Where can I sell limited edition prints / handmade paintings reproductions other than ebay?

Hi folks,

as you all know, there are some special Platforms like eBay, etsy, they are great but the prices I offer there are not much.

I know there are alternatives like artbrokerage, but this is the only alternative I researched.

Maybe you can give me more ways I can sell them online to a target audience without an auction house.

    When you say "The prices I offer there are not much" I am guessing your items are priced higher than the rest?

    Like anything one is selling there are places where you will get more and others you will get less. Art in particular it is thought that selling in a gallery will get the highest price... BUT that comes at a price. In most Galleries they will usually take a 50% commission. So selling a painting for say $5000 you the artist will only get $2500 at the end of the day. Yes, they image sells for more but the bottom line is what has to be looked at.

    Every platform ( for the most part ) is going to take something. So it is a matter of then pricing yourself with these considerations. If TOP dollar is from a gallery but you are only making 50% the price you would list at say Etsy that is only taking 6.5% would be say $2700 to make basically the same thing.

    The variable ( in my mind ) for art in general that sets a price is "Value" and with art in general the "Value" is determined on the artist backstory - or narrative if you will. At lower ends of art people are buying based on color... I need a pop of red in my Living room... the image itself matters but not to the degree that color does. You get into the higher levels of art and people are buying "STORY" - the story behind the Image.

    A semi case and point. The Mona Lisa... I wouldnt hang that painting in my living room ( in the sense it is something I wouldnt want to look at every day ) but it still has VALUE... based on who and when and the nuanced narrative of the piece itself.

    So as a buyer the Who and When have to make sense - getting really into it, it is the 5 W's and an H; Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How that will determine Value.

    Your not selling "Art" as much as you are selling a story - and it is the STORY that has to resonate with the buyer.

    My sister sells her own limited edition canvas abstract art on Amazon.

    She doesn't doesn't really promote it though so her sales aren't super high.
