Earn money with an auction site

How does an auction site can make a profit? I don't consider adsense.I would like you to give me valuable suggestions and ideas.

Once you have enough traffic and reputation , simply charge a small fee to people wanting to post an auction.

That's the main way EBAY does it.

Listing fees, selling fees, ebay makes a fortune on adsense.
