  • Weekly. I don't check social media, i use SpyFu to check competitor's keywords they're ranking for, keywords their advertising for on Google Ads, and their backlink sources. Inexpensive alternative to Semrush.

  • K, so here's a scenario ...

    Hieronymus walks into the bar.

Stoopid name, but he hung like a frickin' donkey, an' you WANT HIM.

Prahblem is, Ditzbrain Sally is lurkin' out by the pool table, an' she plays guitar jus' like H -- an' you don't.

Sooz The Flooze is here also, an' she is tall. Perfect height for El Generally Monstro.

As for Melindah The Grindah, she out tonite in her split-crotch favorites, an' she flashin' her flapperchoores at Big H evry time she gets a chance.

I cannot believe for a second you would evah walk into such a bar an' not eyeball them goils, plus also stab 'em to death in the restroom if'n you gaht a chance.

2 reasons to be intrested in rival promo:

    1) They 'bout to slaughtah your ass, you bettah see it comin'.

    2) They 'bout to slaughtah your ass, pump out a smarter offah.

But don't get too crazy 'bout it.

If'n Melindah pettin' the tiniest chihuahua on the plannit within Hieronymus Eyeball range, it don't mean you gotta writhe around on the floor withya legs in the air.

Like the faymuss Roman emperor Oblivius Maximus said, "he who has widest scope of vision commands all focus, and --"

Tellya, that is so wise an' incisive, an' it is such a shame we nevah gaht to hear the next part bcs he was shot in the tits by a Pict.

  • Let me start with something not asked ... but I would recommend a change of dialog. There are no competitors. Competition in business is in many ways a myth. It isn't a zero sum game. There are companies in your market, and companies not in your market. Companies in your market are targets for creating cooperative cross-marketing campaigns where you both win.

How often do I check the websites/blogs/social media pages of others in my market? I'd say at least weekly, but on places like Linkedin, that's daily.

I do monthly. But I do this analysis on keywords and not on their social media posts.

I do check my competitors weekly, it's very necessary. We can't be updated enough without checking what are they doing. The keywords and activities are very much crucial to check.

Yes, my assistant checks them bi-monthly for google rankings, new course releases, what comments they get on social for said releases and their websites.

Mostly there's nothing to be gained but occasionally there is something to be used, avoided or exploited.
