Where can I sell plate sig. lithographs or vintage paintings in the style of the masters?

Hi folks,

Right now I am on eBay, and some other platforms and sell paintings and limited editions all used and vintage. Most of the works I acquire offline and online (if the same work is on eBay for 100$ I got 20% off and list on 1stdibs for $350 and accept the offer around 250$, just an example)

After Commission and accepting offers, on average, I make 140$ profit on arbitrage and 450$ on normal paintings I bought from offline.

But the problem is, I risk that the same work could be seen (if the buyer makes a research) on eBay and Etsy for a lower price.

I really wonder where can I get to a level where the profits can be a bit higher, especially in the arbitrage.

Should I go and sell emerging artists work on behalf of the artist? Do you guys think thats a good idea?

Do you think there are more ways where I can expand the circle to? Primary Market Galleries only sell new artists on art fairs, and online.

(mod edit: cannot link to your sales page in discussion post)

I know there are alternatives like artbrokerage.com, intondo.com, artsy and 1stdibs etc but did you have more experiences in invisible market?

Thank you for any clue and help. Would much appreciate your comment on this discussion..

Sincerely

Tanner

The other side of this is your own website. The GREATEST hurdle in this is "Traffic". The overall advantage with eBay, Etsy, artbrokerage, intondo, artsy and 1stdibs etc is you dont have to worry about that... its already there ..

I may be wrong...but you are getting to the point that this is no longer passive income - a Side Hussle if you will... this is you trying to get to the next level... and the next level is what? An online Primary Market Gallery no?

I dont say this often... but Shopify might be an option for you... you can display items you have for sale on eBay, and Facebook and Instagram marketplace ( doesnt sound like you list here ).

At the very least I would start with a Facebook Store, and from there you can convert to a Instagram store, and I would go just short of all in with building traffic from Instagram. I would be figuring out twitter real fast... if the promise of turning twitter into WeChat is a thing ( and it sounds like it will be ) Twitter will be a facebook / instagram disruptor.

put together a premier in appearance online presence with unified outlets across all of the platforms - meaning someone types <insert name of gallery here> and someone will see listings on facebook and Intondo and istdibs as well as your own site - then go after the new artist relationships.

The new artist relationships will have to be listed on YOURsite, you really cant list on the platform type sights because 1/2 of %50 is not deal closing - Hey let me sell your art work for 25% of its value - is simply not something anyone wants to hear.

Social media the crud out of YOUR site... use Shopify to display your Facebook / Instagram listings as well as any eBay listings With any and every order that is shipped you have to have a flyer / card that informs anyone and everyone of the primary site where underground and emerging artist work can be found.

And the best of luck man!
