I am trying to find out how this site ( frugalliving.about.c om) not mine and not going to give them more credit for a link has a backlink to https://financialaid.arizona.ed u.

Anyone have any ideas?

there's tons of ways people get high quality links (like edu and gov sites). Usually it because there's a forum SOMEWHERE on the site that is public.

(I've even seen services that bribe college students to put a link on their college profile page for $$$... pretty f' in slick huh?)

I believe the ebook "100 backlinks a day" has a long list of those links. (And I think 'the rich jerk' ebook had a list too, but that list is probably old as heck!)

    Hope that helps,

About.com is written by a number of "guides", one guide per niche. The reason the arizona.edu got a link is simple, the guide felt it was a good resource related to his/her topic and included it in their guide.

If you feel you have a GREAT, RELEVANT page, contact the particular guide and ask if they will link to you.

Not difficult at all to get .edu links, try some of the Warriors in the WSO section who do backlinking for you, many have inroads to these sites.
