm how are sales not important? That is ultimately how you determine if you are doing the right thing... out of the 48 how many have bought? that is the real question. Whats the payout from the affiliate... are you ahead or behind? meaning how much have you spent on ads vs how much you have made?

You need to keep this in mind... sales are a down hill slope from the initial offer... so I will assume the 54 people that entered the e-mail address were then sent to the offer? THIS is your greatest percentage of purchase. You then get into the thank you e-mail and the delivery of the bait and then the first e-mail that may again present the offer... and the buy rate at this point maybe 3% MAYBE?

You can build a list all day long - but if you are not converting right off the get go with a decent percentage ( 3% or better ) the transition portion of your funnel needs work... your getting clicks - thats good - your getting e-mail conversions - thats good - your not getting the conversion that counts.

Your weakest link point is in the words you are saying and the words of the sales page you are ultimately sending traffic to - you need to be PRESELLING and then hand the traffic off to the affiliate SALES page

My assumption is that people buy after 5-6 touches with the product, so only in the next 3 month (after 15-20 emails) I'll see the sales. I don't want just burn the list in the first week and make me 100% ROI, it's better to play long and make 1000% ROI in year.

I promoting course that cost 47$. Everybody who entered email was sent to the affiliate page (Clicks from thank-you-page to affiliate page).

Have you checked that this page doesn't contain any form of email capture from the product vendor?

I capture leads on my side, with a my own free ebook landing page, and after signin I send them to the affiliate page.

Affiliate page doesn't contain any lead capture forms, just checked. It's a sale video landing page with a checkout form at the end.

This is a very good point. Whenever I choose to promote an affiliate product I go through the site/sales page to see how it interacts with prospects. Many will have sign up forms, I always sign up and wait for some emails to show up. I click the links in the email work my way to check out page and see if I am the referrer. The better vendors will use your referral code in the emails sent.

    How many sales?

If you send 3000 and one buys or one and they buy, you earn the same money but your costs per sale are hugely different.
And that is the most important thing: the cost of each sale must be less than the money you spent to make that sale.

      Good point.

I got just 14 quality leads, so the chances that I make a sell is very low + email marketing is a long term plan. I haven't seen examples where ratio was <1:14 for facebook traffic with $47 product on thatnk-you-page.

    Hey!

$3 per lead is not that bad
If you are running google ads or facebook ads

1 LEAD could cost you $7 or more
Sometimes, one click on Facebook could cost up to even $5 or more

Also, Open rate of the first email: 57% - This is fantastic
Even with an experienced affiliate marketer like me, i only got the open rate of the first email: from 30%-40%

So, there nothing to worry about having a lead at $3 cost

Worry about how you can turn them into paying custommers

    Because in the end

IT DOESN"T MATTER if you are collecting leads for $3/lead or $15/lead
If you can turn them into profit then it's all good my friend

What you can recommend me to learn in terms of making leads into paying customers? I have sequence of 5 selling emails, sent once in 2 days, do you have some tips about email funnel?

Success to me comes from being able to convert leads to sales. Anyone can build a list if they pay.

But most people suck at converting.

Most emails people send are generic, boring, overly salesy without any attempt to build a proper relationship.

    Here are a few tips:

Email 1: ALWAYS encourage someone to reply to you. To say hi or ask a question. This helps not only with inboxing, but you can begin to build a relationship.

Personal videos: I use Bonjoro, but even recording your screen and answering questions peopler have helps.

Stories: Make emails FUN. Stories that segue into a marketing message work.

Treat people how you would like to be treated. So much crap and so many gimmicks in IM it's mad. If you only sell or promote good offers, people are likely to be repeat buyers.

    Good luck!

    Hey Adam
I hope everything is good. You use Facebook ads for your affiliate marketing business, I see. It's a little simpler to start a one-on-one chat and build relationships this way if you're new to the process.

I mention this because there is a risk of financial loss, but free traffic gives you a higher chance. I earned my commissions in this manner. I gave people real value while focusing on the proper groups. When you are more helpful to the individual, it works out better.

Edit: pls do not solicit contact

I think you need more data, more leads, more traffic to determine whether something works or not. As long as you can't find obvious mistakes in your product and marketing messages.

and always remember the know, like and trust factor which is important to convert people into fans and customers. people often buy because of emotions.

I think you are on the right track. Though I don't have better experience in affiliate marketing. But I would like to learn more if possible.

The most important metrics are open rate, so 57% is great and click through rate to your offer. It's a numbers game, so you're doing well. Consistency is key.
It's really important to word your e-mails according to the needs of your customer.

Actually is getting Quality leads. I personally notice if you offer so call " free ebook or whatever free stuff " to capture leads, Most will just put dummy email just want to see that free ebook.

so in return you got crappy leads which is not real buyers who interested in fact.
