I do influencer marketing, if they are excellent ones (by you doing a good job filtering), they know their audience and I tend to have successful promotions that way. Then I re-target the non-buyers which is way more cheaper and effective.

"Curiosity killed the cat... but satisfaction brought it back" they say in English, "La curiosidad mató al gato... pero murió sabiendo" (Curiosity killed the cat... but it died knowing), we say in Spanish

That's the first I've read of curiosity in worms - interesting. I know animals are curious - and people can be curious to the point of nosy.


Creating curiosity, however, is difficult. It takes a very light touch and few marketers can do it...at least that I've seen.

I love the whole curiosity thing.

Psychologists say it's because we want to learn, grow, and discover, blah, blah, blah.

I think it's because we want to know how something affects us personally. A simple definition I guess.

We read about someone dying and we really want to know how they died. Why don't they list that? We are always wanting to know...

We want to know these things because we want to know if and how we could protect ourselves, or what we need to look out for.

On the other hand, curiosity is closely linked to being nosey...

we have a forum in my small area town that talks about all the police, fire, and stuff that's happening.

Someone will post there's a wreck or something and almost every time someone will ask if anyone knows the name. Nosey.

Curiosity is what makes marketing work.

Wow. Thanks for the Article ― I didn't read all of it, however I would guess that as People we are curious because we love learning new things. Nothing wrong with that. I suppose many Animals are "curious" as well. (That's how they learn.)

Curiosity can work, but it's the weakest of the appeals.

Curiosity titles are poor titles for books. They make bad headlines, book titles, e-mail headers.

They are used as clickbait because there is no choice. Curiosity is better than no appeal at all. It's also useful if you are using click bait with celebrities, or you are appealing to a general audience with no specific interest/need/category.


Curiosity makes a great secondary appeal. The primary appeal will be strongest if;
1) It identifies who the headline/titles is for.
2) It provides a huge benefit to the intended reader. or
3) it identifies a huge threat to the reader.

If you can also include the element of curiosity, it makes the reader more likely to continue reading. But first, they need a reason to click the link.
