Why Your Ecommerce Businesses Revenue Isn't Increasing

As a digital marketing agency owner that focuses on e-commerce businesses I see this all the time with clients and figured I would share some tips with anyone who is willing to listen.

#1 you are using your Google ads wrong: Stop running google ads for the sole purpose of getting conversions. My suggestion is to download a screen recorder plugin on your website so you can better monitor your users. From there, you should be experimenting nonstop with your google ads, especially when it comes to your headlines and keywords, see how your users react to your website, maybe it's your poor website that is repulsive to users. Overall my suggestion would be to use google ads as a place to experiment and optimize as quickly and efficiently as possible, something you can't necessarily do when it comes to SEO.

#1 you need to prioritize your SEO: Social media is great and all, but for those users who aren't overly impulsive with their purchasing and are waiting for the right time to buy something, they almost always turn to google. SEO yields way higher conversions than any other form of marketing and can be great for building your brand authority. It takes a long and is expensive but it's something you need to do if you want your business to be more sustainable in the long term.

Let me know your thoughts or questions below, Thanks!

  • I'm not the best at SEO. Google Ads is very fruitful for me in certain niches. Sometimes I find that I can get tier 1 clicks at $0.30 per click, but they don't always convert the best. What's your advice for getting higher conversion rates to landing pages with Google Ads? If I can get it right on Google Ads, I can replicate the results on other marketing mediums.

Hey Randall, my advice to you is the same advice I would give to anyone. Experiment as much as possible, on both your google ads and your website landing pages. A lot of people fail to understand how to properly guide visitors through the sales funnel, and that is very normal. No market expert on this planet has a guaranteed successful approach to getting conversions, it just comes down to being able to better understand your customers. That being said, do some research and play around with the headlines on your google ads. If you aren't having trouble getting clicks, focus on changing your landing page and the CTAs weekly. Make sure you record the data of your results and in a few months' time you will have a very good understanding of what works for your business and what doesn't.

Keep the focus on Organic traffic instead of Paid advertising. Also, share your products on social media. It will be very helpful to generate traffic.
