Did FTC Kill Incentive Marketing?

There was (perhaps is) something called "Incentive Marketing" where people give free stuff in return for CPA signups.

Does the new FTC rules ban such marketing?

ClickBank has banned incentive marketing, did they do it because of the FTC or its just their update?

Actually, I do believe it had something to do with the new FTC rules...

ClickBank still allow you to offer incentives for buying products via your link, the incentives just can't be cash or voucher rebates.

      .

This is pure paranoia on the part of the OP.

You will not offer, suggest or imply the availability of any rebates, coupons, tickets, vouchers or similar incentives to induce or encourage the purchase of a Product.
They are talking about offering cashback for purchases, which was already against TOS.

This part here is what's important:

      # All communications and/or representations made by You in connection with any Promotions and/or in relation to any Product will be accurate and contain all disclosures and disclaimers necessary to prevent such Promotions from being false or deceptive. Such disclosures and disclaimers must be made in a clear and conspicuous manner, and will otherwise comply with Your country's laws and all U.S. federal and state laws, including U.S. Federal Trade Commission regulations, policies and guidelines governing advertising, disclosure and consumer protection, including the FTCs endorsement rules.
This means they will self-regulate when it comes to the FTC endorsement rules. Meaning your chances of getting kicked out of Clickbank for not complying just increased considerably.

Who ever told you incentive marketing was dead?

I don't do it but it seems like less incentive offers around - but maybe that's because advertisers have realized even though they can get mass leads the vast majority aren't worth the buck payout.

...The FTC has absolutely no play on any of the above.
